  • Cranes: collapse, fatality, and the causes

Pastors, it seems as if there are crane collapses more often these days, and that they are falling on innocent people and killing them. The Egyptians were able to build the Pyramids, the French were able to build the Eiffel tower, and you would think that we Americans, in the 21st century, should be able to build better cranes. Where are the trial lawyers???

Anyway, here's the latest story. I'm pretty sure they will find more dead bodies:
Miami Crane Collapse Leaves at least One Dead, Injured

Crane Collapse in Miami Leaves at least One Dead, Five Injured and Several Trapped. A portion of a large crane collapsed at a construction site in Miami and crashed through the roof of a nearby building leaving at least one dead and injuring up to five. Several people are reported to be trapped in the hole created by the collapse.

The accident occurred on North Bayshore Drive at a site was building a large condominium complex. Several people are trapped.

It has been just over a week since a crane collapse in New York’s East Side killed seven people.

According to CBS Report "Aerial pictures show a portion of what appears to be the crane's body lying in a giant hole in the home's tile roof. "It is standard practice when using a high rise crane for the operator to increase its height by lifting new sections into place. It's not yet known if that was taking place when the the crane section fell."

Miami police has not yet released any names.
Last week, New York suffered a similar tragedy:

Rescuers in New York have been searching for survivors in the rubble of the apartment blocks crushed when a construction crane toppled into them. At least four people were killed in the accident and 10 injured, Mayor Michael Bloomberg has said. He told reporters that three of the injured were in a serious condition. He said the collapsing crane - which had stood 19 storeys high - "basically just flattened" an apartment building on Manhattan's Upper East Side. "It's a horrible situation, very gory. There's blood in the street," said Lieutenant Governor David Paterson, who is set to replace outgoing Governor Eliot Spitzer on Monday.

    Sniffer dogs
Mr Bloomberg described the incident as a "tragic event" and said the crane had broken during a routine operation to extend its height, by inserting a section and raising its top part. "This accident is one of the worst the city has had," Mr Bloomberg said.

I heard a big crash, and I saw dust immediately - bricks were flying through the air
    Maureen Shey,
    Witness

"Our thoughts go to the families. I hope we will not find other victims." Witness Greta Welkhammer told local TV station NY1: "Everybody was running, running. It was devastating." The crane "literally split in half", she said.

John LaGreco, who owns Fu Bar in the crushed low-rise building, told the Associated Press that he had been lucky to escape the accident.
A witnesses said the crane broke in half. "Our bar is done," he said. "The crane crashed the whole building. If I wasn't watching a Yankees game, I would've come to work early and gotten killed."

The collapse also overturned and crushed cars, left rubble piled high and caused a huge dust cloud to rise over the neighbourhood. Firefighters with sniffer dogs were scouring the rubble for signs of further victims. Fire Commissioner Nicholas Scoppetta said the search was "a painstaking hand operation, as we try to remove the rubble so we don't cause further collapse or injure anyone who may still be in that building".

    Loud roar
Stephen Kaplan, an owner of the Reliance Construction Group, told AP the company had contracted the work out to another company and described the incident as "an absolute freak accident".
Ten people were injured - three were said to be seriously hurt

He said a piece of steel fell and sheared off one of the ties holding the crane to the building, causing it to detach and topple.
Residents of the area reported hearing a loud roar as the crane came down. "First I heard a rumble, and it increased, and then it increased," said Bill Reilly, who lives nearby. "It continued building in strength... it shook the six-storey brick building that I live in." Maureen Shey, who lives opposite the under-construction building from which the crane fell, said: "I heard a big crash, and I saw dust immediately. Bricks were flying through the air. "I saw the whole thing. I thought the crane was coming in my window."

    The crane missed her building.
Some people are killed by these cranes, and some circumstances allow others to be saved from a crushing fate. Is this fair?
May you be a blessing to every life you touch.

I know nothing about any cranes Nobar and I certainly wasn't in New York City in the past three weeks. God's wrath at that depraved city obviously caused the collapse.

What are you getting at Nobar? I don't see the point of bring up these accidents time and time again. They're just acts of God and it is not like someone was sneaking into to these construction sights at night and sabotaging things.

I'm not getting at anything. I don't have any cranes around here, fortunately. But some people have to live and work around these things. If it was me, I'd stay far away from them.

Hopefully there isn't any crane sabotage. That would be terrible, for sure.

I find it highly suspicious and honestly feel that terrorism is the cause. Probably Taliban Muslims sabotaging and destroying valuable property and equipment to amuse their god, Satan.

Two massive cranes collapsing this close in time can't be anything coincidental. The collapse in 99 shown might have been a warm up or a practice run. Now all cities that are being constructed must worry about imminent death from above and not the good kind like Jesus does, but the bad kind like Islam.
Armed security should be contracted and more taps on foreigners and Muslim peoples phone calls would be a logical start.
            Better safe then sorry.

Well, there you go, another crane has fallen in New York. The last one was only 2 months ago. How often do you hear about cranes falling down in other cities? What's the problem with New York anyway (besides all the obvious stuff?).

When was the last time a crane fell in Freehold (besides hunting migratory birds)?

I find Cranes and Egrets to be stringy and not very meaty. I prefer a fat owl or a nice wild turkey.

As we can easily deduce Islamic radicals have once again sabatoged yet another construction crane causing massive damage and another death. I heard somewhere the deceased was a daybean worker but it's still tragic that someone had to die like this.
Friends, cranes don't simply fall for no reason. They are build specifically to build, not to destroy so it seems logical to me that Islam is to blame here. I mean what else could explain this? We have damaged property, a giant machine mysteriously self destructing and we have loss of life and plenty of injuries. That bears all the hallmarks of Islam. The sooner America bans that cult the better for everyone else who has to live here.

If Jesus would have approved of Islam He would be named Mohammed.

Godly words, brothers. I cannot help but think, though, that this may be God's wrath. I doubt he is too thrilled about the obvious phallic symbols.

Re: Cranes: collapse, fatality, and the causes

Aren't cranes and other tall structures a lot like the Tower of Babel? Those types of things make me nervous. Anything that takes you closer to God in a physical way must be of the devil. Just last week my little nephew was climbing in a tree in my front yard. I yelled at him to get down before Jesus strikes him down! He just ignored me as usual. So I got up out of my chair and walked over to the tree and screamed at him till he finally climbed down. That boy is hard-headed. Once he was safely on the ground again, I smacked him good and hard on the cheek and made him help me back to the porch, since my energy was spent.

Why can't people learn the simple lessons laid out before them in the Bible?

You have to watch it when kids swing around in trees like monkeys. Thats how Obama started out.

Crane collapses are far too rare and unusual for so many to happen in such a short period of time.
I'm telling you all, it's Islam.

I think there may be more to this. Those infidel in Iran use cranes for public hangings.

Is it possible that the Islamo terrorist are trying to make a point with cranes? We know they work with symbolic gestures, such as internet beheadings. Beheading is highly symbolic to these heathens. Can the same be said for cranes?
