  • Leviticus 24:16 Don't Blaspheme or I'll Have to Kill You

As I was spending time relaxing with the Lord my God tonight, He directed me to one of my favorite books of His Holy Word: Leviticus.
I asked Him, "Lord, my God, what verse wouldst thou lead me unto this evening while I relax with Thee?"

Suddenly, there was a mighty wind that blew the pages of my precious King James Bible, and mine eyes fell upon Leviticus 24:16:

16 And he that blasphemeth the name of the Lord, he shall surely be put to death, and all the congregation shall certainly stone him: as well the stranger, as he that is born in the land, when he blasphemeth the name of the Lord, shall be put to death.

I said, "Lord, what wouldst thou have me learn from this?" And He spake into mine ear and said, "Tell the people not to blaspheme. You know, kind of like what it says there." And I said, "Lord, most Holy God, did you not lead me to the commandments last eve, and didst I not read there, "Thou shalt not kill?" And He whispered unto my ear with a still, small, voice: "What are you saying?"

And I said, "Lord, most almighty King of Kings, this verse would seem to contradict -" and He stopped me right there and said, "Son, I do not EVER speak anything but truth, and I speak it clearly. It is thine own misunderstanding that maketh it appear as a contradiction, which is not pleasing in my sight." So I apologized.

Friends, our God tells us not to kill. (Exodus 20:13) He wants us to obey the laws of the land. (Romans 13:1-14) The reason He tells us to kill those who blaspheme Him is very simple: He is using it like a deterrent - similar to the electric chair or lethal injection. When people see the consequences of blasphemy, the normal person will not blaspheme. That's it, pure and simple. But that makes US responsible for spreading His Divine Word!

We are urged, nay mandated, to preach the gospel to the entire world. (Mark 16:15) Therefore, those persons whose blood is shed due to blasphemy bleed directly onto our hands! There is nothing to wash that blood from us, and that makes it very hard for us when we stand in front of the judgment throne come the Glory. We will have to give account of why we allowed people to blaspheme, when obviously they wouldn't have if we had preached the gospel to them.

Our LORD always has perfect plans. It is in our humanity that His plans are distorted. It is because of our failure to obey that dozens are sent to Hell every day in this world. Tell me, friend: Have you warned someone not to blaspheme today? Why not?

I urge you all to consider Leviticus 24:16 as you go about your daily affairs today and the following day and the day after that and the day after that, ad infinitum. Jesus is watching. God is watching.
    Proverbs 21:31 KJV 1611:
“The horse is prepared against the day of battell: but safetie is of the Lord.”

Lord, may I serve my equine brothers and sisters just as I do my fellow man.
    Amen and Amen

Re: Leviticus 24:16 Don't Blaspheme or I'll Have to Kill You

The LORD GOD spake unto me again today as I was kneeling in prayer on the subway on my way to my volunteer work with blind children at the school for the deaf. He said,

"Larry - there are people blaspheming on this subway even now."

I gasped and said, "But Lord - who?" He replied: "Look around. People are pointing and laughing at you. This is blasphemy. Kill them."

I stand before you to admit that I couldn't do it. Even though the LORD GOD told me to (and of course He would have protected me from the consequences), I didn't kill any of them. He spake again:

"I do not know why thou hast ignored my directions. However, there is yea yet another way - a way indeed - for that which I have requested to be done to be done - yea, even well done. Pray to me now - even now - that these people will die. Pray that they will become cancerous or pneumonious or typhoidius. I will bring this judgment upon them - even upon their houses, for I am the LORD THY GOD."

I said that prayer, friends. I know the next time I take that subway, someone will be visibly sick. The Lord said it, I believe it, and that settles it.

Brother, thanks for reminding people about Leviticus, one of the most overlooked books in the Bible.

All Leviticus is a marvellous chant about life and death, and how God says some people deserve death, while observing the "thou shalt not kill" sentence.

Some people really do not understand this, and like you, they think is a contradiction. But they do not have God on their side, as you have, so they become atheists, or mormons, or other demonic affections.

It is simple, if you think about it. You should not kill, but let God sort it out. So you cannot kill someone because of a minor disagreement. For example, if someone kills your entire family, you are not allowed by God to kill the killer. No, you must obey God's and your land's laws and turn him to the authorities.

Romans 12:19 - Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but [rather] give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance [is] mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

On the other hand, if you find a man lying with a man, the Bible says they both should be killed. That is a big offense; even if is not of your business. Of course it is not of your business, it is God's business!!! But the Bible says you have to obey the law of the land as well, so it says you should but you cannot kill them.

Main insight here: You cannot kill because of your business, God is the one that kills.

It is logic, after all: who better than God to know who shall or not be killed, as He is the creator of everyone and everything.

DISCLAIMER: if the country you live in does not allow to kill homos, you should:

      1) refrain from killling homos
      2) actively pray for Biblical law
      3) actively donate to politicians promoting Biblical law
