Sweden isn't mentioned in the Bible. I was talking about truth in relation to important matters such as good and evil, life and death, heaven and hell. I trust Brother Cranky's wisdom when it comes to facts about Sweden. You can't deny Sweden is the atheist capital of the world, however, and you said yourself you're an atheist. Don't you wish you'd been raised in a God-fearing nation like the US?

I lived in the US last year. Santa Monica, CA and I didn't belive any more in God living there than I do here. Also, about drugs.. There are stores everywhere in LA that sells weed.. You can also have it delivered to your home. People in California found me to be wierd because I don't do drugs and I don't drink.. So don't say you're better..

First of all, that has nothing to do with Sweden, which we were talking about. Second, I don't belive in an afterlife.

The passages above describe hell as a place of unbearable eternal torment. But heaven is a place where you can ceaselessly worship God. If we can't understand Him, it's because His ways are beyond understanding.

Everything didn't come from nothing. I suggest that you read more about evolution before arguing about it. There are plenty of proof that evolution exists and is happening as we speak, while there are no proof of a God.

Of course there's no reliable proof of hell outside the Bible. The majority of people who've had near-death experiences claim to have gone to heaven, even if they weren't Christians, so they can't be trusted.

I have not described God as hateful and evil. That's your interpretation. All I did was point you to the passages that described hell. God is good (Ps 100:5).

Just remember that Jesus bore the punishment for God's elect, the people He decided to save. He endured terrible suffering and torment on our behalf. Was that childish? God the Father punished Jesus because He hated us. That is the extent of God's grace and mercy!

Well they wrote that they were inspired by God. That's not a proof at all.

My point. Outside of the bible (again, written by humans and therefor no proof) there are no proof that hell or heaven exist. I've been close to death, just seconds away. It was dark.. Or no, it was nothing. No feelings, no smell, nothing.

Very nice of God to punish another person.. Like he has punished millions of others. That's just sad.

If God created everything, he also created sin, evil, hate and other horrible things. Also he created a free mind. Why do that if he still would punish people who didn't obey? It makes no sense.

I feel sorry for you when you say you'd probably be in prison if you weren't a christian. You must be very weak if you can't follow the laws without the bible. I'm an atheist and I've never commited a crime. It is not hard following the laws that we have. I don't even have to read them to know what is right or wrong. I hope that you one day learn the difference all by yourself.

Why you should read it? Well, you can't say you don't belive in evolution unless you've read about it.

And yes, I have read the bible.

I still don't belive in a creator. Evolution is a proven fact. The theory of big bang is also very beliveble according to tons of experimenting on the subject. So the universe was a tiny little thing that exploded.. And so on. Just read about it yourself.

What you seem to be missing here that Christians beleive in the Bible and the fact that it presents about the character of God (Jesus).

You say the Bible is not evidence but imagine that God is real as revealed in the Bible (just for the sake or argument).

If He is real then the Bible must be correct (by definition for the sake of argument).

So we have two possible states of the universe: God is real or He is not.

Now think about the weight of evidence that makes reference to God: weigh up the evidence for God and the evidence against God.

The Bible is a form of evidence for God. It has the qualities of potentially being true. From your perspective it might be false, but you cannot say that conclusively. But, if God is real as revealed in the Bible the Bible is a true reflection of reality and therefor God is real.

So the Bible existence is evidence for God and His character is described within other wise it is not relevent to Christianity in the slightest. So we see that either God is real and His character is that revealed and worshiped by Christians or His character is so different that it is not the Christian God.

This is where the Islamics get it wrong.

I hope that shows how a Christian approaches this whole issue and how you need to be open to possibilities that are not always immediately obvious.

I do know that Christians belive in the bible. I have been studying religion a few times.

I the bible were true I would still not live by it since it is discriminating against people who for example are homosexualls. I would not be able to hate people for being different then the bible says. I would have rathered burn in hell with the discriminated people than enjoying heaven while knowing that people were tortured at the very same time.

Since we can't prove that God doesn't exist the bible is not a reliable source of information since nothing is there to support it.

Evolution on the other hand is possible to proof, feel free to read about it and learn what it says before saying it is fake.
