  • Hello

I just discovered this forum, and it piqued my interest, so I thought I would take the time to register and introduce myself. Although I have gone to church my entire life and continue to do so, I am someone that I would believe that most of you would consider evil. I am an atheist. However, I would like to assure you that I am not here to troll you... it is not in my personality. I simply came here to participate in discussion, assuming that my presence isn't taken to negatively. If I find that my participation causes an overwhelmingly negative reaction, and if you would prefer it that I leave, I will happily do so. I do not mean to disrupt your community or sling around accusations - I am here merely due to a genuine interest. I will give forewarning that my opinions will likely not match the majority due to my religious standpoint, but again, feel free to shoo me away. I do expect that many of you may have hurtful things to say. To this, I say go ahead. I am not easily hurt by negative comments, and thus am not concerned much by that inevitability. In conclusion, I look forward to meeting some of you and wish you only the best.

    Davis

      Re: Hello

I suppose that would be the oppurtunity I had today to have a conversation with my mother.

I don't often get the chance to converse meaningfully with her, and it was a great reminder of how much she means to me and how influential she has been to me during my life.

What has caused you to hate Jesus so much even though your parents have tried to do right by you? Do your parents know? Did your mother cry when you told her you don't believe?

I bet she did or she will when you do tell her.

          Re: Hello

I suppose the hate that you are referring to is my not accepting Him (I could be off-base here, so please correct me if I am)?

Assuming this is the case, it is most likely the result of what most of you would consider false teachings. I place value in mathematics and science (I apologize in advance) and although I see what I believe to be truth in those fields, that does not necessarily mean that they are... I am obviously not a judge of ultimate truth.

As for my parents, I have not told them of my religious beliefs out of fear that they will react just as you have described. I do not wish my parents pain, but I must also admit that I also do not tell them due to selfish reasons. I am afraid of the judgement that comes with the title of atheist, as I live in the south and thus would have very little support for my current beliefs.

I almost choked on my breakfast while reading that.

It is still not too late for you to cast those 'soon to be burning in hell' thoughts aside. Read the bible! Praise the Lord!

Oh sweet Jesus I hope you'll find the light.

            Psalm 14:1-6:
The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.

They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread, and call not upon the LORD.

There were they in great fear: for God is in the generation of the righteous.

Ye have shamed the counsel of the poor, because the LORD is his refuge.
            Revelation 22:1:
And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.

Yes, not accepting Jesus is the ultimate sin for which there will be the ultimate punishment.

Mark 16:16 "He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned."

2nd Chronicles 15:13 "That whosoever would not seek the LORD God of Israel should be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman."

Revelation 21:8 "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death."

To most "Christians" The Bible is like a license agreement. They just scroll to the bottom and click "I agree". All those "Christians" will burn in Hell!
James 2:10 "For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all."
