Well, so far you have mistaken secular for sector, nitrated for born and mutual for neutral (possibly - this is just a guess. Who even knows what you meant by that?).

I think you may be forgetting that your language is a little different to ours. Mutual is another term for neutral in the north west. I speak a little different. Also why do you suppose that I am not English when I have been born and raised in England. And please may somebody answer my question?

No it isn't. I grew up in Cumbria and I have never heard the improper use of 'mutual' for 'neutral'.

Most of us were raised to believe we'd go to hell if we didn't believe in Jesus so that as we got older we would choose Christianity.

We can easily say that it's the word of God but thinking logically how can we be 100% sure? We can't, because it dates back so far we could never meet the writers.
So. You're asking if it's possible that many authors over many centuries could just make up stories that could be compiled into a single book that is perfectly coherent, internally consistent and infallible. What are the odds? The best way for you to find out is to read the Bible for yourself.

They don't say it in Lancaster either, Dr Niles. Confusing these two particular words, so very different in meaning, may be at the heart of this young lady's cognitive difficulties. But you are the psychiatric expert, not me.

No point trying to talk sense to the Blackpool pre-teen brigade, Brother Faith_Machine. They come back again and again with their dumb questions (which Dr Pendergast answers so patiently), but never actually learn anything. It is almost as though stupidity is part of the goth lifestyle choice.

I am getting slightly offended about you making me out to be of low intelligence. I am not a pre-teen either, I am 15. Yes I am young but I just want answers. And being a goth doesn't fault my intelligence!

Anyway, about the question, it seems unlikely I am aware. But imagine this for a moment. Say Christianity didnt exist and then one day one man or woman chose to write a book. Claiming they saw these miracles happen. This was a mere commoner and people just carried it on and believed it. That's the only way I can look at it. How do you see it so literally?

We take it literally because the Bible claims to be the divinely-inspired Word of God.

2 Tim 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

2 Pet 1:20 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

The Bible claims to be perfectly preserved.

Ps 12:6-7 The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O Lord, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.

And the Bible claims to be infallible.

                            Jn 10:35 If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;

While the people who wrote the books of the Bible may have been primitive and uneducated, their inspiration came from an omniscient source. The fact that so many Bible stories seem far-fetched tells me that they must have really happened. Who would dare make up such stories, for fear of ridicule?

Kitty, have you confessed your sins to Jesus? Have you asked Him to take control of your life? Have you begun reading the Bible in order to better know Him? Do you pray to Him on a daily basis?

If you can not answer yes to all of those questions, you can not possibly understand our knowledge that the Bible is God's inspired word.

Jesus is the Word made flesh, and it is our direct, personal, firsthand experience of Him that inspires our understanding of scripture.

Jesus is knocking on the door to your heart right now, this very minute. I pray that you will open up and let him in, because you'll have a much easier time understanding the transformative truth and power of scripture once you have Him inside of you.
