    Help me understand

First, I'm a Presbyterian, never too involved in religion. I pray nightly and try to be a good person.

I've been reading this site and I'm just very confused. You people from the LBC talk about how the KJV of the Bible is everything and you follow it to a 'T', but you don't.

Just help me understand these things:

For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. (Matthew 6:14-15 KJV)

In my reading of that, I take that you should forgive people for their sins and accept them. You all take no part of that passage and show hate and bigotry and go so far as to pray for people's deaths.

Another of your threads explains how if you are divorced then you are going straight to hell, yet one of your senior pastor's has been divorced several times. Does that mean he is going to hell or is there some out, where he has given himself to God so he gets to do what he wants?

Matthew 5:21-24 “You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not murder; and whoever murders will be liable to judgment.’ But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother will be liable to judgment; whoever insults his brother will be liable to the council; and whoever says, ‘You fool!’ will be liable to the hell of fire. So if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar and go. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift…” (Jesus’ words)

Colossians 3:8, 12-13 But now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth. Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.

You all might try to practice what you preach. If the LBC represents religion then I have no doubt why there are more Atheists than ever.

    Dear NigraTool;

This is called the INTRODUCTION section for a reason. It's not the "let's piss in Christ's cornflakes" section.

If you'd like to find out more about Landover Baptist Church, please read THIS thread created especially for new posters.

      Re: Help me understand

      I'm actually white

I'm an adult, who works. Again, if you didn't catch it, I'm Presbyterian and religion isn't the most important thing in my life right now.

      Back to my questions.

      I've added another one,

Mark 10:31: "But many who are first will be last, and the last first."

Don't think the Bible condones you thinking you are better than me because you are a "True Belieber"

WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? I ASKED QUESTIONS.

Did they not teach you anything at that "Bible College". I asked legitimate questions that warrant a legitimate answer. If you don't have the answers or the knowledge to provide me these answers then please feel free to leave this questions to someone a little more learned in the subject of religion.

Where does that verse say anything about acceptance? We forgive people all the time here for the things they do to us. We do turn the other cheek with perfect humility.

Another of your threads explains how if you are divorced then you are going straight to hell,
I didn't explain that. Jesus did. They're His words not mine.

yet one of your senior pastor's has been divorced several times. Does that mean he is going to hell or is there some out, where he has given himself to God so he gets to do what he wants?
His wives either cheated on him or they fell away from belief.

1 Corinthians 7:14-15 For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy. But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: but God hath called us to peace.

If he is telling the truth, God will forgive him. If not, he needs to leave his life of sin behind. Only God knows for sure.

First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift…” (Jesus’ words)
Amen. Now look at this thread that answers those questions.

Who are our neighbors? Who are our brothers and sisters? Who are we to love?

Colossians 3:8, 12-13 But now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth. Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.
Oh, we are very forgiving, but we are also fighters like Jesus was.

Matthew 10:15 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.
Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.

You all might try to practice what you preach. If the LBC represents religion then I have no doubt why there are more Atheists than ever.
We do practice what we preach in perfect love and as the Word tells us to.
Christians are superior because we possess an understanding that unbelievers lack. It is through the Power of Jesus only the converted mind is able to understand what is going on in the world; what the Communists are really up to; what Satan's intentions are. Most unbelievers do not even believe in Satan and cannot understand his tactics.

Of course it does. We are better than you, because we are preordained predestined servants of Jesus Christ who calls us.

              1 Cor. 2:10-16
But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
12Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
13Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
14But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.
For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? but we have the mind of Christ.

Yes, Jesus does mention it in the book of Matthew ch. 19,

7 They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away?
8 He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so.
9 And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.

but I still believe He wants us to live without wives if we get a divorce. I don't judge my brother in Christ. That is between him and God.

Still, Jesus tells us that he would rather us have our testicles removed than divorce and remarry without cause.

11But he said unto them, All men cannot receive this saying, save they to whom it is given.
12For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother's womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.

No, I don't think so. I think it's quite the opposite. I know I preach out of love for humanity. We're merely the signpost pointing you to what is in the Holy Bible.

I thought not. As Brother Levi has mentioned, the Bible is quite clear that divorce is justified if the wife is unfaithful. If I am not mistaken, all of our divorced True Christian™ men who put away their wives have been made a cuckold by the wanton whores that they unwittingly married.

Women, being born in sin, are deceitful creatures by nature. That is why a barren woman cannot find salvation.

For Adam was first formed, then Eve.

And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.

Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.

Sadly, this is true. I often find myself being corrected by my husband for my deceitful nature, so deceitful it even escapes my own attention! Oh what a wicked creature is a woman, spawn of Eve, the one who brought sin and death to the world.

That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.
