It's not going to stop anytime soon

Matthew 5:10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 5:11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
    Matthew 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

Matthew 24:9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.
Luke 21:17 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake.
Romans 12:14 Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.

Revelation 22:15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

        Re: Hi!

        Interesting.

Well I have another question and I can't post anywhere else yet so I'll ask it here.

All the beliefs here seem to be predicated on the assumptive fact that the Bible is the irrefutable Word of God.

The question has been posed as "How do you know it's the Word of God" to which the response is "It says so in the Bible."

I cannot see how you can prove the validity of something based on its own claims, when it is the validity of that claim that is itself in question.

Unless we or God are incapable of lying, then simply stating something does not imply that it is factual. If however, you claim that the Bible is indisputably the Word of God simply because that is what it claims itself to be, you also must accept that God is incapable of lying. If He can lie, then the Bible's claim that it is His word could be a lie also (regardless of whether he would even do so).

I am asserting that the statement alone is insufficient evidence (not that it is wrong, per-say). There must be an independent source.

Again, I'm not attacking, slandering, or debasing anyone's claims. I don't understand this point, but I wish to understand the reasoning.

          Dear Godmocking Whore;

Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule of worshiping satan and spreading your legs for anyone with a dollar to post this hateful message. The Holy Bible tells us that we are actually Blessed by your persecution! Thanks for proving that we're right.

Matthew 5:10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
5:11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
5:12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
Enjoy hell. I know that Jesus and I can't wait to watch you burn in hell for all eternity. Oh, how we'll laugh at you as you scream in agony! Shout Glory!!

I have not persecuted you, so I'm not sure what you are claiming. I also have not mocked God or claimed that you are wrong. I have simply asked for a substantiation of your belief, and that substantiation (not the belief) may be different than mine. You have yet to answer that question.

Why should one assume God does not tell lies?

1 Kings 22:19-24 And he said, Hear thou therefore the word of the LORD: I saw the LORD sitting on his throne, and all the host of heaven standing by him on his right hand and on his left. And the LORD said, Who shall persuade Ahab, that he may go up and fall at Ramothgilead? And one said on this manner, and another said on that manner. And there came forth a spirit, and stood before the LORD, and said, I will persuade him. And the LORD said unto him, Wherewith? And he said, I will go forth, and I will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And he said, Thou shalt persuade [him], and prevail also: go forth, and do so. Now therefore, behold, the LORD hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these thy prophets, and the LORD hath spoken evil concerning thee.

                  Jeremiah 4:10
Ah, Lord GOD! surely thou hast greatly deceived this people.

                  Jeremiah 20:7
O Lord, thou hast deceived me, and I was deceived.

                  2 Thessalonians 2:11
For this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie.

                  2 Chronicles 18:22
Now therefore, behold, the Lord hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of these thy prophets.

                  Ezekiel 14:9
And if a prophet be deceived when he hath spoken a thing, I the Lord have deceived that prophet.

But he also tells us that we must obey Him to avoid Hell.

Psalm 9:17 "The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God."

Does this make it any clearer?

Ah, I see the source of your confusion, friend! You think this fact is assumptive, when in actuality, it is a known fact. There is irrefutable evidence to show this. Really, all you need to do is read the Holy Bible with an open mind, ask the Holy Spirit to reveal itself to you. Would you like a True Christian™ sponsor to pray for you while you undergo this life-changing act? James,

if you felt ignored I certainly apologize. Actually, you asked if I had any questions and I did in fact ask some, so I actually did not ignore you and I appreciate your responses.

I did read the relative readings and I actually included what I had found while stating my question as the common "response" I mentioned. If I am in error please tell me.

And I agree, community colleges do let nearly anyone in. Fortunately, I received my degrees from a full-scale university.

Again, beyond the perceived maturity or validity of the question, I would very much appreciate a clarification for it.

I did not assume that he does not, in fact, I proposed that he does. Your scripture quotes do certainly do enforce the point that God can lie, though that was not in question. The inconsistency is still raised that if God can and does tell lies, then you cannot hold that His claiming that the Bible is His word is 100% accurate, as He may have been lying.

Again, I'm not saying it's not true, I'm questioning the substantiation, not the belief.

Hi Mary, thank you for your response. A know fact can still be assumptive. If the evidence you speak of is in scripture it is still subject to my first question. Please see my above response to Dr Niles.

God tells us to have faith.

Hebrews 11:1 11 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Faith is a wonderous gift to all humanity.

Galatians 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

With faith as our nourishment we need only hold to that faith above all Earthly considerations.

Matthew 6:25 "Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?"

God could be lying but my faith overrides my critical thinking.

                            Re: Hi!

The problem you have is you question everything, have you took the time to sit down and study the Bible? have you prayed and asked the lord to show you the Holy Spirit?.

You can ask all the questions in the world but unless you look for your self you will never find Salvation.

We have air you cannot see it but we use it, but again you can say on science proves it is there, well science is a man made vice they search for the explanation but if they can't find one they make a mathmatical equation that will answer it.

So all in all they develop a method that will answer their own questions.

Christians use the Bible where all the answers are written from long ago which proves science doesn't have all answers or made up ones.

There is only one answer to every thing that is God.

Bioggy, I am not questioning everything here, just one thing. I have plenty of problems besides the need to question things, but we are not discussing my problems nor my salvation here. We are, I hope, discussing the question at hand, which has been answered.

Dr Niles, thank you. Even though I still assert that the scripture is again subject to the question itself, your response satisfactorily answers my question. To confirm and distill what you've said, your belief that the Bible is the irrefutable Word of God and that everything in it is true is based purely and simply upon the faith that it is so.

Is this consistent with what you have told me?
