    Hello fellow Baptists!

I have been out of the loop for a while, so sadly I cannot proclaim a church as my own, yet.

However due to recent events, (a very dear friend died in Iraq ), I have come to begin pondering my own life. It is this being out of loop with God for so long that I need some friendly advice for choosing the best church to support our Lord and Savior.

Lets not have me forget the rules of the forum!
My two favorite Bible verses are:
    1) Genesis 1:1-1:31
    2) You drove out the pagan nations by your power and gave all the land to our ancestors. You crushed their enemies and set our ancestors free. -Psalm 44:2

      Re: Hello fellow Baptists!

Welcome, Nomadic Walker, to God's favorite forum! I'd recommend joining a KJV-only Independent Fundamentalist Baptist Church.

So what's stopping you from getting down on your knees right know and surrendering your life to Jesus?
sigpicMt 21:42, 44 Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes . . . ? And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.

Bob, I was just trying to say he died fighting for us and im still a little sensitive about it. But I understand what you are saying Brother.

Pim- its about setting the record right and finding a good group of Baptists to help me if I should stray from the path again. I should have been more clear, what qualities should I be looking for in a church? What with so many pretenders it can be hard to be sure.

Yes! YESSS!! As brother Pim says, throw yourself flat upon your face in submission to Him, with buttocks aloft and mouth agape in supplication! Be filled by the grandeur of His love! Shout Glory!!

You should look for a church that follows the KJV 1611 to the letter. Do the women wear hats in church? If so, that's good (1 Cor 11:5). Are women allowed to lead the worship service or teach Sunday School? If so, that's bad (1 Tim 2:12). You will know a good pastor by his fruit (Mat 7:15-20). If he gets caught in a sex scandal in 20 years time, you will know he was a false teacher after all.

Thank you Pim, I have found a church not too far from where I live. Its even walkable, so the kids and I can get some more excersize into the schedual.

I feel a little less nervous about going to this church because of the advice you've given me.

So far you've been the only one who's given me good advice.
