Hello forumers,

I will just throw this out there. I am infact an atheist. I stumbled upon your forum from another site and i had a read around it and i find the stuff you post and talk about rather intriguing.

I have read the thread posted by your admin "Noobs" please read this before posting."

I have no intention of arguing with any of you or debating to a degree - i am sure there will be some things said i will give my view on but i will not be spouting any hateful speech etc.

I will give a bit of background of myself. I was baptised as a Methodist - i don't know your view on that. I attended church from the age of four till the age of (i think) sixteen.

You could say it was "teenage rebellion" but in my close family i was probably the only one who went to church so there was no one to really rebel against. I became a bit jaded with the Bible so i stopped attending church.

I currently work in science. I'll mention a few other things here that you may not really associate with atheists (or maybe you do?)

I DO doubt my beliefs (or lack of) at times and i DO think the Bible is an important text, especially in relation to moral values.

So anyway that being said.

At least you were considerate enough to do that.

I DO doubt my beliefs (or lack of) at times and i DO think the Bible is an important text, especially in relation to moral values.

A good start and this shows promise - we can work with that. Like going to Alcoholics Anonymous, all you need is the desire to stop drinking - in this case you want to stop living a life of Atheism, we have the cure friend!!

Why would we hate? Jesus has sent you here to us for a reason, and you even admit you doubt atheism - ironic - but like I said, we can work with that.

I want you to be saved!! I wouldn't wish hell on anyone...well, Jimmy Carter maybe, but I doubt you could ever top the evil that man has done.

Ah, you studied creation science. It's always good to admire God's great creations. Amazing that he created everything in just a few days. Very fast when you realize that the idiot who is trying to repair my Hummer has already been working on it for over a week now.

I don't hate God. In all seriousness i think God is a brilliant idea. I just have a problem accepting it. Maybe the members of this site can persuade me otherwise.

Do you expect people to be your performing monkeys all the time, or just at this forum?

People can warn you about what will happen if you don't stop hating Jesus, people can refute your suggestions that there is no God. But it is you who must find Him in the end, He already knows everything about you.

A troubling statement Scott- Idea? God is no "idea" God is GOD!!!

Accepting it? Accepting "HIM" is more like it, and the sooner you do the better. Why would you want to rot in hell?

I don't expect you to do anything. I was under the impression that as christians you sought to educate people about your religion.

I can't remember verses (apologies) but is there not a story within the Bible after Jesus' resurrection that his disciples are gifted by God with the ability to speak in different languages which they used to go out and educate the people of the world?

At no point did i say i hated Jesus - i of course accept that Jesus was a real man and i have no problem with him.

I don't understand why you get uptight about this. I don't try to disprove your religion - i have already stated that in my first post that i have no intention of doing this. You are the one calling me out on this and trying to make me break forum rules. I have no intention of doing that.

Yes it is down to me but say a man came up to you and asked for you to teach him about God would you turn around and say to me what you just said? Basically that you aren't going to help and show me the way and that it's all down to me? There are so many interpretations of Biblical work how am i meant to know what is right?

This is what i am asking of you and you turned me away. Is this true christian behaviour?

Scott, do you really think 'i think God is a brilliant idea'?

Do you have a problem accepting your life?
Do you have a problem accepting the love of your parents?

None of that would be possible without God. Without Jesus, you would never be, nor your parents or grandparents. Is that want you want Scott? You want your Grandparents to of never been born? All the puppies and kittens, never happened? No Earth, Sun and Moon? That is a bit selfish, even for you, isn't it Scott?

So no, I am not going to persuade you. I want you to look your mom in her eyes and tell her that you do not believe in God. That because of this belief, you wish she were dead. That is what you are telling us, now telling to your parents.

Scott, this is the difference between your false Christians and True Christians - the Bible and God's knowledge is not all about rainbows and unicorns sneezing rainbows. True Christians do not just read the lovey dovey parts of the Bible (we have read it ALL), there is some serious tough love God has for his children (that's you and me).

I take it you have not read the Bible (the King James Version) have you?

If you had, you'd know.

Apologies i am trying to take care in writing to avoid causing offence. Why is God necessarily a man and not a woman? Is there scripture in the Bible to support this?

You see this is why i am here. I don't believe in hell. I am here to ask you and understand your beliefs so i can reassess my own beliefs.

I have read parts of it. Not all of it. You say "unicorns sneezing rainbows". Are you saying that you take everything said in the Bible literally or do you have interpretations? I said in my first post that there are parts of the Bible i agree with. The parables that are taught i think are a really good teaching method of moral values.
