Hello my name is Myron Denehee. Im not exactly religious because time has never been on my side. I want to believe in the Lord but I need some guidance and teachings before I can honestly believe in myself that I am doing what is right to serve God.

Re: New member introduction
Welcome, Myron. I am going to give you the same advice I give everyone with this question. Have you read the Bible from cover to cover? The only way to know if you are serving God correctly is to read His Word.Christians are superior because we possess an understanding that unbelievers lack. It is through the Power of Jesus only the converted mind is able to understand what is going on in the world; what the Communists are really up to; what Satan's intentions are. Most unbelievers do not even believe in Satan and cannot understand his tactics.

Re: New member introduction
I have tried reading it and it was goos for some time I got througb Genesis and then the words and the way they were put into texts started to change and I found myself online looking for simpler ways to to understand. I havent given up yet but I was hoping maybe someone who has a good understanding of it could teach me a little bit before I get myself lost.

Of course. We have the Bible in a Year forum to help you read it.Originally posted by Scar Face View PostI have tried reading it and it was goos for some time I got througb Genesis and then the words and the way they were put into texts started to change and I found myself online looking for simpler ways to to understand. I wouldn't worry too much about getting lost. The only skipping around I would do is to read Numbers after Deuteronomy. You'll find some of the laws in Deuteronomy are repeated in Exodus and Leviticus. The historical facts from Numbers are repeated in later books.
You'll see the pattern eventually. You'll find yourself even turning between books to compare them in no time flat if you are truly interested in it.
You could also have a peek at this thread to see the true beauty and power of our Lord. Really, anything in the Teaching His Word section is gold.Christians are superior because we possess an understanding that unbelievers lack. Re: New member introduction
Sounds good thank you. One more thing I noticed is this KJV 1611. Is this what youre directing me to and if so is it easier to understand than the conventional bible I can find at a local church?

I always say, read what works for you. I'm not a fan of the modern translations, but the Kings English can be hard for some people to read.Originally posted by Scar Face View PostSounds good thank you. If you must, use the New King James and try to read the original at the same time. I don't know how old you are, but once you get used to the King James, reading secular stuff like Shakespeare, Marlow becomes easy. You can even read Chaucer a little once you understand the 1611.Christians are superior because we possess an understanding that unbelievers lack. Re: New member introduction
Hey there Scar Face! Yes, the 1611 KJV is definitely the best, and easiest to understand, version of the Bible.
For instance, let's take a look at a little bit of Ezekiel, from the English Standard Version:
Tepid and confusing, right?Ezekiel 24:7
7 For the blood she has shed is in her midst; she put it on the bare rock; she did not pour it out on the ground to cover it with dust.
Now let's have a look at how the 1611 KJV expresses the same verse:
Ezekiel 24:7
For her blood is in the middest of her: she set it vpon the toppe of a rocke, she powred it vpon the ground to couer it with dust:
I sure know which one I'd rather read!
Now then, you really have me at a loss, because I know almost nothing about you. How many sons do you have, where do you go to church, and who is your favorite Republican senator?WARNING:

Welcome to the most loving forums on the internet, Myron! You sure found the right place to learn more about Holy Salvation. I agree with others that the 1611 is the right way to go. It's an original English translation of the Word of God, with the translators guided by God's direct attention. Other translations of the Bible may soften things to suit the author in a way God never intended His words to be read.
I'm so thrilled you've come here, young man. You're 20 and in the military? Boy, that must sure be hard. All those sleepless nights in a scary place far away from home. Exercising every day in some God-forsaken place without air conditioning or full-sized towels or much privacy. Plus you're probably surrounded by so many other young men who might need a guiding hand to help them come to the Glory.Whole . .platoons of young men seeking something to fill the void inside of them. I'm on my knees praying for you to come to Christ now and witness the miracle of Him as He is risen again! Hallelujah!
Do you know when you're next R&R is? Please feel free to join us on a youth mission retreat. We can help you examine your testimonies and find salvation! Praise God! By the way, how tall are you?

Ive tried to post a profile pic but im not technical savy and cannot quite figure it out. I hope to learn as much as I can from thia Godly forum but I feel I need guidance that I cannot get directly due to my being away all the time protecting our great nation from the Muslim filth.Originally posted by Youth Minister Harry View PostWelcome to the most loving forums on the internet, Myron! What did you learn about God while reading Genesis? Whom does He favor, and why? What does He value in people? What are His attributes?Bible boring? Nonsense!

Re: New member introduction
I am sorry I cant answer your question fully as my job only gives me an hour if not less of free time but trust me I spend every minute with my nose in the bible. I have come across the creation of man and Gods power to create and He seems to favor Christians who are unflawfully faithful to his word and are without sin. Some of this may be a little off because my understanding isnt 100% but if you can help me understand it would GREATLY appreciated.Originally posted by Rev. M. Rodimer View PostWell enough, friend!

Yes, True Christians(tm) are unable to sin.
1 John 3:9
Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
I'm glad you have learned this much so quickly!
As you now know, if you are able to sin, you obviously are not a Christian, but a pretender to the faith.Bible boring? Nonsense!
