Sister Mitza, your dedication to find out the Truth is simply inspiring. Most people don't even read the Holy Bible but simply assume what they think must be in it, is in it. You search for concrete evidence. I hope this demoness learned something today.

Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

When we read God's Word either straight through from Genesis to Revelation or in any other order, we find out how consistent He is. For example, sometimes I start with Judges—a really great book—and see God's Perfect Love in action. I find Deborah particularly encouraging.

JUDGES 4
1
And the children of Israel again did evil in the sight of the LORD, when Ehud was dead.
No surprises so far, then.
2 And the LORD sold them into the hand of Jabin king of Canaan, that reigned in Hazor; the captain of whose host was Sisera, which dwelt in Harosheth of the Gentiles.
3 And the children of Israel cried unto the LORD: for he had nine hundred chariots of iron; and twenty years he mightily oppressed the children of Israel.
4 And Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, she judged Israel at that time.
5 And she dwelt under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in mount Ephraim: and the children of Israel came up to her for judgment.
6 And she sent and called Barak the son of Abinoam out of Kedeshnaphtali, and said unto him, Hath not the LORD God of Israel commanded, saying, Go and draw toward mount Tabor, and take with thee ten thousand men of the children of Naphtali and of the children of Zebulun?
7 And I will draw unto thee to the river Kishon Sisera, the captain of Jabin's army, with his chariots and his multitude; and I will deliver him into thine hand.
8 And Barak said unto her, If thou wilt go with me, then I will go: but if thou wilt not go with me, then I will not go.
9 And she said, I will surely go with thee: notwithstanding the journey that thou takest shall not be for thine honour; for the LORD shall sell Sisera into the hand of a woman. And Deborah arose, and went with Barak to Kedesh.
KJV .. look up

Barak the wus set off and God's plan unfolded. Vile heathens were chopped up, their hero scarpered, was caught by the wife of an ally who saw an opportunity to witness for The Truth. She accepted Sisera into her tent, gave him some milk because he was thirsty and nailed his head to the floor.

Just as Deborah had foretold. But that was not because she obsessed over crystal balls or did séances. Indeed God is very clear that her ability to judge came from Him, not from her. And clear that such a situation where He ruled Israel Himself was infinitely better than having a king.God's Just Law isn't something we could ever think up for ourselves. Provision for rape victims is a good example, as ravings from Bible deniers illustrate in the thread. And just as the "opinion" of some harlot concerning whether she ought to be incinerated or crushed scores 0 in God's table of appropriate outcomes, it is worth noting that Deborah's opinion ranks at the same level. If she had one. Which she didn't.

And that is what I find encouraging, Mrs Thompson, that by having no opinion at all we can nevertheless still always be correct just like Deborah because we never express "comments" and stuff. Scripture alone is sufficient for us, and if anything else is necessary you can always ask your husband.
After reading Judges, usually I go on to Joshua, or Zephaniah.

Heathens never read it at all.

I'm a bit boring. I read straight from Genesis to Revelations in one sitting. It only takes me about fourteen hours or so. I use one hand to turn the pages and the other hand to cook and clean!
Thinking of Abortion?
That fetus will be in Hell, because they never had a chance to repent their sinful ways (Psalms 51:5) (1 Kings 8:46)
Think of the children. Stop being a slut.

I don't think you're boring. Once I tried going Genesis, Revelation .. Exodus, Jude .. Leviticus, III John .. Numbers etc.,
and Numbers is a fantastic book

Here's a quote from John:
III JOHN 1
11
Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God.
KJV

That is always such a help for me, especially in the context of this topic.

I doubt it. Is "he" even a he? He/she seems a bit too irrational and emotional to be a man. Maybe its a girl who was raped and didn't marry the rapist. Sinners these days...

Haven't you ever heard of the Ten Commandments? It says not to kill. Children should not be murdered, not even if one of the parents is accused of being a criminal. And if the woman simply marries the man then it wasn't really rape, just a first date.
Leviticus 26:15-16
And if ye shall despise my statutes, or if your soul abhor my judgments, so that ye will not do all my commandments, but that ye break my covenant: I also will do this unto you; I will even appoint over you terror, consumption, and the burning ague, that shall consume the eyes, and cause sorrow of heart: and ye shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it.

I had plans to wait until I was married before engaging in any sexual act, however my husband....he did not agree with these plans. My protests were unheeded, and there are those who would consider our initial physical encounter to be rape. However I turned to psalms, and found my guidance in 'psalms 27:8. 'wash me thoroughly from my inequity and cleanse me from my sin'.

It became obvious to me that my protests were inefficient and I sinned in some way by leading my husbands desires beyond his control. By marrying him, it would correct the sin. And everyone knows a husband cannot rape wife, as a wife cannot deny her husband anything. Once we married, my husband also disciplined me for being to him a tempting vision before we were married. He told me the day after this so called rape that I would be his wife, and I would not want for anything again once I ensured I kept him happy and did not deny him anything. He did not even claim his 50 shekels.
Mark 14:38 'watch ye and foray, lest ye enter into temptation, the spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak'

Thessalonians 5:17 'pray without ceasing'

Have a nice day.

What's to misunderstand? The Scripture says that they are to be married, right? The girl was refusing to comply with [what these people believe to be] God's clearly expressed and unambiguous wish. How could anyone who considers themself to be a Christian approve of her actions?

...Also read galatians 3:28 that might help with your hyper sexist bull squat...
No, you read it. See what it says? "...for ye are all one in Christ Jesus..." <--- that bit. She's not "in Christ Jesus" if she's in rebellion against His word, now, is she?

No, He took a convenient opportunity to mock some hypocrites (curiously, that's one of my favourite habits ). As for the woman? He knew that she was still going to burn in Hell for eternity if she didn't acknowledge Him as her Lord and Master and beg forgiveness for dishonouring her husband so grievously, so what if she doesn't die immediately? He's in no rush.

The point is, your God lays out the punishment that He sees appropriate in this case in Deuteronomy. Why are you so anxious to see people disobey God's commands?
