    Re: DoF request: turkeys

    Leviticus 11:13-19

    13And these are they which ye shall have in abomination among the fowls; they shall not be eaten, they are an abomination: the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the ospray,
    14And the vulture, and the kite after his kind;
    15Every raven after his kind;
    16And the owl, and the night hawk, and the cuckow, and the hawk after his kind,
    17And the little owl, and the cormorant, and the great owl,
    18And the swan, and the pelican, and the gier eagle,
    19And the stork, the heron after her kind, and the lapwing, and the bat.

    So, if you're even considering eating eagles (or bats), think again.

      Whoa there young man!

      Let's see what our trusty KJV has to say a bit further on...

      Mark 7:15-19
      15There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man.
      16If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.
      17And when he was entered into the house from the people, his disciples asked him concerning the parable.
      18And he saith unto them, Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever thing from without entereth into the man, it cannot defile him; 19Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all meats?

      Also:

      Romans 14
      1Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations.
      2For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs.
      3Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him.

      I could also point out Acts 10:12-16.

      In other words; while some of our members still don't see eye to eye with shellfish, we do NOT follow the food laws in the Old Testament (just like we do not follow the Joo holidays).

      Yes, we as True Christians™ do follow the Bible WORD FOR WORD, except where Baby Jesus has told us we don't have to.
      Psalm 81:10:
      I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt:
      open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.

        Re: DoF request: turkeys

        Wide-Open, I am truly blessed to have the opportunity to learn from someone as Godly and well-versed in the 1611 King James Bible as yourself. Every day I learn more and, with the grace of the Holy Spirit, I am able to put these new things into practice in my own life and the life of my bride.

        I do have a question about Mark 7:15, though. It says the things that come out of a man defile the man, but it doesn't say those things defile the woman. Would that mean............um............well............maybe I'd better ask this in the "Men's Only" forum.
