Safeway wants you to know how proud they are to support homosexuality. In fact, they want you to support it too!



In Safeway branded stores across America, Safeway is placing large posters encouraging you to celebrate the gay lifestyle with them during the entire month of June. We're not sure what form that celebration will take, but fear that either the deli counter (salami, anyone?) or the produce section (bananas, cucumbers . . .) may not be family-friendly for the month.

Safeway is dedicating itself to promoting homosexuality. An AFA supporter in New Mexico reported to us that her local store also included a "WE SUPPORT GAY MARRIAGE" poster. When she returned a day later to take a photograph of it, it had been removed because of the huge number of complaints by local customers.

Safeway owns and operates 1,516 stores in the U.S. Safeway operates under these names: Safeway, Dominick's, Vons, Genuardi's, Randall's, and Tom Thumb.

Safeway . . . that always sounded a little too much like they were promoting condom use for sodomites. When I lived in Fresno, I never shopped at Safeway, it made me think of queers "doing it" to each other. Yuck!

Disgusting! In a genuine free-market economy, companies would not be allowed to fag-enable like that. If they can't support traditional marriage, then they should at least have the decency to remain neutral in the culture wars.

I always shopped at Winn Dixie. A nice sort of sentiment too. On a trip South I saw some piggly-wiggly stores. I was afraid to go in them. They must be some sort of Deliverance-Ham incestous place.

I never liked grocery stores anyway. It's much healthier to get all of your foods straight from their natural sources: meat from local ranches, produce from local farms and natural high fructose corn syrup from the faces of greasy Long Island guidos.

I'd like to see a Christian Bible month at Safeway. It would be nice if they would put Bible (KJV1611) passages on all the grocery bags to remind people of the abomination that is the gay death style.

I don't ever shop at safeway because the wife and I are strict vegans and we only shop at Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, and Fresh 'n Easy. However, I am delighted to hear this news! For the whole month of June I am going to shop at Safeway, and encourage all my colleagues in the Women's studies department, and all my friends down at the Gay and Lesbian Resource Center, to all stand in solidarity and shop at Safeway!
