Yes, and not just for the tardy dinner, but also for not planning ahead in case of such an incident. Women are poor managers of nearly every task assigned them, and most irresponsible and egregious when it comes to managing their time. I don't know that I would used my belt, but a backhand would be entirely in order and fair.

Yeah..this will go over big with many women. Why don't you take this message on the road? It is your job to spread the word, isn't it. This board and what ever community this is,is the only place you can spew this type of rhetoric.

On a whim? Certainly not. However, a True Christian™ husband would never beat his wife "on a whim." If, on the other hand, you are asking if I would shirk my husband's Godly correction, the answer is no. I would never disrespect the LORD by disrespecting His perfectly organized plan for the home.

But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.
          1 Corinthians 11:3

Further, discord in the home is no prize. The Good LORD has provided a means by which a married woman can provide value to her husband - accept his generous offer to help keep her from ignoring or rejecting God's Will.

Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.
          Hebrews 12:11

Now, I will tell you, as a woman, I do not particularly care for the emotional feelings that accompany physical correction, but as a True Christian™ I know that my spirit is willing, but my flesh is weak (Mark 14:38). Mr. Etheldreda, being obedient unto God, does not take his role lightly, nor does he take advantage of it.

I've spoken about it before and I am proud to share what we found long ago to be an effective and mutually respectful means to keeping peace and unity.Christian Domestic Discipline is a practical solution for those who believe in True Christian™ marriage, with the husband as the head of the household, and the wife as his helpmeet.

According to the website I linked (a fantastic resource for Christian Domestic Discipline),
Domestic Discipline (DD) marriage is one in which one partner is given authority over the other, and has the means to back up that authority, usually by spanking.
The husband is the head of the household, whilst the wife is submissive to her husband as if the Lord Himself was her husband. See Eph. 5:22-24.

The husband is to love his wife as himself, and as Christ loved the church. He is to be a servant, and leads by example. He is to lay down his life for her. See Eph. 5:25-29.

The wife is to reverence her husband. She is to obey him, so long as his instructions are not in opposition to God's commands. See Titus 2:5, Acts 5:29.

He has the ultimate authority in his household, but this authority is tempered with the knowledge that he will answer to God for his actions and decisions. The final decision rests with him, and therefore, the final responsibility, whatever the outcome, is his to bear. A wise husband will not make a major decision without prayerfully asking God for wisdom, and without seeking his wife's counsel. Prov. 20:5

I personally support this practice and can testify of its value and effectiveness when done correctly, with respect and a desire to honor the LORD.

I don't know anything about your friend. Why didn't his wife confess to the LORD her sins, pray in faith to be healed of whatever ailment she felt? (James 5:15) Mr. Etheldreda would never enable a habit of sulking such as going to a doctor for sympathy by encouraging sloppiness in my responsibilities as a help meet. The LORD knows he's a very busy man, and if he expects dinner on the table at 6:00pm, only the Rapture would prevent it from being there.

Dear, if the very heavens opened up and the face of Charles Darwin himself spoke to us that evolution was true and there is no such thing as God, I would not loose faith. If my husband were to beat me mercilessly, beat one of our children to death, I would not loose my faith. If an Angel from the LORD Himself came to my door and announced that I would never reach Heaven but will be sentenced to an eternity of damnation, I would praise the LORD in the depths of Hell for evermore. There is NOTHING that will reduce my faith, not you, not all the mountains of so-called "evidence," not my own thoughts. I live by faith, not by sight. (2 Corinthians 5:7)

Your infractions are not for "shaking" anyone up, dear. They are for your rude behavior on a polite Christian forum. We have members and followers all around the world and we expect a certain amount of decency from those who participate.

Have you ever went to the doctor when you were sick? or did you just stay at home and pray that you would get better. You do know that staph infections have to be treated, especially when a woman is pregnant.

So what is your responsibility as a mother that is carrying a child? Having concern for that child when you have a infection that can harm that child. That's not weakness, that's being responsible. This way of thinking is why religions have such a hard time getting their message across.

The LORD has never inflicted me with a staph infection, either during any of my many pregnancies or any other time. Illness is a means of communication, a loving correction, as a father lovingly corrects a son (Proverbs 3:11-12).

Such an infection could be a way to catch your friend's wife's attention. Perhaps the LORD knows this child will grow up to be bad, maybe a homosexual or even an atheist, and rather than unleash that evil fury into the world, would spare the couple. We cannot know the ways of God. That's why we walk in faith, For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face (1 Corinthians 13:12)

                          The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;

Jesus said that. Are you calling Our Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus, a liar?
It is easy to pick a scripture to prove your view, but it is harder to say,and admit to the contradictions. By now you should know that I can provide proof to defend what I've said. Just let me know if you need me to. Wait, aren't you an Atheist? Why are you defending this?

Perhaps it will help to note that Mr. Much is a hell-bound atheist on this site. He gets no more special privilege than you. I expect the pastor will take care of him personally later.
Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

By now you should know there are many references to Hell in the Holy Bible. I can provide them to you if you are not familiar, just let me know if you need me to.

                              Here's another one.

And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:

Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.~Mark 9:43-44

I am not an atheist, friend. I am washed in the blood of Christ Jesus.

I defend The Holy Bible because it is my duty, and I fear Our Lord.
The vine is dried up, and the fig tree languisheth; the pomegranate tree, the palm tree also, and the apple tree, even all the trees of the field, are withered: because joy is withered away from the sons of men.~Joel 1:12

I quoted John 8:7. You quoted John 8:7. Yours is different (wrong!) because you used the wrong version of the Bible.

                                King James Version only, rube.
