This news item clearly suffers from the typical anti-religious bias you always see in the mainstream media, but I'm intrigued by its subject:

Man realizes he possesses the last Square Earth map

Here's another reason why you shouldn't throw away anything ever. Since the mid-1970s, former North Dakota state senator Don Homuth has been in possession of the only known complete copy of a singularly strange "Square Earth" map from the 1800s.

This map — which takes its cues from Biblical passages — claims that the Earth resembles a crushed pizza box and that the corners of the planet are guarded by angels the size of continents. As an adult, Homuth received this map from his eighth-grade teacher. Decades later, he realized this map could be the last unblemished map out there and is now donating it to the Library of Congress. Explains Inforum:

Printed in 1893, the nearly 120-year-old "Map of the Square and Stationary Earth" was created by Orlando Ferguson of Hot Springs, S.D.

Ferguson's map supports a theory that the Earth is flat.

Robert Morris, senior technical information specialist in the Geography and Map Division of the Library of Congress, said they searched through 75 to 100 related maps before confirming they didn't have a similar map in its collections.

"Probably very few copies were printed, and even fewer survived," he said.

The only other known remaining map is in the Pioneer Museum of Hot Springs, Ferguson's home.

But the map in the museum is missing a bottom portion, making Homuth's the only identified and fully intact map left, Homuth said.

"For years and years I had it folded away," he said. "It was a shock to hear it may be the only (map of its kind) in the world."

Now we know why the moon landing was faked — those darn giant angels wouldn't let NASA leave the square. Also, what's the Earth made of past Antarctica? Ice? Dirt? Heavenly shortbread? I do relish the notion that if you trip in Sweden, you could end up in Namibia.

I believe I've seen people here make reference to Biblical proof of our world being flat, but I'm not sure whether this Square Earth jibes with Biblical reality or not.

Isaiah seems to say our Earth is a flat circle:

Isaiah 40:22

It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:

Looking at the Square Earth, it almost appears to be an Earth that is both round and kind of flat!

Clearly, the Bible teaches us that the Earth has ends and corners. How could it be otherwise?

The map does confirm Biblical and scientific evidence. We've discussed this topic at length in my 3 experiments thread, Flat Earth? Hell yes!, and Scientific Proof that the Earth is Flat. We have determined beyond a shadow of a doubt that the center of the flat earth is north pole and the continent of Antarctica encircles it on the edges, just like this 1893 map proclaims.

This solves the problem of "sailing over the edges" and "how can you go to Japan to USA to Europe and Japan again?". Just look at the map and it makes perfect sense.

The falsehood of "space" travel is clear from God's description of the sky. It is a solid dome: He made it: He knows what it is.

Secularist "scientists" deny this truth. They are imperfect in their knowledge, and in order to perpetuate the myth of "space" travel they have to lie. And what a monstrous lie it is!

† Additionally, we know that what lies beyond the limits of the earth is WATER. God has told us that, too. The firmament, established by God's Word, keeps these waters at bay. Anyone who has read The Bible knows that.

God does not tell us everything about how or why He created the world, but He does tell us some things. I have heard that "perhaps" we float on a flat disc in "space" or that moons or suns "orbit" one another. God is specific: it is not so.

The earth is SET ON FOUNDATIONS . Psalm 104:5 . Hebrews 1:10

Those foundations are pillars.

Similarly the heavens are supported by beams and pillars. God - who made it Genesis 1:1 - tells us that it is so.

We know that there are waters held in check by God above the sky. There is a vast amount of it.

Psalm 104:6-9 Thou coueredst it [the earth] with the deepe as with a garment: the waters stood aboue the mountaines At thy rebuke they fled: at the voice of thy thunder they hasted away. They go vp by the mountaines: they goe downe by the valleys vnto the place which thou hast founded for them. Thou hast set a bound that they may not passe ouer: that they turne not againe to couer the earth.

In order to flood the earth a quantity exceeding ONE BILLION CUBIC MILES OF WATER was required. The Bible explains that the beams which provide the structure of heaven are laid by God in those waters.

PSALM 104
1 Blesse the Lord, O my soule, O Lord my God, thou art very great: thou art clothed with honour and maiestie.
2 Who couerest thy selfe with light, as with a garment: who stretchest out the heauens like a curtaine.

Clearly in such an environment there is no place for "orbiting" moons or planets. Or suns. That is not some opinion I just thought up. It is explicitly stated BY GOD in The Bible.

There is so much information provided by God in The Bible on this subject that no doubt can possibly remain as to the treachery and falsehood of feeble "science" and the power and authority of Almighty God. Whether I read The Old Testament or The New Testament, the wisdom literature, Psalms, Gospel, epistles or the future History of Revelation, I always read the same thing. God is consistent. False "scientists" are not.

Let the sinners be consumed out of the earth, and let the wicked bee no more: blesse thou the Lord, O my soule. Praise yee the Lord.

I like this map a lot. It looks Biblically accurate to me, and it looks like it would solve a few mathematical issues that I have with my model.

I'd like to get a copy of the book he mentions down in the corner of his map. A little Googling showed me that the American Philosophical Society has a
copy of Orlando Ferguson's The latest discoveries in astronomy: The globe theory of the earth refuted available in their library in Philadelphia.

This book is public domain now, and it would be wonderful if Google were to send one of their drones over there to digitize that book and make it
available online. Does anyone know the process to get that started?
