TUUSULA, Finland (Reuters) - Seven children were killed when a fellow pupil opened fire at a school in southern Finland on Wednesday, hours after he posted a video on YouTube foreshadowing a massacre there.

The school principal also died as the 18-year-old walked through the corridors of Jokela High School firing into classroom after classroom with a .22-caliber handgun.

The gunman is in hospital with no brain function after shooting himself in the head, officials said.

"Five boys, two girls and one adult woman were killed," police chief Matti Tohkanen told a news conference.

He later identified the woman as the principal of the school in Tuusula municipality, a town of 35,000 some 60 km (40 miles) from Helsinki.

The YouTube video, set to a hard-driving song called "Stray Bullet" by the industrial rock band KMFDM, shows a still photo of a low building that appears to be Jokela High School.

The photo breaks apart to reveal a red-tinted picture of a man pointing a handgun at the camera.

"He (the gunman) was moving systematically through the school hallways, knocking on the doors and shooting through the doors," said Kim Kiuru, who was teaching a grade 8 class when the shooting began.

"It felt unreal, a pupil I have taught myself was running towards me, screaming, a pistol in his hand."

He said the gunman had been keenly interested in war history and extremist movements. Police did not identify the student, except to say he came from "a normal family" and had a father, mother and one brother.
The weapon used in the massacre was held legally and the gunman had obtained a permit for it just three weeks ago through a gun club, police said.

The YouTube video, entitled "Jokela High School Massacre - 11/7/2007", was posted on Tuesday by a user called Sturmgeist89.

"I am prepared to fight and die for my cause," read a posting by a user of the same name.

"I, as a natural selector, will eliminate all who I see unfit, disgraces of human race and failures of natural selection."

"Sturmgeist" means storm spirit in German. Hours after the massacre, the user's account was suspended.

Lyrics to various KMFDM songs, including "Stray Bullet", were also posted on a web site maintained by Eric Harris, one of the gunmen in the 1999 Columbine High School massacre.

KMFDM's record company, Metropolis Records, said they were "extremely saddened" by news of the shooting.

As much as we often label the participants in the "Goth" subculture as being latent homersexuals, I don't think we should jump to conclusions in this case.

The Finns have nearly as many weapons strapped to their beds as we do in the US. My hunch is that the lad was out bird shooting before school, and a few of his friends failed to stay out of the way of his bullets. Unfortunate. But hardly a reason to think ill of the lad.

Good point Brother Lee. What ever the cause of this unfortunate event we can be sure of one thing; easily available firearms were not the cause of it. Doubtless we will find out just that like those Amish kids were the kids at that school were sitting their waiting for the Nanny Socialist State to save them when they should have been taking some personal responsibility for themselves and shooting back.

Filthy backwards country. Full of homosexuals and deviant drug addicts. The reason this happened is because of the acceptance of this sort of Devilish culture. Gothism is rampant worldwide and the more schools they shoot up the more the world will see that it is unacceptable behavior and outlaw it. Hopefully Finland will now embrace Jesus and allow it's citizens to carry guns.
It is also more proof that arming teachers is a good idea. The fact that firearms are practically banned in Finland made it easy for this Satanist to kill. He wasn't worried about being shot in self defense or in a preemptive shooting.

I confess I can't keep up with this. Without getting too deep, are "injun nazis" a new goth sub-sub-sub-culture, an new goth music sub-genre, or just the name of a new goth band? Perhaps since goths like to dress in black they might be part of the old Schutzstaffe (and probably cathylicks).

Do not worry, I get this all the time. Everytime a Gothic band is linked to a school shooting crime, Goths turn around and DENY the band is even Goth. Lies and deception.

You do seem a tad confused you know....

For starters, the gothic subculture has been around since the late 1970s to early 1980s. The metalheads were a separate subculture.

The music you've been describing as gothic is mostly either rock music, metal music or industrial music. Gothic music is more like this:

• Christian Death (with Rozz Williams, the most recent music with Valor Kand is metal)

• Bauhaus
• Alien Sex Fiend
• Cocteau Twins
• Cinema Strange

If anybody shoots up a school (hopefully not) and likes any of those sort of bands they might be a goth. I highly doubt any goths would do such horrible things though.

The fact is, the Goths began as a noble effort to suppress Islamofascism. They were among the very first to alert us to the imminent danger represented by the Mudslums.

You pierce bolts into your faces, tatoo your cooters, and have been known to bite yourselves and spit infected blood at people just for laughs.
