Hi guys. My false name is Bonham. I see myself as a good christian teenager compared to others. I am not a baptist. I go to a community church with no real "defined" religion. While it is probably not what some people here like, I am not a catholic. I was baptised when I had no choice as an infant. I decided to not be one when I realized that they are hypocrites with useless symbolism. I have a lot of questions to ask, from real christians (my family is all catholics) and so being able to post in other forums would be greatly apreciated.

Can you tell us more about this "community church" of yours? Do they preach repentance, or are they one of those self-esteem boosting easy-believism type churches?

Well this community church, has recently "celebrated" their renovations which included removing confession booths (the facility used to be a catholic church decades ago). So no, no talking to people in white suits is needed.

It's not your fault you've been in the wrong congregation - I've been there and was in a far worse one, believe me, the 'Single Malt-Buckfast-and-daily-Snakebite' one. And believe me, you are in an enviable position. You already want God to enter you whereas I spent more than half my life denying Him. So come on in, kick off your shoes, have a scone and tell us more about you and let the Pastors take care of saving your soul. They're the experts. The rest of us? We're just here to help you feel the Love of Christ's Mercy.

Did you know the author of that book was a communist? I'm not saying you are one, but they can be insidious in trying to get their dogma to the masses.

My questions are, though, is enjoying the sound and not the lyrics of Black Sabbath and Slayer a sin? Is enjoying Role Playing Games with magical themes a sin? I am a confused boy in a common community of headbangers and gamers.

OK. Cool. I only meant your 1st name though. My name's really María Isabel but Marisa's the nickname for that. The L is the initial of my first surname (I'm from Spain-so we have 2, 1 from Dad 1 from Mom) and Sánchez is my 2nd.

I didn't think of invent a name. I think I might have choose 'Leia' or 'Padmé' because they're caracters I love from movies, when I was young. Nice lead ladies, you know.

But anyway, I just thought 'Marisa L Sánchez and ¡Hala! that was it.

But don't worry, I will just call you Bonham.

As a matter of fact, I have. I wonder what the author had in mind when he decided Bonham had been so offensive to Jesus that he would saddle him with all of those injuries. I suppose it was his (Bonham's) anti-patriotic streak.

Well, considering that the Bible says that we are not good enough for God (Rom.3:23,Eph.2:1,Rom.3:10,Isa.64:6,Rom.3:19), and that we must repent of our sins and be born again to be saved (Mark 1:15,Acts 20:21,Acts 26:20,2 Tim. 2:25,Heb. 6:1), and these self-esteem gospel churches preach the exact opposite of that (you are good enough for God, no need to repent, come as you are) -- yes, I would say that's bad.

It's not a sin, but it can easily lead to sin if you aren't saved, and I can't imagine why a saved person would want to listen to it.

The sound itself is actually much more dangerous than the lyrics. Rock and Roll has its origins in Voodoo ritual music. Take a look at this and this.

It seems everything derives from something sinful at it's root. Even ancient epic poems, are fuelled by monsters and violence. So is this to say that simply due to roots, any enjoyment we get, is at the root, evil? If that is the case, we all enjoy evil. And if Joe Bonham, a fictional character, was destroyed due to god, we should all be in hospital beds, limbless.

It may seem that way to someone who is enamored of worldly things, but when we shun worldly things and seek Godly things instead, it ceases to be an issue.

I haven't read your commie book, so I don't get what you are saying here. What bearing does the fate of some character from some novel have to do with the real God in the real world?
