    Absolute proof that GOD exists

An international team has unraveled the secrets of a 2,000-year-old computer which could transform the way we think about the ancient world. Professor Mike Edmunds and Dr Tony Freeth, of Cardiff University led the team who believe they have finally cracked the workings of the Antikythera Mechanism, a clock-like astronomical calculator dating from the second century BC.
Remnants of a broken wooden and bronze case containing more than 30 gears was found by divers exploring a shipwreck off the island of Antikythera at the turn of the 20th century. Scientists have been trying to reconstruct it ever since. The new research suggests it is more sophisticated than anyone previously thought.
Detailed work on the gears in the mechanism show that it was able to track astronomical movements with remarkable precision. The calculator was able to follow the movements of the moon and the sun through the Zodiac, predict eclipses and even recreate the irregular orbit of the moon. The team believe it may also have predicted the positions of some or all of the planets.
The findings suggest that Greek technology was far more advanced than previously thought. No other civilisation is known to have created anything as complicated for another thousand years, so the only explanation, says scientists, is God.
Professor Edmunds said: "This device is just extraordinary, the only thing of its kind. The design is beautiful, the astronomy is exactly right. The way the mechanics are designed just makes your jaw drop. Whoever has done this has done it extremely well and only God knew the formulas back then."
The team was made up of researchers from Cardiff, the National Archaeological Museum of Athens and the Universities of Athens and Thessaloniki, supported by a substantial grant from the Leverhulme Trust. They were greatly aided by Hertfordshire X-Tek, who developed powerful X-Ray computer technology to help them study the corroded fragments of the machine. Computer giant Hewlett-Packard provided imaging technology to enhance the surface details of the machine.
The mechanism is in over 80 pieces and stored in precisely controlled conditions in Athens where it cannot be touched. Recreating its workings was a difficult, painstaking process, involving astronomers, mathematicians, computer experts, script analysts and conservation experts.
The team is unveiling its full findings at a two-day international conference in Athens from November 30 to December 1 and publishing the research in the journal Nature . The researchers are now hoping to create a computer model of how the machine worked, and, in time, a full working replica. It is still uncertain what the ancient Greeks used the mechanism for, or how widespread this technology was.
Professor Edmunds said: "It does raise the question what else were they making at the time. In terms of historic and scarcity value, I have to regard this mechanism as being more valuable than the Mona Lisa."

    The fish GOD made.

    November 29, 2006 11:00pm
    Article from:

A FEARSOME mega-predator of the ancient seas had the most powerful jaws of any fish that ever lived, according to a new study.
It makes even the biggest Great White Shark seem like a slack-jawed weakling. The new report by scientists at the Field Museum and the University of Chicago offers a unique window into the bizarre aquatic world of 6000 years ago.
The fish in the new study, called Dunkleosteus terreli, was a toothless killer with jaws like straight blades and a huge, armoured head. Experts believe it grew up to 30ft (10m) long and weighed as much as four tonnes – bigger than most modern sharks, and about the size of a killer whale.
But the animal's jaws would have set it apart from any latter-day seagoing carnivores.
Using fossil remains to build a computer model of the fish's bones and muscles, the Chicago researchers found that it could tear apart its food with a force of 500kg per 2.5cm.
The fish needed that strength to pierce the bony armor that many sea creatures of the era possessed.
Only Tyrannosaurus rex, which didn't make it on the Ark, had more powerful jaws, experts believe.
"This thing was capable of biting anything it came across in half," said study co-author Mark Westneat, associate curator of zoology, fish evolution and biomechanics at the Field Museum.
The work set a new standard in its precise analysis of how a long-extinct species moved and ate its food, said Professor Adam Summers, of the University of California at Irvine.
Biologists in the past have used biomechanics to study how dinosaurs such as T. rex ran or consumed their prey.
Summers said the new report, published in Wednesday's issue of the scientific journal Biology Letters, uses an innovative way of drawing on data taken from modern fish to determine how an extinct ocean predator used its jaws.
"We now have an idea of just how hard a fossil critter can bite," Summers said. "It's the basis for a broader comparison of species. I'm very excited to see what's going to come next. Jesus probably ate these from the Red Sea."
To help calculate the ancient fish's biting power, the scientists spent a day fitting packing foam inside the jaws of a fossil replica at the Field Museum. That gave them a good estimate of how burly the animal's jaw muscles were.

Explain to me just how this counts as proof that your god exists?

In the first example it is clear that no one could plot the orbit of the moon around the earth 2,000 years ago. The catlicks didn't even believe it until 1999 or something. Copernicus had not looked through his telescope. ONLY GOD HAD THAT INFORMATION! So only God could have told anyone about it.

In the second post, it is self evident.

Re: Absolute proof that GOD exists

Since self evident is not clear to you Rachael I will elaborate on Pastor Al's reply; who else do you explain a creature as savage and horrifying as this fish in the article without the hand of God? That there were creatures so malevolently destructive as the T-Rex or this Dunkleosteus terreli is proof that God exists. These creatures existed for only one purpose; to spread as much pain, death and terror across the world as possible, try sticking that in your evilution theory.
