The Bible you know. Does it have lots of pages ripped out or verses blotted out with ink?

Re: So exactly how damned am I?
I cannot imagine what could possibly bring you to believe this, other than you just can't stomach the idea that one of your gay friends is on a fast track to the pits of hell. God is pretty clear on this.Originally posted by Christianlover View Posti said the messages in the bible need to be interpreted with some discretion for example the killing of homosexuals i believe is not i the nature of the God, i think the message of Leviticus and the the story of the town of Sodom are not some superficial story to be taken literally but more so portray a broader meaning. Is the whole story of Jesus dying for our sins just some sort of metaphor? Do you not believe that God created the world, or do you see that story is just some symbolic tale whose real meaning we are supposed to guess? At this rate, you might is well just chuck the whole Christian doctrine out the window in exchange for .... what? Your personal view/interpretation/conjecture on what God REALLY meant to say.
No, friend. You have it wrong. We have a sacred text for a reason. Just read it. It's not more mysterious or complicated than that. What is in the Bible is God's word, not for you to change. This is clearly set out in 2 Peter 1:20.

Re: So exactly how damned am I?
From what I see, pretty damn damned.Originally posted by Karingan View PostI really can't, so get your abacus ready, because I need to know how damned I really am. Here's me in a nut shell:
1) I am female (boop! damned already)
2) I was born in Oregon (Where the homos and hippies thrive)
3) I was never baptized (My God-loving mother had to deal with my would-be older sisters death 4 short months after she was born, explain?)
4) I wear pants, because dresses are uncomfortable to wear all the time (skirts too) but I do wear nice dresses on occasions.
5) I don't dress as a whore, ever, but I was still tempted by a snake (man) and fell into his trap (crotch, if you will) and because of him I contracted Chlamydia (that I didn't know of for 8 months because of healthcare.) and now I'm 97% sterile.
6) I'm no longer a virgin, actually, I haven't been since I was raped at the age of 8 by a horribly perverted man that would have used my little sister too if I didn't but tied me up and forced me to anyways.
7) I work a security job, I'm not a stay-at-home kind of girl, I like adventure.
8) Despite everything bad that's happened to me, I found my soul mate when I was 18 and he was 16. He doesn't care for God, yet I know I am his forever. I will not force him to love God, and I respect that we share very similar views about many topics surrounding religion and politics. He respects me for who I am, and that is what makes our love perfect.
We're getting married too, tomorrow will be our 2 year anniversary.
I'm certainly not bashing anyone in this community, I'm sure you're all God-abiding citizens of a God-less nation, and you hate it. All that I ask for is respect as a human being, and an answer. I am NOT asking for harassment, so temper your minds before you cast stones. I am only looking for a way out.

As has been pointed out to you, yes, God is vengeful (Psalm 18:34). And God commands sodomites to be massacred. (2 Kings 23:7) Next.
Yes, the earth is flat (see Job 9:6; 1 Samuel 2:8; Matthew 4:8; Daniel 4:10-11).
The Bible says it. Why can't you accept it? Are we trying to vomit on the white carpet of God's pure truth with secular, scripture-twisting upchuck? I think so.
Accept the Word of God so God can accept you!

When you say God's Word is not "superficial", not to be taken "literally", and it portrays a "broader" meaning, do you mean it is cryptic and vague? Only fools and crooks write that way.
Are you saying God is a fool or a crook?

Re: So exactly how damned am I?
You say the Bible you know preaches love and that is true but it also preaches that the gays should be killed in Leviticus 20:13.
How do you square believing the Bible one minute and not the next?
Yours in Christ.

You weren't paying attention. God created evil (see above) God also created Satan. God created everything.Originally posted by Christianlover View Postso do you believe the world is flat ? i believe you may have misread my question , i said is Satan evil ? not who created evil. Re: So exactly how damned am I?
God is omnipotent and so Satan is doing what he is told by burning sinners (e.g. homers) in Hell. Here is an example of God commanding Satan:Originally posted by Christianlover View Postso do you believe the world is flat ? i believe you may have misread my question , i said is Satan evil ? not who created evil. And if Satan is evil why does he punish Homosexuals and sinners?
Job 2:6
And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, he is in thine hand; but save his life.
This is why he burns homers:
Leviticus 20:13
If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
All the best

Re: So exactly how damned am I?
Who is the reverand you're talking to and what the Hell are you talking about? All deaths in the Bible are by God's hand, some to bring the faithful to deliverance and eternal salvation, others to be damned to Hell for all eternity. Deaths that occurred at Satan's hand were at Gods behest. Do you really think Satan can kill people willy-nilly on Earth? No, that's what God does when they deserve it for not following him!Originally posted by Christianlover View PostReverend i am afraid i am straying from the lord. i recently calculated that in the bible God Kills over 2 million people while the devil only kills 10 , why? Are we not supposed to love thy neighbor ? Does satan punish evil people ? if so wouldn't that make good as he is punishing homosexuals and sinners ?
Check this out! God's judgement on the unfaithful Japs!
Shout glory!!
God created evil, not Satan.
Isaiah 45:7
I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Satan is just one of God's tools.

Not true, women are saved through childbirth.Originally posted by Karingan View PostI really can't, so get your abacus ready, because I need to know how damned I really am. Here's me in a nut shell:
1) I am female (boop! damned already)
And I was born in Canada, even worse. Does not mean you can't be saved.2) I was born in Oregon (Where the homos and hippies thrive)
You might want to get on with a baptism, forthwith.3) I was never baptized (My God-loving mother had to deal with my would-be older sisters death 4 short months after she was born, explain?)
As long as you're not trying to be slutty, I just blame that on cultural idiosyncrasities.4) I wear pants, because dresses are uncomfortable to wear all the time (skirts too) but I do wear nice dresses on occasions.
Sounds like you've already been punished for that sin. God's justice can be swift.5) I don't dress as a whore, ever, but I was still tempted by a snake (man) and fell into his trap (crotch, if you will) and because of him I contracted Chlamydia (that I didn't know of for 8 months because of healthcare.) and now I'm 97% sterile.
Sounds like you've had a rough life. My sympathies, but I'm guessing Jesus was trying to teach you something.6) I'm no longer a virgin, actually, I haven't been since I was raped at the age of 8 by a horribly perverted man that would have used my little sister too if I didn't but tied me up and forced me to anyways.
I'm all for security. We definitely need people to stop children from littering on the playground.7) I work a security job, I'm not a stay-at-home kind of girl, I like adventure.
Congratulations. But if you really love him you should probably bring him to Jesus so he doesn't burn in Hell. Love isn't letting people drive themselves off cliffs.8) Despite everything bad that's happened to me, I found my soul mate when I was 18 and he was 16. No stones, it doesn't sound like you're hopeless just yet. But buy a KJV soon and follow it to the letter, because none of us how much time we have left to make the right choice. And I do hope you make that right choice and Jesus doesn't cast you into the pit.I'm certainly not bashing anyone in this community, I'm sure you're all God-abiding citizens of a God-less nation, and you hate it.
