More generally, since you reject so much of the Bible, why consider yourself a Christian? If the Bible cannot be trusted to describe the world accurately, how can it be trusted to describe God's plan of salvation accurately?

No it's not. Jesus says that Creation is a fact, so that is a fact. Even secularists don't think evilution is a fact. That's why the call it theory of evilution.

It is true that every Christian is a tool.

Rom 6:13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

Science will never be able to explain through worldly wisdom. To scientists the message of the cross is foolishness.

1 Cor 1:21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

It's that foolishness that's the power of the Gospel.
