On this forum I am Zerashk. I will not disclose many personal details, like my name and stuff. I will however discuss my faith.

I am a Christian, and have been my whole life. I am a Roman Catholic, and have been since I was like 10. Technically I was before that, but i didnt know what that meant. I love God and Jesus with my whole heart, mind, a soul. I am working on body...

I have talked to Mormons about their faith, and find it interesting... at least for the values. I dont think it likely that any of it is true. And I have prayed about it, and know that Catholocism is the true religion started by Jesus from that.

I am not sure what those on this forum believe but am interested to find out.

Also my cousin, yes she is an Atheist but that doesnt matter as she is a great person, is suffering from depression. Could you all please pray for her to a) recover and b) see the light of Jesus on her way to that? Thank you all

    Anyway, my interests:
    Music (is my life)
    Art
Strategy (like RTS games, board games, etc)
    God (duh)
    Logic
    and Love

I am a huge fan of the Beatle's philosophy of "all you need is love". It is so true. Through love all questions an be answered, and all relationships can be fixed. Love is a sure way into heaven, because there is no way to truly love everything around you, nature, the people, the animals, etc and not see the glory of God the Father who created it all. It is impossible to hear of Jesus and his great sacrifice and not be moved to him by it. It is also impossible not to act on faith and to just sit there idly.

Corinthians 3:16 says "So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth." We must not sit idly, but instead act on faith and fulfill that in the gospels which is to
    1) feed the hungry
    2) give water to the thirsty
    3) clothe the naked
    4) welcome the strangers
    5) visit the ill and the sick
    6) pray, worship God, and above all respect his Holy Name.

    You forgot,

    7) Not worship idols.

Don't worry catholics always forget that one.

Can you back up your claim that the catholic church was started by Jesus?

@Jack, youre right. I combined that with 6, as respecting him means following his commands to only worship him, but whatever... I am truly sorry about that.
@Flame thanks for the warm welcome bud. Why is it that Catholics are not Christians? All other churches branched off from the Catholic church, it is the original.

You use the word "duh" a lot, don't you.

That's not very respectful, especially in reference to GOD.

So you admit that you lied about your age to sign up for a Christian church's discussion forum. What else have you been lying about?

              Perhaps being Christian?

Tell me, what is someone who tells lies called?

              A liar.

              Is lying a sin?

              Yes.

              So what is a liar?

              A sinner.

And what does God do with sinners?

He resurrects them from the dead so He may burn them alive in His Lake of Fire for all eternity.

              Freedom of speech?

Freedom of speech (in the United States) means the GOVERNMENT will not restrict your freedom of speech. It does not mean you have the right to join privately-owned websites and yammer like an idiot and not get banned.

              Understand the difference?

As for Catholics being "the first Christians", please point out in the Bible where Jesus told Peter to pray to His dead mother instead of to Him.

Oh, you're 14. That explains your rancid attitude towards others, especially your elders.

Do you know what the Bible says about your elders?

Just wondering what is the whole point system? It says i lost 100 each time... what exactly does that mean
If you are losing points, it means you are misbehaving.

In order to stop losing points, you should avoid using mean or sarcastic language, avoid false versions of the Bible (use the KJV only), avoid being a Roman Catholic, and avoid only partial adherence to scripture.

We follow the whole Bible, not just the happy bits.

You need to get into the habit of thinking about what you say before you say it. Your posts here are permanent.

Also, freedom of speech does not apply in privately owned forums, nor does it apply in Heaven.

If you are a Muslim, Catholic, Pagan, or other non-Christian, and you are here for some interfaith dialog, then this section is for you.

Welcome, friend. If you are here in a spirit of peace and wish to learn more about our religion, and want to teach us more about your religion, then you are welcome here. If you are here because you think we are intolerant of your religion, then please go back and read the previous section.

Keep in mind, however, that most of us are well educated. If your religion has been around for a while and has a large enough following, then it is likely that we have already studied your religion in depth.

Also keep in mind, that our religion tells us that salvation comes only through Jesus Christ, and that if you aren't a Christian, then you will be damned to the fiery pits of Hell for all eternity. We aren't gloating about this. We treat this fact with all of the solemnity that it deserves. We will not give up on you until we have saved you from this fate."

Thats me. Thats why I came here. Interfaith dialogue. And of course my one rant about thinking one of your threads was stupid... but hey thats just one. And while we are at it, Reverend, I would like our popeish friend to tell us what the Bible says about bishops and whether or not they should be married. I would also ask her what the Bible says about a future group of false prophets who would forbid marriage.

This is actually a common misconception.

The Bible says that we can judge people all we like, as long as we are not guilty of the same sins.

Here is the verse you've probably heard cited the most against judging others:

Judge not, that ye be not judged. - Matthew 7:1

If you stop reading at the first verse of this chapter, it really sounds like JESUS is telling us not to judge others.

                        This is what comes next:

2For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

3And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

4Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?

What JESUS is saying is that if we are guilty of the same sins we are judging others for, we are hypocrites.

He finishes the point with this:

5Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

Did you catch the most important part?

FIRST cast out the beam from your own eye, THEN you can judge your brother.

The warning is not against judging others, it is against being a hypocrite.

Often we are commanded to judge others!

Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment. - John 7:24

and please explain the point system to me... just so I know

I wanted nice talk, so ill have to settle for attacks on my faith. Whatever, I can deal with that.
Yes I am 14, no I am not being disrespectful past what many have been. Compared to many on here I am positively an angel. NO I am not saying I am one. Do not quote me out of context.

Did I lie about my age? Well, I guess I did. Is that bad though? This is a religious forum. I came here to learn about your religion. Should God be restricted by age? Did not Jesus say that we should all be like children, and be open to god? Thats paraphrasing. The actual quote is Matthew 18:3.

But then again, this is a forum. Since I am Catholic and you guys apparently hate Catholics or something... Not saying you do but based on my "award" and reactions to catholocism that is why i take out of it.

As for Mary, we dont worship her like God. We see her as the intervention to Jesus. Jesus always listened to his mother, respected her, honored her, why, other than Jesus himself she is the only one whos body is in heaven with her Spirit. She is Jesus' mother, and we believe that Jesus will listen to her. So if we pray to her, she will tell him and he will do it, because he loves, honors, and respects his mother.

Jesus says, with the beam analogy, that we cannot judge. It is truly impossible to be free of sin, that is why Christ died for us. We cannot judge because judgement is God's alone. He says so in Romans 12:19.

you know what? i dont have to defend myself or my religion to you. I dont know why i bother. You people obviously will just tear down what i say even if it is right, so I think ill stop now. if you think I am going to hell, great. I dont. I truly hope that you all let go of your anger, and see Jesus in everyone, like Mother Teresa.

My God bless every aspect of your life. Jesus loves you, God loves you, Mary loves you, no matter how filled with anger you may be. Remember that, and may the love of Christ inspire you to draw the children of this world to the cause of Christ. Thanks to all of you who were helpful, though there were few. Signing out for most likely the last time, and sorry for whatever disrespect was in my posts. And please, please, please, pray for my cousin.

Does the Bible seem to suggest it is bad to lie?

Could you provide us a reference from the Bible that says we need Mary or any other figure to intervene for us with GOD and JESUS?

I can provide a few that say we don't.

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. - John 14:6

And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven. - Matthew 23:9 (This includes priests and popes.)

And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. - Acts 16:31

Do any of these seem to indicate we need Mary, or any other "saint" to intervene on our behalf? Isn't CHRIST enough?

Jesus says, with the beam analogy, that we cannot judge. It is truly impossible to be free of sin, that is why Christ died for us. We cannot judge because judgement is God's alone. He says so in Romans 12:19.
                            He says that?

What did He mean when He said, Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

It sounds like He is telling us to proceed after we have repented and been washed clean.

Once we are born again, we are sin free. (Psalm 119:3)

you know what? i dont have to defend myself or my religion to you.
Hey, you joined our forum, not the other way around. You are welcome to leave and never return.

And please, please, please, pray for my cousin.
Here is a prayer for your cousin from the Bible:

Let their table become a snare before them: and that which should have been for their welfare, let it become a trap.

Let their eyes be darkened, that they see not; and make their loins continually to shake.

Pour out thine indignation upon them, and let thy wrathful anger take hold of them.

Let their habitation be desolate; and let none dwell in their tents.

For they persecute him whom thou hast smitten; and they talk to the grief of those whom thou hast wounded.

Add iniquity unto their iniquity: and let them not come into thy righteousness.

Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous.
                            - Psalms 69:22-28

We don't hate catholics. We merely want to save your souls.

You see the Bible clearly says that a bishop is to be a married man.

                              1 Timothy 3:2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;

You don't follow that. The Apostle Paul warns us that this will happen some day.

                              1 Timothy 4:1-3 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
                              Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.

And you wonder why it is full of child molesters?

                              Did He?
Here Jesus yells at his mother.

John 2:3-4 And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine.
Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come.

Here Jesus ignores his mother and biological siblings (so much for the perpetual virgin myth) in favor of the Apostles.

Matthew 12:47-50 Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee.
But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren?
And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!
For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.

Another Roman myth that is not biblical in nature. Show me the chapter and verse that says this in the Bible and I'll eat a cardinal's hat.
