Re: Why Am I Catholic
I once cut a woman's hair off when I observed her sitting in church without her head covered. She was screaming and crying and kicking and hitting me, but her father thanked me when he found out about it. In fact, when she got a temporary restraining order against me, he forbade her to appear at the court hearing where it would have been made permanent.
God always takes such good care of me.

Please explain why exactly I would wish to attract bees, other than to pollinate crops . . . which would be accomplished by the blooming plants instead of a distraction of bee vomit.Originally posted by Faithful Catholic View PostIn the same humble fashion??? We follow the Bible EXACTLY unless secular law does not permit it. Then it only matters if you are indicted.Originally posted by Seventy View PostIf this is the case, why don't you stone disobedient children? Or these other laws.
Absolutely. They should also sit in the back rows.A woman's head should be covered in church.
A woman should not speak in church.
I do not, everything is owned by the Hutchins Group, LLC.You should not own anything.
Only for the rapture. God takes care of the rest. You should do no planning.

George, I sense you are the kind of person who avoids the distasteful. I bet Brussels Sprouts are not your strong suit.Originally posted by Faithful Catholic View PostHi Jim, I absolutely agreed that people should have strong convictions about their faith and act on them. Don't need any more Laodiceans. And, yes we should guide the lost to Him. But, as AveMaria has pointed out so well, you do that by love and not with contempt.
The "real Christians" comment was in reply to your note about "true Christians". Since I don't feel any love I don't sense any "true Christian" here. And if what I see here is true Christianity, count me out.
In Christ, George
Isn't Love also part of devotion? Do you have any idea how much effort is expelled in trying to open the eyes of the lost? How so many give so much in the hopes of Saving one soul? Are you trying to tell me that no True Christian(tm) puts out any effort?
George, we could coddle people, tell them no matter what they do, what they believe, they are going to Heaven where everyone gets a prize. Is that Love? I do not think so
George, we are honest, simple folk. We call a spade a spade. We read the Bible. We know it is the Word of God. We know He created us. We know because of that, we are in no position to think we know better than Him. So we follow the Bible. That is what True Believers(c) do. We do not change it to suit us. That is the Love of Jesus.
Just like you do not pour chocolate sauce on Brussels Sprouts. We follow Gods Word unadulterated. No matter if we like it or not. We can pray to God to have the Bible changed. If He sees fit, He will do so.
So George, if you know something about a passage I missed in the Bible that tells us to let the Unsaved go to Hell and not to try our best to Save them, I'd like to read it.
In closing, if you do not like Gods rules, then maybe you are not a Christian. Most people are not. Most are doomed to spend eternity in Hell. They do not have to. We will help guide them to spiritual Salvation(r).

Read the Bible. Seriously, why do you doubt God?Originally posted by Faithful Catholic View PostFirst, I think it was Jim who first made that point so you can ask him as well. Second, good point. How would you know that your faith was wrong? And then, does God read hearts or does he take an inventory of your church affiliation?

According to your logic, if I'm getting ready to jump out of an airplane, and I have a strong conviction about my faith that my parachute has been properly packed, I should just go ahead and jump, even if the guy who packed my parachute for me was on drugs and didn't know what he was doing.
Never mind the fact that I'm now plummeting toward my doom at a terminal velocity of 120 MPH; according to you, I have performed an act of great virtue.

Matthew 10:16
I think you are simply confused. We believe and follow the Holy Bible down to the very letter and make no apologies for doing so. This world is full of false prophets, wolves in sheep's clothing, we must remain on our guard against heresy and false teachings. That's not arrogance, friend, that's confidence in the LORD, for His faithfulness endures forever.

Honestly, we don't want to see those who claim to be a Christian burn in hell. I mean you are professing a desire to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior (It's not like you are here screaming hail allah or some other false religious fodder).
We *WANT* you to get to heaven, but you have refused time and time again to renounce your false catholic ways. If we have to verbally smack you around a bit to "get it", so be it.
Not everyone is going to heaven, well ok, most are not going to heaven:
Matthew 22:14 For many are called, but few are chosen.
Why do you choose the losing team?

Matthew 7:13–14,21–23
7:13Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Jesus told those sinners exactly what to expect and didn't care if they wanted to be His friend. Why are you so bothered about if people like you as a friend when Jesus was braver than you about telling the Truth.

Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law. And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church
You should do no planning.Matthew 6:19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal.
Matthew 6:25-26 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
