Re: New Jesus Lover here
You can love Jesus all you want, what really matters is that Jesus loves you back. My suggestion is to lay the flattery on THICK...it could mean the difference between lounging on a cloud playing a harp for all eternity, or thrashing and screaming in a lake of fire forever with your brains boiling in your skull. Praise Him!

For example in the Garden of Eden. The text states very clearly that a serpent animal spoke to Eve. Even a child correctly interprets this as Satan. Other passages are not so easy.Originally posted by James Hutchins View PostWhat interpretation? Is your KJV in a foreign language like scottish?

It comes as no suprise that the author of the book Jesus the Jew was struck dead.Originally posted by hewouldhavepassedby View PostHi, new Jesus-following member here. I am not a Baptist, or member of any denomination. I am however obsessed with following Jesus. My standard resource is the King James Version of the bible which is what I base my faith upon. I also have a copy of the "One Year Bible", which features the "New Living Translation." I use this as an adjunct to check my interpretation. I recommend the book "The Five Books of Moses" by Everett Fox, if you like poetry. The commentary and notes are excellent. I can also highly recommend the book "Jesus the Jew," by Geza Vermes (a brilliant scholar who died this very month!). My field of study is "pre-easter" Jesus, which is a highly speculative but intriguing area of study.
