right, seeing as im an open minded person.....i challenge u guys...if the world is indeed flat, show me a picture of the end of the earth. i dont mean a simple picture of a canyon drop...i mean the physical end where u can no longer see ANYTHING

here's something to consider: if u live in america (LAX), and u fly to australia, the flight duration is 14.5 hours. if u fly from england to australia, the flight is 21.5 hours. yet if u fly from LAX to england, the flight is only 10 hours.

if australia is so much further away (on the other side of the earth), how can the travelling time be so much shorter?

if, what i said, for what ever reason, is unclear; have a look at this:

america is on one side of the earth, australia is on the other side

distance of sydney to london = 10562 miles
distance of london to LAX = 5456 miles

therefore, distance of sydney to LAX is roughly 16000 miles

so how can it only take only 14.5 hours to fly 16000 miles, but it takes 21.5 hours to fly 10562 miles?

LOOOOOOOOl there are ALWAYS headwinds? headwinds which are at exactly the same speed and direction? do u even realise at what speed those headwinds would need to be???? if u do a little research, u will see that NO flight has EVER been delayed for more than a half hour due to landable wind conditions

speed = distance / time
speed = 16000 / 14.5
speed = 1100 mph

so ur telling me that, somehow, magically, if u go from LAX to sydney the plane can all of a sudden do 1100 mph???? THATS ONLY 300MPH SLOWER THAN AN F-15 FIGHTER JET!!!

I have a BBA and a BSc. so I think that's enough education to know bull hockeys when I see it. I take it you've never heard of the trade winds AKA the "jet stream". Yes it takes longer to travel one direction than the other because this wind helps speed your trip one way or the other.

im very aware of the jet stream. in fact, i am a private pilot. so i know what im talking about.

what i have given u there is pure fact. i have travlled to LAX, london and sydney. and i can promise that the times i gave u are absolutely correct.

ur right in saying that it takes longer to travel one direction than the other. but how much longer?

and as for the jetstream.....do u honestly thing a jetstream will make a 500mph difference?

my intentions of being here are pure. i would not feed u false information because that would not benefit either u, nor me. i would get no pleasure or gain to blatantly lie to u

yup please do that, as he would be able to tell u guys that im not lying about any of this

all the info (the times and distances etc) all make a single assumption. that u are flying from the west, to the east, which would only be possible if the world was flat. HOWEVER, the ACTUAL flying distance from LAX to sydney is 7487. but how does that work? well, when u fly from LAX to sydney, there is no need to fly all the way across europe, africa, asia etc. instead, u fly THE OTHER WAY ROUND. this can only happen if the earth was a 3d shape.

lets compare:

distance from LAX to london = 5454 miles and flying time = 10 hours
therefore the average speed would be 545.4 mph

distance from london to sydney = 10562 miles and flying time = 21.5 hours
therefore the average speed would be 491 mph

now, if u HAD to fly from west to east (to get from LAX to sydney and assuming the earth is flat) the distance would be 16000 miles, but the flying time is only 14.5 hours
therefore the average flying speed would be 1100 mph (double what we already have!)

so what could be wrong here? well, like i said earlier, if the earth is an actual 3d shape, the distance from LAX to sydney would be cut to only 7487 miles instead of 16000
therefore the average speed would be 516 mph

NOW WERE ON THE RIGHT TRACK!!

have a look at that circular flat earth picture u posted. note the MASSIVE difference in distance from north america to australia, and that of north america to europe. flying at roughly the same speed....do u really think there would only be a 4.5 hour difference in flying time?

moreover (again looking at that picture), note that north america, australia and europe form an isosceles triangle (australia being the farthest point). so, if europe is roughly the same distance from australia as north america is, how can the flying time and distance be nearly DOUBLE from europe to australia, than that of north america to australia??
