  • Beware of False Prophets

    Matt 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

    The Good News of the Gospel is a message of repentance of sins (Mark 1:15), believing in Jesus (John 3:16), being born again (John 3:3), and performing the Will of God (Matt 7:21). However, the Devil doesn't want us to receive this message. He wants to destroy us by sending false prophets with lying tongues to twist and obscure the message. They will pose as men of God, but tell you that you don't have to change your ways and give up your sins to be saved. But what did Jesus have to say?

    Luke 13:3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

    We recently had one such false prophet join our forum and attempt to spread the message that repentance is unnecessary. However, the call to repent from sins is the second most important theme in the Gospel of Jesus Christ (the most important being God's Love). Repentance is a necessary step in the plan of salvation. Our sins are forgiven, but only if we repent of them.

    Matt 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

    Matt 9:13 But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

    Matt 11:20 Then began he to upbraid the cities wherein most of his mighty works were done, because they repented not:
    Matt 11:21 Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works, which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.
    Matt 11:22 But I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the day of judgment, than for you.

    Mark 1:14 Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,
    Mark 1:15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

    Mark 6:12 And they went out, and preached that men should repent.

    Luke 13:3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
    Luke 13:5 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

    Luke 15:7 I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.

    John 8:11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.

    This man eventually left after realizing that we were all saved Christians who understand the Gospel message, and can not be swayed by false teachings. He seems to be used to dealing with more worldly people, in love with their sin, whose itching ears are eager for a message that they can continue to sin and still be saved.

    As a Pastor, I will continue to follow God's charge:
    2Tim 4:1 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
    2Tim 4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
    2Tim 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
    2Tim 4:4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
    2Tim 4:5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

    Friends, I urge you to join me in prayer for this man, that the Holy Spirit soften his hardened heart, and make him receptive to the true message of the Gospel.

    Pastor Billy-Reuben
    Upon request I will cite scripture for all these facts in God's Holy Word.

    ✝ This is a Christian community and we worship GOD of the Holy bible, the only Living GOD. We worship Jesus Christ, Son of GOD and Savior. Anything else is absurd. ✝

      Re: Beware of False Prophets

      I visited his site. He suffers from the demons of prolix. His words are a wall of text with a narrow central strip in low point, bold, italicized font with random underlining. The succubus of multicolored fonts besets him yet the colors do not seem to have any significance. His paragraphs are not clearly delineated. He explains everything twice and then changes his mind.

      He even said on several occasions that his readers can’t understand him – small wonder. I have marked him down as a false prophet.

      Although he does say on his site, “Be aware that this person posing as Pastor Billy Reuben is very intelligent, very learned …” thereafter he spoils it by, quite frankly, departing from reality.

      His comments on you in the blog are quite offensive and his link to the incident concerning “Dora” and Mrs Betty Bowers was quite unnecessary, especially when there is no right of reply.

      He even managed to link to the Wikipedia website with all the wrong information on it, instead of the correct version.

      His knowledge of the Bible was extremely limited, very selective and, as has been pointed out, he spent a long time comparing himself to Jesus.

      You were long suffering with him Pastor; you are an example to us all.
