They won't leave me alone!
The nanny-state liberals are at it again. Someone complained about gas-powered leaf blowers several years ago, and my HOA (home-owners' association) was weak and passed a regulation banning them ANYWHERE in our private gated community.
This wasn't a problem for me until recently. In the last two months I have been cited and fined for allowing my gardeners use them!!
I think the neighbor across the street is the one who is making all the trouble. Old Mrs. Thiele is a big troublemaker, and I see her peeking out of the blinds to spy on my gardeners. I'm pretty sure she's the one who calls the HOA to complain. Each time I get a fine of 25$ and a notice to stop.
This really gets in my craw. Who are they to tell me what kind of tools my gardeners can't use on MY OWN PROPERTY?? They get to use their gas powered lawnmowers and hedge trimmers, so why not a leaf blower? Do you know how long it takes to rake all of those leaves?? And, besides, everyone knows that electric leaf blowers don't have as much power as the gas ones. I would need three fifty foot extension cords just to reach the edge of the lawn!
Two can play at this game, Mrs. Thiele. I don't like you spying on me and making your worthless complaints. I have devised a method of avoiding detection while my gardeners use their gas leaf blower. This information might be useful in case anyone else is experiencing this kind of oppression:
Tie an extension cord to the gas powered leaf blower. The gardener goes about his business, and the neighbor is satisfyed that she can see them using what she thinks is an electric blower.
Ever since I came up with this idea, the complaints have stopped. Sometimes I even amaze myself.
8.2.18 Use of Gasoline Powered Leaf Blowers Prohibited.
