    John 3:16
Clearly, that doesn't mean everyone in the world. He means He came to save those who believe. See John 3:18

He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
I admit that I'm not the best christian in the world but I try to love people. And the are so many sins in this world that I think homosexuality
isn't that bad (I think it isn't a sin at all. If it is, I hope God understand, but no one, not the pope, not your pastor can change my mind) You know, you can't be 100% sin-free. So, loving someone is the best sin you can have.
Then why does the Bible say that we can live without sin?

Psalm 119:1-4 Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD.
Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart.
They also do no iniquity: they walk in his ways.
Thou hast commanded us to keep thy precepts diligently.

Here God tells Abraham that perfection is achievable.

Genesis 17:1 I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.

I can hear some panties getting into a twist over these scriptures. Perhaps you think, that's Old Testament. The Bible says, "for all have sinned." That was prior to our Salvation. I would like to draw your attention to:

1 John 5:18 We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.

How could we not be perfect if Jesus himself admonishes us to be perfect?

Matthew 5:48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

In the Book of Luke, Jesus tells us that in becoming perfect, we are like God.

    Luke 6:40
The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master.

In many of the Epistles, the authors tell us that we are perfect and can be "unblameable in holiness," like our Master Who is in Heaven.

1 Thessalonians 3:13 To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.

Colossians 1:22 In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:

Colossians 1:28 Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:

1 Peter 5:10 But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

Philippians 3:15Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.

    And most importantly,

1 John 3:5-9 And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.
Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

I don't know about you, but I feel pretty darn good knowing I am PERFECT without sin or blemish. I can't wait until we sit on the right hand of God himself and judge the world come rapture time, my perfect brothers and sisters.

I wanted to add a list of a few perfect people in the Bible besides Jesus for those you who don't believe there was anyone else who was ever perfect.

Luke 1:5-6 THERE was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth.
And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.

Genesis 17:1 And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.

    God speaking to Ezekiel.

Ezekiel 28:15 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.

    David speaking to God.

Psalm 101:2 I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O when wilt thou come unto me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.

    And

2 Samuel 22:22-24 For I have kept the ways of the LORD, and have not wickedly departed from my God.
For all his judgments were before me: and as for his statutes, I did not depart from them.
I was also upright before him, and have kept myself from mine iniquity.

And there was this religion in the area where Jesus lived, it was called gnosticism.
Gnosticism is an early form of Christianity in which the God of the Old Testament was considered to be evil. Jesus came to take over for that evil deity in gnosticism, which we know is utterly false.

I and my Father are one.

Jesus loves every gay and prostitute. Maybe he didn't like what they did, but he didn't hate them.
Then, why does the Bible disagree with this point of view so strongly?
Here's a long list of people and things God hates.

Leviticus 20:23 And ye shall not walk in the manners of the nation, which I cast out before you: for they committed all these things, and therefore I abhorred them.

Leviticus 26:30 And I will destroy your high places, and cut down your images, and cast your carcases upon the carcases of your idols, and my soul shall abhor you.

Deuteronomy 32:19 And when the LORD saw it, he abhorred them, because of the provoking of his sons, and of his daughters.

Psalm 5:5 The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity.

Psalm 5:6 Thou shalt destroy them that speak leasing: the LORD will abhor the bloody and deceitful man.

Psalm 10:3 For the wicked boasteth of his heart's desire, and blesseth the covetous, whom the LORD abhorreth.

Psalm 11:5 The LORD trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth.

Psalm 53:5 There were they in great fear, where no fear was: for God hath scattered the bones of him that encampeth against thee: thou hast put them to shame, because God hath despised them.

Psalm 73:20 As a dream when one awaketh; so, O Lord, when thou awakest, thou shalt despise their image.

Psalm 78:59 When God heard this, he was wroth, and greatly abhorred Israel:

Psalm 106:40 Therefore was the wrath of the LORD kindled against his people, insomuch that he abhorred his own inheritance.

Proverbs 6:16-19 These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

Proverbs 22:14 The mouth of strange women is a deep pit: he that is abhorred of the LORD shall fall therein.

Lamentations 2:6 And he hath violently taken away his tabernacle, as if it were of a garden: he hath destroyed his places of the assembly: the LORD hath caused the solemn feasts and sabbaths to be forgotten in Zion, and hath despised in the indignation of his anger the king and the priest.

Hosea 9:15 All their wickedness is in Gilgal: for there I hated them: for the wickedness of their doings I will drive them out of mine house, I will love them no more: all their princes are revolters.

Amos 5:21 I hate, I despise your feast days, and I will not smell in your solemn assemblies.

Zechariah 11:8 Three shepherds also I cut off in one month; and my soul lothed them, and their soul also abhorred me.

Malachi 1:3 And I hated Esau, and laid his mountains and his heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness.

Romans 9:13 As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.

Revelation 2:6; 15 But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitanes, which I also hate.

You may hate me, but God doesn't. Deal with it.
I hate you because God wants me to, friend. I don't want to hate you.
    Psalm 139:21-24
21 Do not I hate them, O Lord, that hate thee? and am not I grieved with those that rise up against thee?
22I hate them with perfect hatred: I count them mine enemies.
23 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:
24 And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
Christians are superior because we possess an understanding that unbelievers lack. It is through the Power of Jesus only the converted mind is able to understand what is going on in the world; what the Communists are really up to; what Satan's intentions are. Most unbelievers do not even believe in Satan and cannot understand his tactics.

Maybe, but it doesn't say that he loves only America.

Then why does the Bible say that we can live without sin?
Because we can, but let's be honest it's really hard. You know, I've been asking and asking and asking but still I have sins, I'm a bad person and I hate it and I wanna change (I've already chaged little bit and I'm still not 100% sin-free)

I don't know about you, but I feel pretty darn good knowing I am PERFECT without sin or blemish. I can't wait until we sit on the right hand of God himself and judge the world come rapture time, my perfect brothers and sisters.
Without sin? How can you say you are perfect when you clearly have so much hate in you? Why you won't feel bad for sinners, they haven't find God? You should help them, not hate.

      1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Gnosticism is an early form of Christianity in which the God of the Old Testament was considered to be evil. Jesus came to take over for that evil deity in gnosticism, which we know is utterly false.
      Yeah, but it still effects.

I hate you because God wants me to, friend. I don't want to hate you.
Well ask God to give you strenght to not to hate me and make you to understand me better so you can help me.

      Matthew 5:22
But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother will be subject to judgment

      1 John 2:9
He who says he is in the light, and hates his brother, is in darkness.

      1 John 4:20
If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.

      Matthew 5:44
But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,

But you know, Bible wasn't written by God, so it isn't 100% right. Maybe 99%, but not 100%.

Well, Finns are far from North Korean ways. If we were such communists, Finland would have been a part of the former USSR because we wouldn't have had a reason to fight the Winter War.

Second, Finns aren't trolls. Russians are, that's the truth. It's as simple as this: Finns smile. What an idea.

It disturbes me that some people believe they are God's chosen ones. I'm from Finland and I'm Christian. Why wouldn't God love me as anyone else?? I don't visit the church more than 5 times a year. But I like churches because they are often beautiful (the old Finnish and European churches atleast, not the stadium-like I usually see in the US). I still consider myself as a good fellow christian.

I believe in God. And as a citizen in a free-will, democratic country I also believe in reason, like the evolution. Everything can't be measured, though. I also believe, as a historian, that the Bible was written by men! What these men based their scriptures on you can't always prove.

Religion has through history brought so much pain and evil because some people, fanatics, have interpreted the scriptures in their own way. One must be flexible and think reasonably. I believe that a good christian should tolerate every culture, belief and sexual behavior and not judge everyone who's not like yourself. The world would be a much better place.

Scripture is apparently desired so may I add this one:

"So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets."

That is a rule I try to follow. And for all here on Landover: "You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name."

It is not a threat, only a reminder.

And finally: Jesus spoke hebrew, not English... Drop your accusation against Finland and our languages, you have no right.

            Have a good life

ps. You who wrote an article about letting people rape daughters. What were you thinking???
pps. What's wrong with Moomin? It has nothing to do with religion, it's only an innocent fairytale!

Hi and welcome to our friendly forums!

I can understand your sadness at hearing the Truth. However, there is Good News! You too can be one of God's chosen ones! You too can be blessed by Him! All you need to do is read the Holy Bible, believe and obey everything in it, and accept Jesus as your LORD and Savior! That's it! Easy peasy rice and cheesy!

Considering yourself a Christian is not important. What is important is if God considers you a Christian. He really doesn't care about the other details, like if you appreciate certain architecture. He looks to your soul and if He finds sin, then you will be punished in Hell for all eternity (John 3:18), as is fair and right and good. If He sees instead the Blood of the Lamb (an expression meaning you have faith in Jesus. Isaiah 44:22), then He lets you into Heaven where you will spend all eternity praising His name! Isn't that just wonderful?!!

Believing God exists isn't enough, dear. You have to believe that He meant what He said in the Holy Bible. There's no mention of evolution there, friend.

You are correct here. That is why we (True Christians™) follow what’s written in the Bible blindly, without making any interpretations. We do NEVER compromise the word of God by trying to think for ourselves.
                Stop whining
(1 Thessalonians 5:18) - In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
(1 Corinthians 10:10) - Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer
(Psalm 106:25) - But murmured in their tents, And hearkened not unto the voice of the LORD
(Ephesians 4:29) - Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers

                  • Re: Does God hate Finland?

With all due respect, but nowhere in the Bible says that Finnish/Finland is hated by God. Our Bibles are in Finnish or Swedish. The early Christian language was aramaic, then Latin, then in the 16th century, due to Luther, every person had the right to read the Bible in their own language. And this reform happened because of interpretation of the Bible. Later on you Baptists went from England to America and took English as your language. So don't tell me that English is the right biblical language. Everything evolves and develops, even Christianity, the Church and the Bible. If you would translate the "first" Bible directly into English, it wouldn't say the same. Thus different interpretations. True story.

                    What you linked:
"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost"

I am baptized in the name of God, his Son and the Holy Ghost, so is 90 % of the Finns, so your argument doesn't simply work. And I have been taught, I assure you that. That's why I've chosen to balance between the Bible and science.

And why live in fear the whole time? The fear of Hell, of eternal damnation and judgement day? Don't feel sorry of gays etc, they have their life and you have yours. The tsunami in Japan was not Gods work, it was geology. Quoting: "Us too! Wouldn't you feel awful if you knew someone was walking towards disaster and you knew the only way to prevent it but you didn't say anything? Oh the guilt! It's inconceivable!". The Japanese got struck by a great disaster and yet someone mentioned earlier, that they deserved to be punished. Where is the kindness in that?? Didn't you feel quite guilty?

I understand you want to help people, that's awesome. But do you think liberal people nowadays wanted you to help them? To "help" gays becoming heterosexual? They were born that way (if you say anything about "lesser people" you are nationalsocialists and/or communists)? To "help" a virgin girl get raped?? That is wrong. And calling us Finns uneducated, communist trolls and the author of Moomin a lesbian witch is very personal and not true. And this gives a very bad image of you baptists. Accusing people, and even countries, to burn in hell doesn't show any of your "kindness". To curse somenone in Finland to burn in hell is even nowadays a very serious matter. We've seen enough hell in this country, and it has helped us to rebuild and develop.

I get so excited and angry at the same time debating over such a matter that can't be proven. I believe that everything can't be proven, but to claim that the Bible holds the ultimate truth and proves mankind's existence on this planet is not right. And living according to a over 1000 year old book is not sustainable, therefore there is evolutionism, science, reason and the freedom to choose. Can't you guys respect that? I saw a clip on YouTube where a girl asked: "If there is no God, who wrote the Bible?" As I've earlier mentioned: the Bible was written by several people in thousands of years. The stories have been enhanced over time. How can you really prove that Jesus was the son of God? According to the Bible? No. Jesus has existed, but did he make his disciples to believe that he is the son of God? Or was there something divine about him? You can't possibly know. I believe he was the son of God, but you can't know it. To have faith in something is what keeps people going, the Bible is only one faith of many, to many Christians. And you can't force or manipulate anyone to change his faith, it's not right.

I wish you well, folks. Don't beat your wives. I'm bringing this bit of the script again: "So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets." Therefore your wives should have the right to hit back.

I've been thinking of this in a few hours now and my mind is empty. I have to go.

Thank you for the discussion, for now!

So Jesus opened His arms to you and then you kicked Him as thanks?

                      You make me sick.

The Bible is not a McDonald's menu out of which you can pick and choose which parts to follow. Either you follow the Bible for 100% (James 2:10) or you burn in Hell for all eternity (Revelation 21:8).

But we all know you never bothered to read the Holy Bible. You probably don't even own one. You insult all Christians by pretending to be a Christian yourself. You should be ashamed of yourself!

To most "Christians" The Bible is like a license agreement. They just scroll to the bottom and click "I agree". All those "Christians" will burn in Hell!
James 2:10 "For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all."

Why do you Finns hate eskimos so much? Here is a video made by a Dutch tourist in Finland proving that the Eskimo Holocaust is real:

I'm sorry you think we are amusing, Mrs Sensei, but being from Japan, you clearly have an infantile and warped view of "comedy".

You won't think it so "funny", friend, when Jesus casts you into the lake of fire.

I will pray for you, slant scumbag.
