  • Hello, It's a pleasure to meet you all

My name is Arkady, I live in Australia.
I am probably not a very good Christian in all likelihood.
But I consider myself a good person, who holds the values of equality, and benevolence above all others. At the moment, I'm in a bit of a dark place and I would love some guidance and just some friends really would be nice.
I love animals and I am an active member in many animal welfare groups, Particularly Oscar's Law. Which in Australia is a push for banning Puppy farms.

Other than that, I love reading and watching movies. My favorite books are things like Deltora and the Harry Potter series as they were the first books I ever read in completion.

I study Languages and Linguistics at university, which is wonderful fun. French is difficult for me, but I hope to get the hang of it soon, and Japanese is a beautiful language to write.

Well, I won't take up any more of your time,
It's a pleasure to meet you all, and I hope that we can get along well, I'm a little outspoken sometimes but I try my best to be agreeable even when I disagree.
Romans 1:26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
1:27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
    1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

Hi, Arklady! Welcome! Why do you hate God and reject Him?
But I consider myself a good person, who holds the values of equality, and benevolence above all others.
How can you be a good person if you're not a Christian?

    As Jesus Himself said,

    John 3:16-21

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

See? Non-Christians are evil. You can tell that they are evil because they aren't Christian. They run from His Light!

I'm not sure why you'd want to promote 'equality', unless you mean equal treatment under the law. After all, God specifies that men and women have different roles in society.
At the moment, I'm in a bit of a dark place and I would love some guidance and just some friends really would be nice.
Would you like to meet my friend Jesus? He has a Light for you!

Other than that, I love reading and watching movies. My favorite books are things like Deltora and the Harry Potter series as they were the first books I ever read in completion.
The Bible would be far more edifying.

I study Languages and Linguistics at university, which is wonderful fun. French is difficult for me, but I hope to get the hang of it soon, and Japanese is a beautiful language to write.
The Bible was not written in either French or Japanese. Why don't you study Greek or Hebrew? You know, something useful?

I'm sorry for wasting your time here, I feel entirely uncomfortable with many of the things posted here, sexist things, racist things and plain bigotry. As I stated above, I'm in a bad place at the moment, I had thought I large, Christian community would be a wonderful place to help me.
Unfortunately, while I'm sure Individually many if not all of you are charming, wonderful people.
      Together, it's disturbing.

I beg you not to leave friend! Jesus has brought you to us for a reason, and that reason is so that He can shine His blinding light of love into the private and darkest, most secret recesses of your currently unclean life. Please let Him save you!

Don't tell me you're going to turn your back on Jesus, just as He's brought you to the door . . .

Yes, there are many sexist, racist, and bigoted things said on this forum. There are atheists and Islamists and other God-hating people coming here all the time. They insist that women should be forced to work jobs instead of doing as God commands and raising children. They also demand that people of different races, who have different capabilities (and certain of whom are cursed by God), be considered not just "equal under the law", but truly "equal" -- interchangeable! And the things they say about homosexuals . . . It's horrible, Arklady! They want us to tell homosexuals it's OK for them to be gay. Even though God says in the Bible that He considers gayness an abomination and that He will burn them in His Hell forever! How horrible, to lie to homosexuals so they don't turn to Jesus!

Indeed, that is terrible bigotry. I agree that it is disturbing.

You don't want to spend eternity in His Lake of Fire, do you? It will be MOST unpleasant, being burned alive forever and ever!

Please, come to Jesus and leave the darkness for the Light of His Unconditional Love! All you have to do is obey His every command and give up your modern, secular humanist 'values' in favor of His Law. Is that so much to ask for an eternity spent praising Him in Heaven?

          I will pray for you.

Are you one of those awful stinking abos? We encountered some of them during our Mission to Austria a couple of years ago, and I'll be honest I took them for monkeys.

Considering yourself a "good person" doesn't mean a thing. Please read my sermon on that very subject HERE.

Well of course you are in a "dark place." You live in a cursed land full of drunken savages who brag about their criminal past. The only way out is to embrace Jesus fully.

I hearty hello to you, Arka...whatever. I must confess I'm a little confused by two things you said, which appear to contradict each other:

How in heck can you be a university student when the only book you've ever read is Harry Potter? Did you get in through affirmative action or something?

Re: Hello, It's a pleasure to meet you all

Hello to you as well Faith,
I have actually read a lot, I just hold these two books in high esteem as they are the tools that taught me my most favored ability, which is reading, and as such they are most dear to me.
It is also through these two books, that I had the wonderful experience of spending time to bond with my mother.
And now that my sisters are grown old enough to read also, I get to experience them all over again. It's a joy above all others.

And to the dear-heart above you,
If I am aboriginal in part, it is only due to slavery. But this place seems fond of that.

Welcome arkady! You didn't tell what Bible verse is your favorite, and which church you attend!

What's your favorite hunting rifle? Heard you have a serious problem there, with 'roos eating the grass for sheep and all, so you should have considerable hunting skills, right?

One question that's been nagging me though...

You don't "love" love 'em right?

Wouldn't be surprising from a Harry Pothead fan, seeing Lupin is just a walking Leviticus 20:15 disaster waiting to happen, but please. Try to control your urges.

                  Jesus begs you.
John 20:27: Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.

Personally, I would really like to see the Biblical basis for trying to ban puppy farms. I, and others, would also like to know why you have not read the KJV Bible in completion? For many here, that was their first book. And these people seem like decent, God fearing people. I would suggest reading....
