Hello! I just came across this forum and was very interested in discovering more. I am not here to flame anyone, only to gain more knowledge about this religion before I judge. I just ask that anyone who responds to me keeps it respectful. Although I am a different religion, I am not a monster, a vampire, nor am I worshipping statues of Mary. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!


Anyway, my name is Margaret and I am Catholic. Yes, I know, you are already judging but please, before you do, get to know ME! I am a cradle Catholic, which means I have always been Catholic. It has been a very long and TOUGH journey, but it is not supposed to always be easy. But here I am, with a lot of help and grace!

Some things I enjoy doing are singing, dancing, hiking, and of course, spending time with friends and family! I am also a supporter of the Pro-Life movement and try to get as involved as I can.

Now that you know a little about me, I'll try to tackle a very big misconception about Catholicism. I'm not saying you'll agree with me: actually, I highly doubt it. But I hope this will give you a bit of insight and if not, than okay.


Worshipping Mary or idols: We believe, just like you do, this there is one God and one God only. We do not worship Mary or other idols. We do honor Mary because she was the mother of Jesus and that's pretty amazing! We look to her for help because she was here on earth as well and she faced the same struggles you and I do: she had to watch her son die on the cross. So we respect Mary but only worship God. About the idols, I'm not quite sure what you think we do but we not have "idols" that we worship. If you have more questions on that, please do ask me!

Goodness, where to begin. First, I will just say that your passive aggressive attitude is a bit off putting. You claim to just want to learn from us, yet you seem intent on rubbing our noses in the fact that you are a member of the most vile of false Christian cults.

Then, you have the temerity to off handedly mention that you are in favor of preemptive infanticide. My friend, you disgust me. I will however be praying that Jesus lifts the veil of ignorance from your heathen eyes and that you eventually embrace Him as your savior, as it is the Christian thing to do.

Do you know what a "graven image" is? It's a carved image.

Exodus 20:4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

Leviticus 26:1 Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am the Lord your God.

Deuteronomy 4:21 Take heed unto yourselves, lest ye forget the covenant of the Lord your God, which he made with you, and make you a graven image, or the likeness of any thing, which the Lord thy God hath forbidden thee.

As for Mary, if Jesus didn't respect him, why should we?

Mark 3:32 And the multitude sat about him, and they said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren without seek for thee.
Mark 3:33 And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother, or my brethren?
Mark 3:34 And he looked round about on them which sat about him, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!

Luke 11:28 But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.


John 2:4 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come.
(Jesus addresses his mother as "woman" and rejects her rudely. To see just how rudely, read this old post.)

John 2:5 His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.
(The only command Mary ever gave was to obey Jesus)

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Acts 1:14 These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.
(The last time Mary is mentioned in the Bible, the apostles are praying with her - not to her)

Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
(Praying to Mary is a waste of time)

1st Timothy 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
1st Timothy 2:6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.


1st John 2:1 ...And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. (Praying to Mary - even as a mediatrix - is a waste of time)

Jeremiah 7:18 The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead their dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke me to anger.
(The title "queen of heaven" only appears in Jeremiah - and it denotes a FALSE idol.)

Sir, first off I do want to learn about this church. But it is hard to learn anything when all you do is call me unsaved, etc. If you really wanted people to be "saved" than you would spend less time on the hate and more time on actual talk. Instead of saying, "You papist, I shall pray for you" say hello and explain to me what you think I got wrong. For example, "We teach this about Mary and we have heard this about when you do from this source." So I correct you or you correct me.

Have an actual conversation!!! Yes, we are completely different but neither of us are COMPLETELY evil.

All you have to do to learn about "us" and how to get to Heaven is to get yourself a KJV 1611 Authorized Bible, read it, get Baptized by a Bible believing Pastor (as an adult) and SIN NO MORE.

2nd Peter 1:20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

And once again, go read the entire section on what is wrong with the Catholic Church.

Why are you worried about spelling when your Eternal Salvation is at risk?

Do you realize that the catlicks don't consider ANY Baptist church to be valid? Why are they so scared of people who follow the Bible to the letter (see James 2:10 for some encouragement on this point)?

Here's something fun to do: compare how many times "baptist" is in the KJV Bible, then compare how many times "catholic" is in there.

We call our Priest father. And here's what I have to say to the verse "Call no man father on earth, for you have one father who is in Heaven.

Alright, gentleman, have your bibles ready...

In Gen. 45 8, Joseph tells his brothers this, "So now it was not you who sent me here, but God: And he has made me a father to Pharoah, Lord of his entire household and ruler of Egypt." That was from KJ Bible.

Or this one, "I was a father to the poor: And the cause which I knew not I searched out." KJ BIBLE

There are more but the point is, father means protecter or a guide. Yes, God is the ultimate father but he sent other people to help us along the way. For me, including priests and my own father.
