Of course! If you die without believing in Jesus, you go to hell for all eternity.

Then I'm out nothing. The boodists and hindaloos believe in reincarnation. The mooslimbs believe "followers of the book" get to go to heaven in a subservient role. The only way I could be hosed is if the Jews or Mormons were right all along. In that case, even fewer people are going to Heaven than I believe.

Absolutely not! That's a horrible idea and one that leads to hell.
I understand the bible stood the test of time, but wasn't that due to fear? Look back in history, many people were killed for not believing in the bible, and that led to fear in many eyes. It was a very good way of creating a totalitarian society, however there were people like me that asked the question why, and didn't get any answers, except were just killed for asking. That is why I believe it stood the test of time. I mean doesn't that make sense? If your entire family was killed for not believing in Christianity, wouldn't you start believing due to fear, and pass those beliefs down to the rest of your family.

I don't mean to cause any trouble, I just want to know why, I just find it sad and frustrating to see how you guys can look down on so many people for believing in something different. I see many of you making fun of other people's beliefs, instead why not just live your life the way you want to, and let others live theirs without making comments on their beliefs and making fun of them. The way I see it, If I am a good person to everyone, and I mean everyone, and don't cause any harm physically or mentally to anyone, then I will have good things happen. I have lived by this philosophy my entire life, and only good has come from it, especially in the long run. I just want you guys not to be so harsh to people that don't believe in the same things you do, because who knows you could be wrong.

Other than that, my original question why was just to see your side of things, personally, I don't believe it is right, but who knows you could be...

Also, are you asking us specifically or Christians in general? If you are asking about Christians in general, you should know that 75% of Americans believe the Bible is God's Word.

so everything you've prayed for has come true is this what you are telling me?

Because I've prayed for certain things, they have come true for me as well, but I am not a believer in your god, I have my own beliefs that do not coincide with any religion except for what I've observed throughout my life that fit with what happens. I have a great life, a great family, and every decision I make turns out to be for the better, does it mean that my "god" exists?

But why is it that the bible was gods book? what makes you believe that it is, what if I were to write down something on paper and bury it into the ground hoping that someone would find it 1000 years down the road and he started believing it. What makes any of you guys different than him?

    Re: why?

Dear friend, we know that the Bible is God's Word because of the following:

2 Tim. 3:16-17: All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

The Bible does not say that the Rig-Veda, the Qur'an, or the Book of Mormon is God's Word.

    started a topic why?

    why?

I just want to ask why do you guys believe in what you believe? Its just that you go by everything the bible says, but why do you think the bible was created by god himself. Do you have a time machine that I don't know about, and watched him create the heaven and the earth, as well as pass down the bible to man?

I have gone through this site for a little bit, and just wanted to ask why? Why aren't other religions right? Why is it that Christians are the only ones who are right?

I don't want to start any conflict, I just want to know why? Is there something you guys know that the rest of us do not?
