You see, their holy book tells them that when people persecute them for their religious views, it proves them right, but they're not allowed to do anything about it (they have to follow secular laws about murder and terrorism and all that stuff).

Your holy book, on the other hand, says that when people persecute you for your religious views, you are commanded to kill them, no matter how many innocent and otherwise uninvolved people happen to get in the way, because as much as your Allah hates to be insulted, he never actually seems to get around to doing anything himself, instead relying on his millions of dedicated followers mindless drones to enforce his will (as described by an illiterate, goatherding pedophile with megalomania).

Yes, I agree with you. We should totally pretend that there's nothing wrong or bad about a destructive belief system which encourages violence against women. Making a person who adheres to such a belief system feel comfortable and safe in his beliefs is far more important than addressing the terrible consequences of his dogma, and making him feel nice is far more important than standing up for all the innocent people who've been harmed by his religion.

If you want to take parts of a religion and blow it up, of course you can get the wrong meaning or promote the wrong ideology.

For example, one of your fellow members quoted your version of the bible where it says:

Luke 19:27 "But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me."

Does it actually mean all of you Baptists should go out and kill all the non-believers? If so, i think i'd have more claim to being a tad upset about your religion, than say Islam. That quote is promoting violence, and murder, is it not?

I still show respect to you, regardless of your beliefs.

Also, if you're wishing to convert people, it might help to be a little friendly.

That's actually just slightly out of context , but if it got you or someone else reading this to actually check out a Bible, then all's good.

But the parts of the Koran that tell the faithful to put infidels (that's you) to the sword are unambiguous. Just read the Koran for yourself and you'll see. Of course, if you ask a Muslim about those passages, they'll say that you aren't "understanding" them properly, and that there are other places in the Koran where Mohammed says to treat those of other religions fairly. This is true, but what they won't tell you is that the "nice" parts are contradicted by stuff that came later (that's not so nice) and the later bits override the earlier stuff (if the Koran was arranged chronologically, it would be a lot easier to keep track of what's "divinely inspired truth" and what is, essentially, toilet paper). That's called "abrogation". They are allowed to do this by the concept of "al-taqqiya", where they're allowed to lie about anything (they're even allowed to deny Mohammed and Allah ), if their safety is threatened or Islam will benefit somehow from their dishonesty.
