This is not about being "conservative", there are many homers that claim to be "conservative", it isn't enough. I've found myself registering here in hopes of saving myself from this devil-reincarnate known as "Minecraft". Long has my search been in looking for help to rid myself of this terrible creation and continue on with my, previously, prosperous life. While I still regularly attend church and between times working on my college studies, I help my community at large.

However, recently, I've come into the grasp of this so-called "game". My friends, whom I'm now largely reconsidering, led me to it's insidious grasp and I've not been able to rid myself of it since. My grades are failing, I've missed my first day of church in many, many years very recently, and I am saddened that this will take me even further down this pit of no return. So here I come to you all, looking for help. Please help me rid myself of this demon.

What can one do here to cleanse their mind and body of something designed to drag you in?

As for what you can do, I say, pray, pray and pray.

I think I'll talk to the Pastors and see if we can start a Minecraft-addict recovery program. There are just so many people suffering from this game with nowhere to turn to.

Let me first start by saying this: I am an atheist, and now that that is cleared up, I want to say that what you are saying 'cranky old man' is extremely biased, especially religiously.

I have played minecraft myself, but only for about a day. However, my friends (Several of them) play it and have done so for quite a while. And yes, it does take up time in your life, but here are some things that I have noticed, both with what you said and with the game:

Positives
1. It allows up to set goals, and develop an understanding of what it takes to achieve a great feat (Building amazing creations and such) by starting with nothing and working your way up.
2. It is simple, relatively non-violent, not gory, bloody, profanity-covered, and needlessly destructive like most modern video games.
3. It gives us an understanding of what life was like before all this technology and urbanization and pollution a.k.a. it shows how life was like before people screwed it up.

And now something about what you said:
Exactly why should we do those "American Things" you talked about, because guess what, WE ARE THE FATTEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD, WE ARE THE MOST WASTEFUL COUNTRY IN THE WORLD, WE ARE OVERBEARING BULLYING & PARANOID IDIOTS WHO CAUSE SUFFERING IN PLACES AS SOON AS WE DON'T LIKE WHATS GOING ON THERE!
