    Evenin' Mateys

My name is Mya and , yes, I love pirates. (and rum)
I've been an atheist for most of my life, but my favorite verse would probably be Isaiah 9:2 (The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.) I don't really believe in the literal translation of the Bible, but I do see it as a great collection of moral stories.

Umm... I don't know what else to say except... Hi!

    See ya, mateys,
    Mya
Numbers 21:8 And the LORD said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live.

    Welcome friend.

I am sad to read you are an atheist. Tell me friend, why do you hate Jesus so much you pretend He doesn't exists (even though in you're hearts of heart you do believe)? What happened friend? He still loves you, you know.

Time to reclaim our FREEDOM from the “Mullah in Chief” and his growing activist voter hoards of socialists, communists, anti-Semites, anti-Christians, atheists, radical gays and lesbians, feminists, illegal immigrants, Muslims, anti-Anglo whites and others.

      >Do I believe that he existed at one point as a great teacher and role model for morality?: yes.
      >Do I believe that he is the actual Son of God who was resurrected 3 days after his death?: no.

I believe that we can learn a lot from the Bible, but I don't believe that it should be taken literally.

        Friend,

Now you are just evading my question; why do you hate God so much you pretend He doesn't exist? If God exists logically Jesus is His son / co-third of the Trinity. By denying Jesus divinity you are just denying God's existence.

Would you please answer my question friend, I am always curious what drives people to such unthinking hatred.

If Jesus was not the Son of God, then He was just some guy who ran around telling lies and making stuff up until he got killed by a mob of vicious Jews. How would that make him a great role model?
O Lord our God, help us to tear their soldiers to bloody shreds with our shells; help us to cover their smiling fields with the pale forms of their patriot dead; help us to drown the thunder of the guns with the shrieks of their wounded, writhing in pain; help us to lay waste their humble homes with a hurricane of fire; help us to wring the hearts of their unoffending widows with unavailing grief; help us to turn them out roofless with little children to wander unfriended the wastes of their desolated land in rags and hunger and thirst, sports of the sun flames of summer and the icy winds of winter, broken in spirit, worn with travail, imploring Thee for the refuge of the grave and denied it--for our sakes who adore Thee, Lord, blast their hopes, blight their lives, protract their bitter pilgrimage, make heavy their steps, water their way with their tears, stain the white snow with the blood of their wounded feet! We ask it, in the spirit of love, of Him Who is the Source of Love, and Who is the ever-faithful refuge and friend of all that are sore beset and seek His aid with humble and contrite hearts. Amen.

God being truth, justice, goodness, beauty, power, and life, man is falsehood, iniquity, evil, ugliness, impotence, and death. God being master, man is the slave. Incapable of finding justice, truth, and eternal life by his own effort, he can attain them only through a divine revelation... he who desires to worship God must harbor no childish illusions about the matter, but bravely renounce his liberty and humanity.

            I see.

Then how, exactly, would you take, for example, "Thou shalt not lie"? Metaphorically?

Pastor Ezekiel is too busy with his prayer ministry to throttle you properly now, so I am going to do it. I won't be pulling any of my punches, so you had best run along now. I doubt you are old enough to post here. Even though you do seem to have a bit of a history here with the good pastor. I don't want to give you a Godly Beating even though it's been a while. SInce I got a god hating loser to beat that is, you simple minded sinner.
I have no sig to put here. Just haven't thought about it yet and don't have an idea what to do. Got suggestions? PM me and let me know.
