You are so correct, Brother Billy Bob. Just yesterday we shouted to a gasping old atheist he must give his heart to Jesus. He whispered, OK, there was a gasp and he was dead.

We had it on tape and played it for the hippy son who arrived just a little too late. It was a joy to hear the hippy's expletive--he could not do a thing about it.

However, we need more volunteers to monitor rooms where the critically ill are being cared for. We need to be ready for move when a patient starts to fade and there are no relatives there to stop us.

How pleased Jesus must be with this initiative.

Re: Freehold Initiative To Increase Death Bed Conversions

To Freehold citizens, this is my periodic call for volunteers to patrol hospital corridors watching for pending deaths of non believers. Our program to convert those just before death has snatched so many from Satan's grasp we must renew our energy to keep it going.

While these are commonly called "death bed conversions" they are actually just conversions. The famous atheist, Christopher Hitchens, converted just before he died by a program like ours.

The program interviews hospital chaplains to identify those who do not want chaplain services. Then when death approaches, our volunteers watch for times relatives are not present, slip into the room and demand the patient accept Jesus. Volunteers carry audio recording equipment so relatives cannot later claim it did not happen.

Those able to volunteer can call City Hall for further information.

Re: Freehold Initiative To Increase Death Bed Conversions

So often people think they're an exception to God's rule when they're not. And although everyone is condemned for the same reason..sin..not everyone's circumstances are the same. Certain hospitals cater to specific belief systems, many of which are blasphemous. There are consequences passed down which need to be identified and made known to the expiring souls by pointing out details and explaining the remedy in Christ.
Matthew 27:24-25 When Pilate saw that he could prevail nothing, but that rather a tumult was made, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person: see ye to it. Then answered all the people, and said, His blood be on us, and on our children.

It's important to be quite direct. Time is limited and blasphemy against The Holy Ghost needs to be avoided the consequences of which also need explaining. Not all groups have this to contend with.
Matthew 23:9 And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.

Whole sects are indoctrinated to call men "father" even unmarried men in one particular cult. Those parasites will hovering to leech what they can from the terminally ill and dying. In many cases they'll walk right in and try to stop you from sharing The Good News but even here Jesus can prevail with last hours exorcism, an option that can be offered. Let's face it, this could be their only opportunity to be free!
Luke 14:25-26 There went great multitudes with [Jesus] and he turned, and said unto them, If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.

Children may be present. Satan will be on-the-case trying to get categorical denials of Christ's message by any means possible. Parents and other family members are there for the grief porn and they are not our concern. Such an important witness takes priority over soporific fluff and only by speaking out can His words be made known.

What is the policy of Landover concerning family members? Should they be permitted visits at so critical a spiritual moment?

Re: Freehold Initiative To Increase Death Bed Conversions

This is a topic about which I know a thing or two. I have been a hospice volunteer for years for this very reason. Being a volunteer for a hospice organization gives me unquestioned access to the terminally ill. In providing respite for at-home caregivers who understandably need time away from their failing loved ones from time to time, the Lord has provided me with ample one-on-one time with those whose eternal salvation may not necessarily be nailed down yet. I can't even count how many times those I've visited in hospice care converted to accepting Jesus into their hearts moments before they expired and the tears of joy their caregivers have shed upon their return home after learning that their loved one now rests easy in Jesus' warm embrace.

I'm glad you have been able to convert a few sinners in their last hours. While your efforts may appear significant, and they were for the few who benefited, our Freehold Initiative is much larger. We operate in the several giant hospitals in the Des Moines metro. They have thousands of patients and many die every day.

Our research and training programs learned that hospital staff are required to fill out more paperwork every year. This means they are at computer terminals. Our Freehold Initiative team can slip secretly into rooms more easily than ever to convert those almost dead.

I would encourage you to continue making conversions in your hospice work. Perhaps one day you can become a True Christian™ and join our team in Freehold.

Mr. Hold, my efforts have been miniscule in their scope compared with those of the Freehold Initiative and my heart is lifted by the importance given this issue by an organization of this stature. As relatively few (admittedly only sixteen to date) as I have been able to convert moments before their last breath, it was far more significant to each of those individuals than any of the other accomplishments in their lives. I would welcome the opportunity to observe your team in action and to learn about - possibly even share some of my own - "best practices" when a conversion is perhaps the only real - albeit final - achievement of someone's previously empty life.

I've found that a bedside reading of John 5: 25-29 has been very instrumental in getting the attention of even those who were previously resistant to allowing Jesus into their hearts.

25 "Uerily, verily I say vnto you, The houre is comming, & now is, when the dead shall heare the voice of the Sonne of God: and they that heare, shall liue."
2626 "For as the Father hath life in himselfe: so hath he giuen to the Sonne to haue life in himselfe:"
2727 "And hath giuen him authority to execute iudgement also, because he is the Sonne of man."
2828 "Marueile not at this: for the houre is comming, in the which all that are in the graues shall heare his voice,"
2929 "And shall come foorth, they that haue done good, vnto the resurrection of life, and they that haue done euill, vnto the resurrection of damnation."
It is typically only moments later that the converted first lay eyes on Jesus Christ Himself as they are Received by Him at that moment in Paradise.

Recently I've noticed that family members who attend the bedside of the grievously ill are likely to mention how much they love one another. Jesus is explicit that family members must be hated, all family members except Husbands that is.

Satan wants to get the patient assigned to him for everlasting torture. Do you think all the love stuff is his handiwork to prevent patients from being disciples of Christ? If so, it's a pretty low stunt and in direct opposition to what Jesus explained.

                  Your comment would be appreciated.

Young lady, you are right on point! Glory to God! This is why volunteering for providing "respite" to family members is so vital. This gives them an opportunity to spend some needed time away from the bedside that they might find ways to relax and regroup while the inevitable expiration of their loved one draws near. It's during these times of lovingly providing that respite that I have had so many opportunities to take the hand of the bedridden sinner who has this final opportunity to accept Jesus Christ and to beseech them to follow Him and ONLY Him into the next phase of their existence. This process cannot be approached with kid gloves as many of those who are facing their imminent last breath simply refuse to choose the right path that is right smack in front of them. Whatever the outcome, when those who I so lovingly granted respite return and realize that their beloved no longer suffers in this realm, their tears of joy have always been genuine. But I'm always honest with them about the decision their loved one has just made as they should know whether they are mourning the loss of someone who chose Jesus when they could, or someone who did not. May the Holy Spirit continue to guide my every thought and action in Jesus' name.

The term "comatose" comes up in our work with the terminally ill. Specifically, the question is, "When the patient is not responding and we ask him to accept Jesus as his Lord and Savior, do we take that as a yes or no?"

Others may disagree, but my rule is that the patient has the right of refusal. In fact, he/she has the duty to refuse. Thus, when he/she does not refuse the overture to accept Jesus, we have another soul saved.

Cranky family members may complain when we tell them their loved one has left their clan of atheists, but we make the rules.

Mr. Hold, you bring up a fascinating and timely point. A person in a coma is not necessarily unaware of their surroundings or unconscious. From a medical standpoint, it's actually far more likely that they can hear when spoken to than that they cannot. That said, as long as a person is informed that their soul is being saved and placed in Jesus' loving arms, no affirmation is required. In my own experiences with patients who are comatose, their tacit approval moments before they expire will hold up in Heavenly court. Indeed it is that expiration that signifies such approval as 'hanging on' indicates resistance. I have yet to encounter resistance and am convinced that every soul thus placed in our Dear Savior's warm embrace now lives eternally in the bliss our Heavenly Father bestows upon even the most wretched of souls that supplicate themselves to Him in this way.

Re: Freehold Initiative To Increase Death Bed Conversions

Jesus knew the difference between demon possession and a coma and we know that comatose persons occupied by demons would be revived if effective prayer were offered (by a Christian, obviously; Hindu mutterings have the reverse effect) or if oil were applied by an Elder. For someone in a legitimate coma the absence of a response denying Christ or otherwise rejecting Salvation—a spasm perhaps—should suffice.
Luke 9:50 And Jesus said unto him, Forbid him not: for he that is not against us is for us.

Jesus explained how absence of opposition to the wonderful work He launched—continued today by Christians in the power of The Holy Ghost—constitutes support for it. Redemption from the revolting circumstances of our birth, so vile in God's eyes, is the pivotal outcome in Christian lives just as Christ is the foundation stone of Christian faith. To oppose that work is beneath contempt, so far beneath as to deserve torture, but not it is the hallmark of acceptance.

Personal opinion doesn't come into it.
                          . .Jesus said it.
                          . .. .I accept it.
                          . .. .. .That settles it.

Landover and Freehold have been at the cutting edge of Death Bed Conversions. To say this has significantly increased the number of souls saved would be an understatement. We have people all around the areas patrolling hospitals. We slip money to nurses for information about patients that are not going to make it. Then with considerable stealth we move in and save for eternity the very ill and failing.

It was refreshing to learn others work at the important mission as well. Cristopher Hitchens was unconscious when a nurse saved him. Below is the story of a prominent family, the Baldwins, where a son moved in to convert his mother shortly before she died:

Inheritance! We just have to convince them that giving their kids money will just make them lazy and reduce their motivation to work. That money should go to the church instead.

Another good tactic is to mention that they shouldn't be spending that money on end of life medical care for themselves. The sooner they pass away the sooner they get to enjoy Heaven. It's a win-win.

It actually could be a good return on investment in terms of time to money ratio. A big lump sum immediately rather than getting out 10% over years.

Some of these old dying people have a lot of property and money left over.
Close minded people are just right people who don't want to spend time arguing.
