Hi.

My name is Steve and I am from England.

I have Tourettes Syndrome, so I have been banned from all my local churches. I hope that doesn't bar me from posting here.

My favourite passage from the Bible is the one made famous by Samuel L Jackson in the movie Pulp Fiction. Here goes from memory:

"And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee." Ezekiel 25:17 My absolute favourite bit of the Bible, that. (Get the DVD, it's just before he shoots the drug dealers).

Sorry, I haven't read much of the rest of it.

Anyway, I hope you are all well and enjoying the weather (Except the tornadoes, obviously).

Hello Steve, and welcome to our friendly forums! I'm curious as to why you don't ask the LORD to remove your Tourette's curse. Perhaps it's because you don't really and truly trust Him, you don't believe He can actually do it. It's a shame that you're holding back in faith. Perhaps part of the problem is the Bible version you're reading. Which translation are you using?

Hi. Learning God's Word from Pulp Fiction will not get you far. It is much better and more reliable when taken straight from the Holy Bible. Try it, it will do you good.

Tourettes is indeed a curse. I do trust God to sort it out for me. I only hope the next time I seek spiritual help about it, the pastors and nuns can be more understanding. It is difficult.

My Bible has had the cover torn off ages ago, so I am not sure which version it is.

Nuns? Why on earth would you want to go to a catholic nunnery for spiritual help? Cathlics aren't even Christian.

Many works of men quote the Bible. That is a good thing, I guess. However, the Bible itself is a lot more informative than just random quotes. Read it, all of it, and don't try to piece it together from movies. It is very difficult, will take infinitely longer and there is no guarantee you will get the whole thing in the end!
