    Re: Hello and some questions

It is pretty clear what is going on here. Miss Hope is brought up in the church, has some doubts, leaves it, and then comes back. but the doubts remain, because she finds Christ inconvenient. Jesus wants her parents to be married (Hope's father never married her mother, who in turn opened herself up to him before the marriage and got pregnant). And Jesus condemns divorce (Hope's mother's husband also got divorced at some point).

So now Hope comes here, to Landover, because here is the only place where she finds true Christians to answer her questions. It's the right move, actually. But what she wants is for us either to say "Oh, no, Hope, you misunderstand. It's OK that your mother had premarital sex and your stepfather is fine in the eyes of Jesus." Or, alternatively, "We have no Biblical support for our positions."

Sorry, Hope. But we are right and the rules you find "offensive" are God's rules, not ours. You came for answers. You got some. But why are arguing about what you read? Why blame us if your mama was a slut? We ddidn't make the rules; we just live by them.
"Come Unto Me. Put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath." (Matthew 19:14, Job 1:11).

      Hello searching_for_truth.

I like your name Hope one of my favorite Bible verses has the word hope in it it is Ecclesiastes 9:4 it says:

For to him that is joined to all the living there is hope: for a living dog is better than a dead lion.

Earlier in that chapter it says to drink wine with a merry heart that sounds nice if I had a dead lion I would make a rug out of him and I would lay on it on my side and drink wine with a merry heart.

      Thank you.

        Re: Hello and some questions

I am well aware of what transpired between ham and Noah. But to base grounds of white Christian supremacy on that, is not only absurd, it also nullifies Christ's command to go into ALL THE WORLD. if, as I have seen many claim on these boards, only white people can be saved, then Christ's commission would have had to read "Go ye into all the white nations and preach the gospel." It also comes to the point that none of the disciples nor Christ were Caucasian. They were Jewish. It also makes pointless Philip being sent to the ETHIOPIAN eunuch to preach the truth unto him. And for a group who claims to know science enough to debate with atheists, yet completeIy ignores it when the mood strikes them, you seem to know very little actually about science and the universe that God created, not only to glorify him with things that can be seen with the naked eye, but also things that must be discovered through technology and science.

For one, they are my ADOPTIVE parents. Not my step or biological parents. And my birth mother was raped by someone she did not even know. She was not a slut. In fact, her "religious" parents kicked her out of the house when they found out she was pregnant. And I am not trying to blame anything on you. I am trying to understand what it is that you believe, as it is quite different from how I was brought up. I was taught that salvation thru faith is for ANYONE who believes and repents, regardless of national or ethnic heritage or family situation. Christ spoke kindly to the Samaritan woman at the well who was living immorrally. He did not condone her life, nor would i, but he did not "slut shame" her and tell her that salvation was out of her reach because of her life. He also forgave the murderer who hung on the cross beside him and gave him a place in heaven. Another example, the woman caught in adultery, Christ did not condemn her, but told her to "go and sin no more." Also considering the story of Ruth the Moabitess. She is in the line of Christ. I am merely trying to understand where your condemnation of others stems from as I do not see that in Christ.
And to clarify, I do not find Christ "inconvenient". He is my Lord and Savior. I would lay down my life before giving up my faith. Where my doubts and insecurities come from is the (what appears to me to be anyways) hypocrisy I see all too often in fundamental Christian circles.

Anyone can be saved, racialism is not tolerated on this forum. Of course, to be saved negroes have to leave behind their old pie-stealing and welfare leeching ways. Is that asking too much?

I think this young lady lied to us about being interested in the Bible. It seems that was just a pretense to come here and engage in race baiting.

So I'm supposed to dig through 200+ posts in that thread to try to find something that doesn't exist, and when I'm unable to, it'll be my fault, huh?

...As well as other places that I am not inclined to hunt down at the moment.
Oh, well, I'll just take your word for it, then? Just like with every other claim you've made here?

This is why I like dealing with the True Christians™. When challenged on a claim they make, they put up the Scripture that shows why they believe what they do.

The same honesty would be appreciated from the visitors here. I'll not hold my breath, tho.

                      Re: Hello and some questions

                      Hello Hope!

Welcome to these forums; I am Elizabeth and am one of the younger women here (I'm 17 and happily engaged). I was reading through your posts and was wondering what church do you attend?

Also, please remember that the KJV Bible is true and perfect. Please see the below verses:

For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe. 1 Thessalonians 2:13

As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him. Psalms 18:30

As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all them that trust in him. 2 Samuel 22:31

Finally, one big thing that you need to remember is the role of women here. Women are naturally made by God subservient to men. In addition, we are more sinful as seen in Eve's fall, not Adam's. We are made weaker, quieter, and better at raising children. We are not natural leaders, strong people, and dominant people. We are made quiet and meek. Here are some verses on women and their role as women and wives.

1 Peter 3:1 "Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives;"

1 Corinthians 11:3, "But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman [is] the man; and the head of Christ [is] God."

1 Corinthians 14:34 "Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but [they are commanded] to be under obedience, as also saith the law."

Genesis 2:8 "And the LORD God said, [It is] not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him."

Ephesians 5:22 "Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord."

1 Timothy 2:11-12 "Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence."

                      I hope these verses help!
