For someone whom you described as "vocally anti-capitalist," this person seems to know a lot about how to promote his own work by cross-referencing it across different media.

One of the reasons Capitalism beats Socialism is pricing, the secret sauce that allows buyers to communicate with sellers, telling them what they like.

Musicians don't have to think about prices. They they always have buyers right in front of them, communicating what they like. Play a good riff, and the buyers shout their approval at the speed of sound. Tell them to wave their hands in the air like they just don't care, and you can see the reaction at the speed of light.

Light-speed consumer feedback is a nice thing to have, but it's not available if your business is, say, salad kits.



How much dressing to include? How sweet, how salty, how acidic? How many of what ingredient? Simple or complicated? Bag or box? Fresh or cheap? Healthy or yummy? You have to strike a balance across multiple dimensions and you don't have a crowd to shout back at you.

The only way buyers can "wave their hands in the air like they just don't care" is to buy or not buy. This means you need private property rights, money, and competing private enterprise. Not the sort of thing you need to worry about when you get "money for nothing and chicks for free".
