    Thought I'd Introduce Myself

My name is Nicholas Gavin Renford. I'm a man with two first names. I'm seventeen years old and struggling with how to live a Christian life.

None of my family is religious. I discovered God through my girlfriend. She's grown up in a super religious family and her family expects me to buy her to be my bride. This I am okay with.

But I'm not exactly sure how to discipline her. I never grew up with a strong Father and I never had the Lord's guidance. Any help?

    Re: Thought I'd Introduce Myself

Welcome Nick, what is your other first name? Why do you have two, is it a due to criminal acts you have committed or because of a sex change? I knew a girl name Bobbi but she was also named Bobby. I figured it out when she was shaving her goatee before Church.

I think you need to read the Bible a few times. Then come back. Enjoy!
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

      Re: Thought I'd Introduce Myself

My other first name is Gavin. I really don't know why, just that my parents wanted to give me two names. So Nicholas Gavin has been my name since I was a kid.

As far as being a criminal goes, I have a clean record. And no sex change. I was born male and I will die male like God intended.

I've read the Bible. I've been Christian since about a year ago. Is there any specific scripture you could point me two?

        Re: Thought I'd Introduce Myself

I understand your last name is Gavin. You did not tell me what your other first name is and why you need to live under an alias. You do know, God can see right through you charade, you are not going to fool Him. He has seen it all.

I pray for you to die soon and be with Jesus.

Here is some scripture for you. It seems apropos
        Proverbs 26:3-12
3 A whip for the horse, a bridle for the ass, and a rod for the fool's back.
4 Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him.
5 Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit.
6 He that sendeth a message by the hand of a fool cutteth off the feet, and drinketh damage.
7 The legs of the lame are not equal: so is a parable in the mouth of fools.
8 As he that bindeth a stone in a sling, so is he that giveth honour to a fool.
9 As a thorn goeth up into the hand of a drunkard, so is a parable in the mouths of fools.
10 The great God that formed all things both rewardeth the fool, and rewardeth transgressors.
11 As a dog returneth to his vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly.
12 Seest thou a man wise in his own conceit? there is more hope of a fool than of him.

Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

Hello. It's nice to meet you.

Yes, I've been looking up some Scripture that pertains to marriage and relationships and I've really been praying about it. Like I said, I never grew up with Christ and having found Him, I want to do everything I can to serve Him, and that includes on how I should act towards my future wife.

Hi, Nicholas Gavin, great to meet you. I think, some great Scriptires about marriage can be found in Genesis 2:22-24, Deuteronomy 24:5, Proverbs 5:18-19, Proverbs 12:4, Proverbs 18:22, Proverbs 19:14, Proverbs 20:6-7, Proverbs 30:18-19, Proverbs 31:10, Matthew 19:4-6, 1 Corinthians 7:1-16, Ephesians 5:22-23, Colossians 3:18-19, Hebrews 13:4-7, Mark 10:6-9. This will be a good start.
Joshua 1:6: "Bee strong, and of a good courage: for vnto this people shalt thou diuide for an inheritance the land which I sware vnto their fathers to giue them".

Thank you so much! I'll reread this and pray about what God thinks I should do! I know that my future wife needs to be disciplined. (I can only imagine the things she would get up to without a man's guidance.) I'll ask her father his opinion as well. I know he disciplines his wife. His wife calls her husband sir, which I think is essential in showing respect. Anyways, thank you for your help.

No problem. I pray that God will be the center of your marriage and that both of you will put Him first in your lives. When that is the case, everything else falls into place. Matthew 6:33 is a good text to stick to and live by.

I take my girlfriend to Second Baptist Church. Her family has been going there for a long time, and since they are the ones that introduced me to Christ, I attend their church. As far as heathen habits go, my parents never really encouraged masturbation, but they never told me it was wrong. My father encouraged pornography and I stumbled upon some as a young child. My mother is also very disobedient and my father allows that, by taking a very relaxed attitude in running the family. At around fifteen years old, I was in a bad place. Masturbation, pornography, alcohol, ect. But when I found the Lord, Jesus Christ, at sixteen, my life changed. I've prayed and prayed and prayed for forgiveness, and have been striving to live a life that He would want me to ever since.

Hmm, marrage you say? I would recommend Numbers chapter 5. Numbers chapter 5 is very important since it tells you how to abort, er i mean how to make your wife have a herbal induced miscarrage when she starts cheating on you. Since you have no idea how to instruct or disipline your future wife that knowlege will surely come in handy.
