Re: Nine countries that God particularly hates
That tells us what happens to people who believe in Christ. But what about the other people? The ones who don't believe? Who say there ever was a Christ? Because without knowledge of what the word "perish" signifies, which is a topic well developed in The Gospel, what incentive is there for them to believe?
They need to know what God means by love, not what a sailor means. I'm not suggesting that sailors can't be Christians but if you've ever witnessed in a seaport location or been there for any other purpose.–.especially if there's an aircraft-carrier in.–.the descriptions offered, although polite, leave little to the imagination. They deviate from what God describes on several points and those points are covered in exquisite detail throughout the Old and the New Testaments, in the Psalms, The Gospels, in wisdom literature and the future history of Revelation. That's a lot of column inches devoted BY GOD to a subject you imply is of secondary importance.
God loves us, we have accepted His offer of love. Others do not respond in the same way. When God proposes love they say “Ew! No thanks! Eeew!!” or “(soz) bit busy just now, try later” or even “I'm already in love with Hanuman
but if you smote him with a lightning bolt or made his head come off I could think ‘what a wus’ and look for someone else; not necessarily you God, you understand, I'd just as readily become a Zoroastrian or hook up with a totem-pole (you know how it is..)”
Readers need to understand what happens to people revolted by God's Perfect Love, or who are too busy just now or are following a different religion. Some details are included here Revelation 1:8–22:19 but I encourage anyone interested to look up how God describes people who follow different religions. The theme is paramount in God's record of His communications with us and should be easy enough to discover.
Catholics need to be aware: this will involve reading The Bible.
