  • Hi, I'm megax11

Hello there fellow christians. I have come here with my take on the whole matter.

First off I am a gamer. I have been gaming since I was 8 (now 29,) and I have played all sorts of games (namely violent ones.) Nothing has caused me to ever change from what I believe God wants me to be. I own all the game systems, including a Wii.

However my main concern is with some of the christians here, saying what they are saying.

One thing I will never do in life, is judge. I'm seeing a lot of that. Sad thing is, I won't come here telling people how to act, or act upon how many here are acting. Why? Because God doesn't want that.

It plainly says in the bible not to judge anything, yet many here are judging and calling people names for their opinions, which kind of gives christians bad names. I would like to tell my friend who is an Athiest, "hey, christians won't judge and be quick to call out things they don't agree with, and act superior." Yet when he tells me all the time that christianity is another form of control in this world and that God is fake (which he couldn't be more wrong about both,) and that christians try to act more superior then anyone else, then I stumble upon this topic, is he right?

He won't sway me however, but those who are stating their opinion, and lashing out at those (calling people defending the Wii idiots,) isn't very christian like. What is worse, it makes lost souls like my friend, who need to re-find Jesus, right, about us christians (or at least those christians who try and act right about everything.)

Look me being christian doesn't give me anymore superiority over life, and be able to judge something, when I should just be living, and worrying about the things most important in life. Like world peace, being kind to one another, helping the less fortunate, raising my family (I have two kids,) and being happy to ust be living life where many people don't get that privledge (there are two 5 year old kids who live 3 houses down from me who've been missing for 3 days now, after walking home from school.)

Instead of finding things to pick on, some christians should be setting examples, so ALL of us christians don't get a bad rap...

So that is my opinion, and since I stumbled upon this site from a gaming website, I may come here and chat with other fellow christians, about what really matters in christianity... Jesus.

      Friend,

I find your comments curious. This thread is a discussion about how we found the Wii is nothing more than a form of child abuse and how we as Christians are dealing with it. Were are we judging anyone or acting superior to anyone? Allowing our own children to be raped under our' very noses is hardly something to be proud about friend. I am personally ashamed that I was on the comittee that gave the Wii its' purity license to be sold in Freehold County.

The fact is Wii is there now hurting children and we are obligated to act. By you reasoning we should throw up our hands, say “judge not” and allow this mechanical child molestation to continue. That doesn’t sound very responsible at all friend.

Time to reclaim our FREEDOM from the “Mullah in Chief” and his growing activist voter hoards of socialists, communists, anti-Semites, anti-Christians, atheists, radical gays and lesbians, feminists, illegal immigrants, Muslims, anti-Anglo whites and others.

Friend, you have judged; you claim that we call people names. You have passed judgment. If you don't judge, then you wouldn't bring it up; because it wouldn't bother you. You wouldn't even notice.

The bible does not plainly say not to judge. The bible (KJV1611) says to Judge Righteous Judgment (Leviticus 19:15).

When the bible says not to judge, it says that whatever measure you judge by, you will be held to that same standard.

Matthew 7:2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

I hold myself to an extremely high standard; and I expect others to hold themselves to a high standard. I do not fear being judged; I welcome it. I want the LORD to look at me on Judgment Day and say "well done my child". I don't want him to say; "you were a little soft on megax11; and because of that he rejected my commandments; couldn't you have tried a little more?"

            Welcome here friend.

But have you ever read the bible properly?

It's all about judging and cursing non-believers and sinners of all kind.

I'm sure the good Pastors here can tell you everything about it.

Why do you hate God? Do you know that playing video games desensitizes you to violence and sex, and turns you into a pedophile, murderer, and rapist?

Even if you are immune to such effects (and precious few, other than our Pastors, are), at the very least they turn your heart from God and put your mind on jacking cars and pimpin' hos (as in GTA) or becoming a terrorist rebel (as in Half-Life or Halo) or having wild sex with stocky furry Italian plumbers (Super Mario Galaxies). Why would you want to focus on things like that?

Did your parents fail to spank you as a child?
However my main concern is with some of the christians here, saying what they are saying.
              You mean, repeating God's Word?

We do that, you see. Have you read God's Word? If not, we have a convenient Bible in a Year section available for your edification.

Son, I think YOU are the atheist, aren't you? Admit it, you have no "friend". That's why you spend all your time playing video games, right?

Now, you obviously believe what you say your imaginary friend believes. We, on the other hand, believe exactly what GOD TELLS us to believe.

Which is more credible, your imaginary friend, or God, the Creator of the universe and all that is in it?
He won't sway me however, but those who are stating their opinion, and lashing out at those (calling people defending the Wii idiots,) isn't very christian like. What is worse, it makes lost souls like my friend, who need to re-find Jesus, right, about us christians (or at least those christians who try and act right about everything.)
If you were a Christian, you'd start by showing respect for Jesus by capitalizing Christian. You'd also read God's Word, as the Pastors have noted above.
Look me being christian doesn't give me anymore superiority over life, and be able to judge something, when I should just be living, and worrying about the things most important in life. Like world peace
Kindly show me where the Bible says that Jesus has the goal of world peace? Thanks.
Instead of finding things to pick on, some christians should be setting examples, so ALL of us christians don't get a bad rap...

So that is my opinion, and since I stumbled upon this site from a gaming website, I may come here and chat with other fellow christians, about what really matters in christianity... Jesus.
OK, Megapostwriter, would you consider it a good example to follow God's Law? Or would you consider that a bad example?

Would you consider it a good example to help people see that they are bound to eternal damnation, and steer them toward Jesus, or would you consider that a bad example?

Would you instead consider it a good example to let people bounce on their merry way across toadstools to save a princess and go straight to Hell to spare their "feelings", or would it be the Christian and loving thing to do to point them toward Jesus?

Tell me, if you are actually Christian, why do you hate your fellow gamers and your imaginary wife and children so?

                Re: Hi, I'm megax11

Wow... I must say some of the responses to my posts are, interesting.

"Why do you hate God? Do you know that playing video games desensitizes you to violence and sex, and turns you into a pedophile, murderer, and rapist?"

To whoever wrote this. I can agree about the sex part, totally. Movies and games. That shouldn't be allowed to happen.

However if someone in a movie gets shot, and corn syrup spurts out, I know they are putting food on the table of their families (should they be using their money WISELY, and not in a stupid fashion.) Again nudity is another thing though, because you cannot make fake boobs. Same with games. Sure some are violent, and I do own violent games. I do not own games with nudity though, and if a computer created person dies in a game, he will be there again if I reset the game.

To whoever said I have a fake friend who is an Athiest, you know, I wish it were fake. He lost his 24 year old brother who was a vegetable (as he called it,) in a bed for all of his life. One minute he believes in god, carrying around a bible, the next he says he cannot believe in something that cannot be shown in proof. Believe me, I've tried to convince him that god is real, but he refuses to believe. It has lead to many arguements, but in this world, who needs to argue? I mean, I could argue with those who said I am the athiest and I have a fake friend, and wife, and kids, because I have a hobby (gaming,) but that is not my job, it is gods. They are just opinions afterall.

Thanks to the person who welcomed me though.

I do have to admit, I own a bible, but haven't read it much since my boss used to read it to me during my lunch breaks back in 1997, so I have a question... Does it say in the bible you are not supposed to play videogames? I need a refresher...

                  Re: Hi, I'm megax11

I am sorry about your friend's brother. The Lord certainly works in mysterious ways. This is what you need to say to your friend:

God doesn't give anyone more than they can handle. I do have living proof that God is good and always right, never making a mistake. I see His handy work in every aspect of our lives. He is merciful, loving, and forgiving UPON REQUEST.

Trust and Obey His word. Faith is what it takes. I know we can not see, hear, or feel Jesus, but we can see what His hands have done and are doing. We can hear His word by reading the Bible and listening to preaching. We can feel His presence deep down inside our very soul bringing us peace, sweet peace, and joy unspeakable. Why not search it our for yourself? If I'm wrong what have you lost? If you're wrong you will have lost your soul to hell. The devil is out to kill, steal, and destroy you, and you are permitting him to do just that. If you don't serve God you're serving Satan.

Friend, I don't want to pick on you, but isn't that what happens all the time these days? Isn't that what female fornicators have? Isn't that why their boobies blow up when they take an aeroplane?

Of course you can make fake boobs. But it would still be highly inappropriate to show them, I'm with you on that one.

As for the fake boobs part, I meant in terms of gaming.

"Does it say that you can?"

Aha... A question no one can answer. I won't say if it is good or bad, as if God wanted me to stop playing videogames, I'm sure he would've shown me the way. I do believe he has shown me the way on many things, which I love him for.

"And how do you think playing GTA or Super Mario Gaylaxy will bring you any closer to accepting Jesus?"

I accpeted Jesus in 1989, when I was saved and baptized. Was very proud of myself for doing so...

I have this written down somewhere, but can someone tell me what verse this is from?

"For all are sinners and have fallen short of the glory of God." I might have worded it a bit wrong, but I know it was Romans. Does this mean that no matter how perfect you try to be, no one can achieve true perfection in life and never sin again in any shape, way or form? Please refresh my mind on this, as knowledge is power, and I would like a fellow christian to help me in garnering its meaning.

                          Thanks.

No. It is in the past tense. We have all fallen short of the glory of God, but we are not destined to do so in the future. That part is up to us and Jesus.
O Lord our God, help us to tear their soldiers to bloody shreds with our shells; help us to cover their smiling fields with the pale forms of their patriot dead; help us to drown the thunder of the guns with the shrieks of their wounded, writhing in pain; help us to lay waste their humble homes with a hurricane of fire; help us to wring the hearts of their unoffending widows with unavailing grief; help us to turn them out roofless with little children to wander unfriended the wastes of their desolated land in rags and hunger and thirst, sports of the sun flames of summer and the icy winds of winter, broken in spirit, worn with travail, imploring Thee for the refuge of the grave and denied it--for our sakes who adore Thee, Lord, blast their hopes, blight their lives, protract their bitter pilgrimage, make heavy their steps, water their way with their tears, stain the white snow with the blood of their wounded feet! We ask it, in the spirit of love, of Him Who is the Source of Love, and Who is the ever-faithful refuge and friend of all that are sore beset and seek His aid with humble and contrite hearts. Amen.

God being truth, justice, goodness, beauty, power, and life, man is falsehood, iniquity, evil, ugliness, impotence, and death. God being master, man is the slave. Incapable of finding justice, truth, and eternal life by his own effort, he can attain them only through a divine revelation... he who desires to worship God must harbor no childish illusions about the matter, but bravely renounce his liberty and humanity.

Does this mean that no matter how perfect you try to be, no one can achieve true perfection in life and never sin again in any shape, way or form? Please refresh my mind on this, as knowledge is power, and I would like a fellow christian to help me in garnering its meaning.

                              Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Dearest friend; if you read that verse, it says "for all HAVE sinned". Many false christians will try to get you to believe that you are in a constant state of sinning. That is not what that verse says.

"Have" is past tense. Not current. When we become christians, True Christians(tm) we stop sinning. If you don't then why would you consider yourself a christian. You are one of two things, a christian or a sinner. You can't BE both.

When you become a True Christian(tm) you are forgiven of your past sins; then you stop doing them.

                              Which are you?
