People say the same thing about Harry Potter -- that it is just fiction and that it's not real. Satan has undermined the values of American families enough to trick them into inviting these manuals for Satanism into Godly households. Slowly evil will take root and one day the entire household (and the following 9 generations) will find themselves burning in Hell forever. Just because someone was misguided enough to believe that the "story" wasn't "real". Do you want to damn all of your children and children's children to Hell before they are even born? What sort of sick person would do that? For the kids' sake, I pray that you reconsider!

Everything is based off the Bible with antagonists and protagonists. Think of it this way: Voldemort (or whatever that his name is) is the Devil. And Harry Potter is an adversary of God who has to fight Voldemort. Voldemort tempts Harry and tries to decieve him, but Harry overcomes it.

Point so being, instead of saying everything is Satanic just because it's not directly related to Christianity, teach it in a way that relates to Christianity. So your kids can enjoy something in a "Christian" way.

The only thing that makes it dangerous is making a big deal out of it. If people take it too seriously, then it becomes serious. A threat.

Harry goes to a school of witchcraft; the Bible is very clear on this:

Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live.

There shall not be found among you anyone ....that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter or a witch, or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.

God hates witchcraft; hence we do too. How you don't see that is beyond me.

If it isn't directly from the Bible, it's purpose is questionable. For the same reason that the Chronicles of Narnia is a book that claims to teach "Christian Values" but is really a guidebook for goths and the like. Do not be deceived -- beware the wolves in sheep's clothing!

There is no such thing as taking the Bible "too seriously". It is written 110% seriously and meant to be taken as such. If you disagree, then you will take it up with God (and He will win).
