I know, my life is really pathetic, I should really re-think it. Its funny that you say I'm a Hindu, but the only reason you say that is because I believe in something similar to karma, I believe in a creator, does that make me christian? Really, think of what you say, you are probably the saddest bunch of people I have ever come across, so narrow minded and delusional. Really take time to think in why you believe in Christianity, you'll realize that your just and bunch of cowardly individuals, Really sad to see that, this planet is doomed because of people like you. Not because you believe in Christianity, but because you believe the way you do, that goes for any religion, It is the people that give religions a bad name.

    PATHETIC.

Karma requires an intelligence to record your deeds and respond with reward or punishment. Basically, you believe in a cosmic Santa Claus, who is keeping a list and checking it twice. More likely twice per second for each human, animal, bacterium, and plant.

Not only does this demonstrate that you cannot be an atheist, as you have "faith" in a supernatural agency, but your fear of or hope for karma demonstrates that so-called "atheists" like you only pretend to have morals; you are acting in search of reward or in avoidance of punishment. Oddly, this is the very same charge so-called atheists level at Christians.

    What's Karma?

    Here, I'll use a resource you'll respect: http://www.skepdic.com/karma.html

So, according to your belief in Karma, you should never help the mentally ill, or Jews, or homosexuals, or the sick, or the poor. As the Skeptic's Dictionary plainly states, homosexuals are homosexual and the mentally ill are mentally ill because they did bad things in a prior life and are getting what they deserve. Toddlers dying of dysentery-induced diarrhea (basically, shitting themselves to death) because they lack clean water, or born addicted to crack or with AIDS or blinded by Mommy's gonorrhea infection deserve it, because of bad karma. They did something bad in a "prior life".

    That's what you believe in.

Karma is also the foundation of the Hindu caste system. You are born to a caste, as the result of your "past lives". You can only rise to a higher caste by accepting "your place in life" and being a very good Untouchable, the lowest form of human, relegated to scrubbing toilets and hauling garbage no matter how intelligent or talented you might be. Are you an uppity Untouchable? You may be reborn as a dog! Are you an ill-tempered dog? Next time you may be a cockroach!

I hope you will be a very good cockroach, because the next step down may be dung beetle.

Karma is merely a method for social control; do you think it a coincidence that the Brahmins, the top of the caste pyramid, are the wealthiest and control the priesthood?
Again, The only reason I believe in doing good things for people is because I feel good, and they feel good. Why wouldn't you want to help someone out in need? Anyways, according to you I will burn in hell but if that's the case, I'll see you there

I'm just very sad to see that there are still people like you out there But for the most part, the world is a wonderful place filled with wonderful people. But then there are others like yourself, very depressing

Anyways, I'm going to go now, never to come back to this site, live my life, and we'll see what happens. Deal?

    Nice not knowing you

The Bible says it is God's Word.

God, being omniscient, knows exactly what the Bible says.

God, being omnipotent, could change every Bible in the world, billions of copies, in an instant if He didn't like what it said.

    It says what it says.

Therefore, the Bible is what God wants us to read.

For the Bible not to be God's Word, one of the following would have to apply:
God is malevolent, and wants people to be steered wrong so He can throw them into Hell. Unnecessary, as He, being God, can burn anyone He likes.

God is indifferent, and doesn't care what people believe. This would also mean that He doesn't care about war between religions, people tortured over religion, etc., and basically doesn't care at all about people.

God is either not omniscient or not omnipotent, and unable to know or change the Bible. Sounds like Thor, to me. I'm pretty sure he was illiterate.

God does not exist, and everything was created from nothing.
    Pick one.
okay, that was possibly the dumbest thing I have ever read in my entire life. Here it is using logic, You have absolutely no way of knowing you are right, unless you were around to see Jesus/seeing the bible being given down to earth. Heck they could find any book in 1000 years and if someone liked it enough, they could go around telling people this is the truth, and if you don't believe me this is what is going to happen *throw in something here that will make people scared* and I can gaurantee you it would stand the test of time, and people would keep believing in it.

By the way do you believe in the second coming of Christ? If so, cannot wait to see what you have to say if that doesn't happen. True Christianity is dying, and there are only a few of you morons that follow it scripture by scripture. 75% of Americans believe the bible was sent by god himself, out of that I bet 2% actually follow it word by word. See you in hell

Karma is a law in Hinduism which maintains that every act done, no matter how insignificant, will eventually return to the doer with equal impact. Good will be returned with good; evil with evil. Since Hindus believe in reincarnation, karma knows no simple birth/death boundaries. If good or evil befall you, it is because of something you did in this or a previous lifetime.

Karma is sometimes referred to as a "moral law of cause and effect." Karma is both an encouragement to do good and to avoid evil, as well as an explanation for whatever good or evil befalls a person.

    ...

On one level, karma serves to explain why good things happen to bad people and bad things happen to good people. The injustices of the world, the seeming random distribution of good and evil, are only apparent. In reality, everybody is getting what he or she deserves. Even the child brutalized by drugged adults deserves the horror. The mentally ill, the retarded, the homosexuals, and the millions of Jews killed by the Nazis deserved it for evil they must have done in the past. The slave beaten to within a breath of death deserved it, if not for what he did today, then for what he did in some previous lifetime. Likewise for the rape victim. She is just getting what she deserves. All suffering is deserved, according to the law of karma.

Assumptions assumptions, you think I'm Hindu? I have no religion I just like to be observant, unlike you, I bet none of you have even stepped out of your backyards, very narrow minded to say the least. It is because of people like you we still have suffering the world, and if everyone were like you then you wouldn't even know that other countries exist, and there are other types of people in the world. I just hope you know that. You're all just a bunch of moronic and narrow minded individuals.

I cannot believe you all believe in Christianity just because the Bible said so, my goodness, just goes to show you all cannot think on your own.

Enjoy your fearing what might happen for the rest of your life, while I enjoy the earth that the creator has give us.

That, apparently, is part of the atheist dogma.

So you believe in the Hindu-based concept of "karma", which is used by Hindus to enforce their "caste" system. Under the caste system, you are born into a particular sector of society; in order to leave it, you must be the best Untouchable you can be, then die, and be reborn to a higher caste. If you are uppity and demand not to spend your days scrubbing sewer pipes -- just because you can read and think you can do better things -- you will be punished. If you marry someone outside your caste, you may be put to death.

    Is that what you believe?

Tell me, who is the great scorekeeping intelligence that you believe dishes out rewards and punishments for your good or bad behavior? Santa Claus? Vishnu?
I came to this forum to find out why you believe the way you do. That's it, I have got the answer now though, it is not sufficient enough to make me change my mind, so now I'll be leaving. I never said about dying and being reborn to a higher caste, but just from what I've experienced, I've done good things for people, and good things have happened, that is why I believe in what I believe, but your belief is only because "the bible said so" Everything we have from science as far as proofs go, is that they have been observed and can be applied to our world. I am observing my life and what takes place, and that is why I believe what I believe. I've noticed it for many people as well, but if you keep treating people the same way some of you treat people then bad things such as hatred from others will come from it. The one who dishes out "rewards" is the people around us, why don't you try and treat everyone with respect no matter who they are, and see what you get from it.

Yes but it was because of that people started believing in Christianity. Now the way I see it, the only reason people still believe in Christ is because they are afraid of burning in hell. I mean, hell does sound like a terrible place, I would hate to go there, however I refuse to believe that every Christian will go to heaven even if they are rude and bad to others. I don't mean you, because you have treated me with respect up to this point, and for that I thank you.
