Can you help me on this one Brother Nobar, My collection day is a Friday and the collection is usually around 1:15p.m., and, unfortunately this is the day that the entire Bathfire retinue will be travelling to Aspen at 8 a.m. for a break of 14 days. Clearly it will be impossible for me to retrieve it on the following day!

    What am I to do?

I suspect that if you leave a note on the cans the garbage men should be able to wheel them off the street for you. Otherwise, maybe one of your friendly neighbors would be willing to help you out. I would come over and do it, but I'm going to be busy that day.

        Re: Please mind your garbage!

You guys might think that a little unwanted trash is funny and you might be laughing at me, but this is serious issue.

I've been doing some work on my house, and from time to time construction crews from other properties just dump their debris on my easement to save them the time and money from going to the dump to get rid of their junk. IT'S DRIVING ME CRAZY!!! They think that because there's some junk lying around that they can just dump their stuff here.

I call the cops but what can they do without proof? I set my CCTV camera to record the street, but it wasn't sharp enough to see the license plates of the illegal dumpers. If I sit outside to look for them, they don't stop.

Now that I think about it, this dumping occurs more often during winter. I think because it's dark and cold out, and people are inside minding their own business and not sitting on the front porch and monitoring what's going on outside.

I put up a sign, but that didn't work, either:
May you be a blessing to every life you touch.

Could be worse, imagine if someone dumped a big heap of dirty brown garbage in the Mayoral Mansion!
O Lord our God, help us to tear their soldiers to bloody shreds with our shells; help us to cover their smiling fields with the pale forms of their patriot dead; help us to drown the thunder of the guns with the shrieks of their wounded, writhing in pain; help us to lay waste their humble homes with a hurricane of fire; help us to wring the hearts of their unoffending widows with unavailing grief; help us to turn them out roofless with little children to wander unfriended the wastes of their desolated land in rags and hunger and thirst, sports of the sun flames of summer and the icy winds of winter, broken in spirit, worn with travail, imploring Thee for the refuge of the grave and denied it--for our sakes who adore Thee, Lord, blast their hopes, blight their lives, protract their bitter pilgrimage, make heavy their steps, water their way with their tears, stain the white snow with the blood of their wounded feet! We ask it, in the spirit of love, of Him Who is the Source of Love, and Who is the ever-faithful refuge and friend of all that are sore beset and seek His aid with humble and contrite hearts. Amen.

God being truth, justice, goodness, beauty, power, and life, man is falsehood, iniquity, evil, ugliness, impotence, and death. God being master, man is the slave. Incapable of finding justice, truth, and eternal life by his own effort, he can attain them only through a divine revelation... he who desires to worship God must harbor no childish illusions about the matter, but bravely renounce his liberty and humanity.

Freehold must be a real nice place to live. You all hold tight to the three most important things, God, guns, and country. God bless you all.

It helps a lot to have someone who watches after this kind of lawlessness. If people were allowed to do whatever they wanted to, society would revert to anarchy. We all know how great that is!

The latest news from Freehold Sanitation: Food waste and empty (used/dirty) to-go containers made of paper are now to go into the garden waste (green) bins. In addition, the green bins are now collected each week as opposed to every other week, that's to discourage pests (rats) from getting into your food waste if it sits around for two weeks. My bill just went up another 10%, probably to cover the cost of picking up my food scraps. I can't figure out why I have to do all of the sorting to make it easier for FSD to dispose of the trash, AND I have to keep paying more for them to come by and collect it. A lot of times I don't have anything in my trash can and my recycling bin is half empty and there's no garden waste because it's the middle of winter but I still have to pay 42$ for the privilege of having a noisy truck come down my street each week just to collect a few dozen cans of Miller Lite.

I miss the old days when everyone used to carry their bags of trash to the bin at the end of the street that was collected every week. Some weeks the bin would overflow, but the cost was less and it wasn't as noisy as it is now with three trucks coming weekly to each residence to pick up the different colored bins and then on Wednesday I have to listen to the same thing all over again because I happen to live near the boundary of the collection route.

At least we don't live in France where the garbage piles up when the socialists go on strike.

We're so proud to have an active and concerned citizen like yourself in Freehold, Nobar.

A new problem has emerged. Poor people from the Des Moines neighborhoods next to Freehold have been trying to sneak past the gated entries to dump their trash in the bins of our citizens.

Everyone wants to get into Freehold. We can be proud of that.

Brother Nobar, you could save on rubbish collection costs if you compost your food scraps and garden waste. There are composting bins you can buy that keep everything clean and pest-free. Once it's all broken down it can be used on gardens as mulch. I know that sounds a bit greenie - tree-hugger, but if it saves money, why not?

Composting is for communists. I toss all my household trash out in a big hole over in niggertown on the south side of Freehold.

Or rather I have my servants do it.

I don't know what garbage collection is like in the UK, but in the U.S.A. we don't get a discount for having less garbage. The water utility wants us to conserve to save money, and Alliant energy wants everyone to use CFL lights and turn our water heaters down, but the garbage company hasn't done anything to reward residents who don't generate much garbage. I'm all about saving money, but I think I'm going to have to wait until hell freezes over for my garbage bill to go down.
