Pre-Easter massacre:

It was a pretty deadly week. Can you believe it? A lot of police officers died, too. Do they need more body armor?

Is this some kind of sign of the rapture?

WEEK OF SHOOTINGS

• Sat 4 April: Father is suspected of shooting dead his five children, then himself, near Seattle
• Sat 4 April: Gunman kills three policemen in Pittsburgh before being wounded and captured
• Fri 3 April: Gunman kills 13 people at an immigration centre in Binghamton, New York state, then apparently shoots himself
• Sun 29 March: Gunman kills seven elderly residents and a nurse at a nursing home in Carthage, North Carolina, then is shot and wounded himself
• Sun 29 March: Man kills five relatives and himself in Santa Clara, California

After reading all of this terrible news, it's clear to me that the only way to stop these types of tragedies is for more people to be armed. We just aren't safe from the tweakers and nutjobs that are out there with their assault weapons and tactical gear. The police do a good job, but they can't be everywhere.

Maybe we could start some sort of outreach program, where we collect donations and then use the money to by guns for Christians who can't afford them?

We'd have to vet them of course. Actually, we should probably limit it to Independent Baptists. I'm not sure how I feel about a bunch of well armed Lutherans for example. Or, shudder to think, Methodists!

I'm all for anything that gets those atheists' tax dollars into the hands of real Americans.

It might be the way. After all those cops would have never been shot by that kid with an AK47 if they have been armed and trained properly to lay down suppression fire when ever approaching a domestic violence call.
