    intro

    Hey everyone,

I've been a Christian all my life, always went to church on a Sunday throughout my childhood. Jesus has always been a constant companion to me.

What verse from the KJV provides you with the most comfort and why?
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

Hello Melogibbo! Welcome to our forums where it is all Jesus, all the time.

As a child I always went to a Howard Johnson's buffet for Sunday brunch, but I don't consider myself a pile of corned beef hash because of it A relationship with Jesus is a two-way street. He already reached out to you, but what have you done for Him? Can you share with us your personal experience with Jesus and the fruit that you have shown for Him? Jesus has always been there for you, but have you always listened to Him?

Is Jesus your mom's pool boy or her gardner? I don't know why you think your boyhood Mexican friend would be any concern to us. This is a Christian forum and I have to say this whole relationship you are describing sounds a little queer. Is "companion" another term like "life partner" a term that queers and adulterers use to legitimize their unholy unions?

You can't mean our Lord Jesus. If you had you would have followed these idiot proof directions.

The introduction forum Attention Unsaved Trash: This the ONLY subforum you can start threads in. Here is where you introduce yourself. Tell us what church you go to and what your favorite Bible verse is and how you came to find Jesus.

            Hi James,

I find the following very inspirational, if only more of our fellow men followed the good book our world would be a better place.

            Deuteronomy 15:10
Give generously to him and do so without a grudging heart; then because of this the Lord your God will bless you in all your work and in everything you put your hand to.

On that note maybe you need to reread the Bible LaQrundrellia, you more than anyone should see you aren't my better, perhaps you should get back in the kitchen and think about it whilst doing chores or whatever you do in there

In times of hardship I would turn to Jesus for guidance, I had a terrible breakup with my 1st wife who was a cheating whore, Jesus gave me the strength to get through it. What do I give back to him? I attend church as often as possible and try to spread the good word, so many non believers out there who need saving.

Finally Godfly, why would you mention such things in the same breath as our Lord? I can't take your comment seriously as it seems too strange and inconceivable to be meant in anything but jest, trolling fellow Christians is not a good use of your time though, you could be doing the work of the Lord instead of wasting your time making foolish obviously untrue statements.

Yup, let's all go back to the good old days when the earth was flat and tens of millions died of the plague.

                But now to the Scripture:

                ...Deuteronomy 15:10
Give generously to him and do so without a grudging heart; then because of this the Lord your God will bless you in all your work and in everything you put your hand to...
On what note? Why don't you read that IN CONTEXT:

Deuteronomy 15:7-10 "If there be among you a poor man of one of thy brethren within any of thy gates in thy land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not harden thine heart, nor shut thine hand from thy poor brother: But thou shalt open thine hand wide unto him, and shalt surely lend him sufficient for his need, in that which he wanteth. Beware that there be not a thought in thy wicked heart, saying, The seventh year, the year of release, is at hand; and thine eye be evil against thy poor brother, and thou givest him nought; and he cry unto the Lord against thee, and it be sin unto thee. Thou shalt surely give him, and thine heart shall not be grieved when thou givest unto him: because that for this thing the Lord thy God shall bless thee in all thy works, and in all othat thou puttest thine hand unto."

Does that really say to give ANYONE anything they want? Nope.

I like that verse. It's very nice that the Jews of that time would release one another from debts and free Hebrew slaves. It also encourages the Jews to be generous to their own kind.

                  Deuteronomy 15:7
7 If there be among you a poor man of one of thy brethren within any of thy gates in thy land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not harden thine heart, nor shut thine hand from thy poor brother:

I believe what my brother means is, that you can't really have a relationship with the LORD at the age of 3. You can't even read at that point or make a conscious decision to follow Him.

The statement seemed a bit fluffy more like cotton candy and not the meat and potatoes of the Word we follow. I'm not saying that is definitely the case, but it's the impression I got.
Christians are superior because we possess an understanding that unbelievers lack. It is through the Power of Jesus only the converted mind is able to understand what is going on in the world; what the Communists are really up to; what Satan's intentions are. Most unbelievers do not even believe in Satan and cannot understand his tactics.

Considering we don't hate blacks or messicans, I would say um, yes.

We don't believe in racism here. I have two black friends, even.
