Brother James just sent me some pictures of Sister Phebe's menstra hut. Normally I don't like to comment on such things but I do think James is spoiling her in her unclean time.

Look at the outside. Very extravagant.



Seriously, do you think she should be swimming in her unclean time.

The bedroom looks lovely. I do have to question why she would needs such a large bed.



I know us women should look nice for the Lord. But during the unclean time a simple mirror would really sufice. Not something that would make royality jealous.



Personal hygiene is very important but a simple bath is more than adequate. Even showing. But a spa bath!



I know Brother James loves Sister Phebe but I do think it is a bit overboard. I feel sorry for Mrs Rogers having to see this considering what she had use.

Yes we are spoilt now days Mrs Rogers. Even blessed with disposable sanitary napkins.

Goodness me, you modern girls are spoilt rotten! In my day, I had to make do with a long drop. However, my husband and I had His n' Her long drops, so it was all a little bit fancy, and our dunnies had a lovely view .... bitterly cold in the winter, mind you.

Unfortunately there are no photos of my old long drop-come-menstra hut, but I did find this picture which looks very much like it (including the view and the attached "His" toilet!):



The interior was plain, but it did the job. It was similar to the following picture, with the exception that the rim of the seat was much narrower, which suited me fine. A too-wide rim leads to lazy, all-too-comfortable buttocks, and one is given to daydreamimg and flights of fancy -- instead of remaining mindful that one is menstruating: one ought to be spending her time contemplating her sinful, filthy bodily functions and begging GOD for forgiveness. Always easier to concentrate on GOD when one is sitting on an uncomfortable, cold loo.

Oh goodness Sister Lisa,

What a gorgeous menstra hut that is?

Here is a pic of mine ....



It has a single bed, toilet, basin and single burner gas cooker.

It has a skylight in the roof for lighting.

And Daddy connected electricity and hot running water a couple of years ago too.

So it was very comfortable.

As we know menstra hut's came in all shapes and sizes. Some are simple shacks to a fully self contained separate house.

Have you decorated it the way you want or have you left it to the men folk.
