  • What do you know about Passover?

Among this year’s exam for the “Junior Soldiers and Handmaidens of Christ” (ages 7 through 10) was this one about Passover. It came in four parts – How would you have done?
    1. Why did God, Who knows everything, and has chosen a people, require a strong visual aid to prevent Him killing His Own team?
    2. In which hand was the staff?
    3. How do you eat a lamb one-handed?
    4. As it was done at night, how did He see the blood?

Let us remind ourselves of Exodus 12:

Ex:12:1 And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying,
Ex:12:2 This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you.

(God invents years and calendars. Before this nobody knew how old they were, or when anything happened, and you chances of booking the right day for a service for your chariot was slim.)

Ex:12:3 Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb,
Ex:12:6 And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening.
Ex:12:7 And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it.
    […]
Ex:12:11 And thus shall ye eat it; with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in haste: it is the LORD's passover.

(I think it is pretty obvious why you should dress like this, so I won’t explain it here.)

Ex:12:12 For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the LORD.
Ex:12:13 And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.

All I need to know about Passover is to watch out for the bankers who kidnap children and torture them to death.

I'm not a theologian and see things simply. It seems to me Passover was Jesus passing over the Jesus and making a real religion, His.
Isaiah 24:1-3 Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty (2)...as the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him. (3) The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken his word.
