Arrogance - just because they're the worlds only remaining superpower doesn't mean that they are better than anyone else. In fact, I consider most countries superior to American in a lot of things, eg. friendliness, talent, skill.

And I suppose Satan admires his pointy tail more than Jesus' shining crown, too, but (as with you) it's not like it matters.
