You know the drill. REAL Americans pass a law. Some pot smoking, hippie judge legistlates from the bench.
Typical activist Judge.
We need to look at the Constitutional Fundamentals here. Get back to the Founding Father's Intent(r). When it came to marriage the idea American Family in 1790 was Thomas Jefferson. Therefore marriage is clearly between a man, a woman and any black slave woman owned by the man.
It's really appalling how far we have come from our original ideas thanks to this "living document" nonsense and amendments. I mean seriously, Constitutional amendments are a stupid idea. It's like God adding a second whole book to The Bible to fix any mistakes in the first. Like the Bible, the Constitution is a good enough basic document.
To conclude, many Americans believe that marriage is the union of a man and a woman, and most Americans live in states where that is the law today. One virtue of federalism is that it permits this diversity of governance based on local choice, but this applies as well to the states that have chosen to legalize same-sex marriage. Under current Supreme Court authority, Congress’ denial of federal benefits to same-sex couples lawfully married in Massachusetts has not been adequately supported by any permissible federal interest.
