The bible is NOT against abortion!

Well, I was doing some thinking, about how you folks are always on about abortion? It got me to thinking, seeing as you take everything from the bible, what does the bible have to say about or against abortion? Well, I'll tell you. NOTHING. If anything, the bible seems to have nothing against abortion at all! And here's a few instances in the bible to support my case:

    Psalm 137:9
9Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones.

So, you find abortion unacceptable, yet you go by a book that seems to be A-Ok with dashing babies against stones? And here's some more:

Isaiah 13:18 Their bows also shall dash the young men to pieces; and they shall have no pity on the fruit of the womb; their eyes shall not spare children.

Obviously, the bible isn't too fussed about unborn children in the above. No pity on the fruit of the womb. Sounds like a bunch of abortions waiting to happen right there!

And in the following passage, this seems to be an example of a prayer for many abortions, or, phrased here, miscarriages:

Hosea 9:14Give them, O LORD: what wilt thou give? give them a miscarrying womb and dry breasts.

And then there are the arguments you make about the soul of the baby. Even the bible doesn't seem to support your theory of a soul in the unborn baby, rather it seems to associate soul, and life, with breath, as illustrated here:

Genesis 2:7 7And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

This seems to imply, right here, that this became an ensouled man upon the receipt of breath. One would assume, then, that the same could be said of babies. Unborn babies haven't taken a breath yet, now, have they?
Mind you, the bible doesn't seem to have qualms against killing babies with or without souls.
So, what do you fundies have to say about that?

It is only acceptable to dash babies onto rocks when He commands us to do so. Perhaps you should read the other verses surrounding those you cherry-picked.

Acceptable would be for us to stone rebellious children to death, but they have already been born. You see the difference?

And what about the verses I posted dealing with not sparing the babies still in the womb, and the prayers for miscarriage? And what about the breath issue?

The not sparing babies in the womb thing was a commandment from God to spare none but the virginal women.

The breath of life was given by God, and who are we to question. Adam was the first after all. It's not like God created a sinning woman first to bring forth Adam.

Prayers for miscarriages was pretty common. Look at all the towel heads in the world. If they didn't breed like Mezicans, they'd be easier to wipe out.

In other words, all those babies-to-be would have been aborted. So in othe words, you're saying it's not ok for a woman to get an abortion when she really needs one, but it is ok so perform abortions as part of a religious slaughter. Nice.

But it talks about the soul coming with the breath of life. Kinda implying that with the biblical writers viewed the soul as connected with the breath. Ie in the body once born.

Prayers for miscarriages was pretty common. Look at all the towel heads in the world. If they didn't breed like Mezicans, they'd be easier to wipe out.
Again, so it's not ok for a woman needing an abortion to have one, but it is ok for you to pray and hope that women miscarry instead? Super nice.

No Rachael, what The Bible is saying a woman's babies should die when God (or one of His preachers) says it should. Not when she says so. Clearly people have to die so but that is too important a decision to leave in the foolish hands of a woman.

Right. In other words, another of the bible's ridiculous double-standards. I'll reply more in depth tomorrow....right now, I really gotta sleep.

Maybe you should accept Jesus as your Savior; what if He kills you in your sleep Rachael?

Again you bring the idiocy, VanBabyeater.

Look, if you are trying to make the point that there are some sections of God's Holy Word that aren't "nice", then I'll agree with you. God isn't nice to harlots and witches and sodomites and blasphemers and this list could go on and on.

But are you seriously attempting to claim that all of the Christians who have worked so long and hard to prevent mass baby killings are Biblically unsound? We've all misread God's Word? We've all misread the Holy Bible, and we really ought to be thanking the jew doctors who commit genocide on all of the unborn future soldiers for Christ, instead of hunting them down like the vermin they are? Is that really what you want to say?

It is obvious to even a moron that in God's eyes, a fetus is the same as a child.

The following are some scriptures which teach that God relates to the unborn in a personal manner, which prohibit abortion. I hope you'll study them:

In Psalm 139:16, the psalmist says concerning God, "Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them."

In Job 31:15 - "Did not he that made me in the womb make him? and did not one fashion us in the womb?"

In Job 10:8-11 we read: "Thine hands have made me and fashioned me together round about; yet thou dost destroy me. Remember, I beseech thee, that thou hast made me as the clay; and wilt thou bring me into dust again? Hast thou not poured me out as milk, and curdled me like cheese? Thou hast clothed me with skin and flesh, and hast fenced me with bones and sinews."

Psalm 78:5-6 reveals God's concern "For he established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children: That the generation to come might know them, even the children which should be born; who should arise and declare them to their children:"

Jeremiah 1:5 - "Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations."

Psalm 139:13 - "For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb"

I could go on and on. VanJellobrain, you have never been more wrong in your life. Just because God calls on us to slaughter the babies of His enemies, it doesn't follow that God does not oppose abortion. As always, your heathen "logic" fails you.

We ask it, in the spirit of love, of Him Who is the Source of Love, and Who is the ever-faithful refuge and friend of all that are sore beset and seek His aid with humble and contrite hearts. Amen.

I'm trying to say that the bible has nothing against abortion. And it is true. Can you show me a single passage which forbids abortion? No, you can't, because there isn't. Although there's plenty in there condoning it!

It is obvious to even a moron that in God's eyes, a fetus is the same as a child.
And the bible has no problem whatsoever killing children, as I've pointed out in the many examples I've posted over time.

In Psalm 139:16, the psalmist says concerning God, "Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them."
Uh, that doesn't prohibit abortion. It is the author praising his deity and saying that he 'saw him while still in the womb' etc. It doesn't say that he couldn't have been terminated in there.

In Job 31:15 - "Did not he that made me in the womb make him? and did not one fashion us in the womb?"
This doesn't prohibit abortion either. Here the protagonist is saying that if he was called to account because of treating a maid unjustly, weren't they all 'fashioned in the womb' the same way? It talks about formation in the womb, it doesn't specify that same life can't be terminated.

This isn't against abortion either. It's Job bemoaning his fate, asking why a deity who created him would turn around and destroy him.

Psalm 78:5-6 reveals God's concern "For he established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children: That the generation to come might know them, even the children which should be born; who should arise and declare them to their children:"
Here they are talking about the 'statutes told to Jacob', to be passed onto future generations. Nothing against abortion there, I'm afraid.

Jeremiah 1:5 - "Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations."
This is talking about the call of Jeremiah, saying, in the story, that the biblical deity 'knew Jeremiah before he was born'. Again, not saying that he, nor any other baby in the womb, couldn't be terminated.

Psalm 139:13 - "For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb"
Same as Psalm 139:16. Not against abortion.

I could go on and on. VanJellobrain, you have never been more wrong in your life. Just because God calls on us to slaughter the babies of His enemies, it doesn't follow that God does not oppose abortion. As always, your heathen "logic" fails you.
I could go on and on too . You could show me example after example, meanwhile striving to hide the most important point of all.
                        Are you ready for it?
                        Here it is, kids!
THERE IS NOT ONE SINGLE PASSAGE IN THE BIBLE THAT EXPLICITLY FORBIDS ABORTION.

Better stick to your nude black mass ritual orgies and stop blaspheming God's Holy Word.
Too cold for those this time of year.

Who says babies don't breathe while in the womb, anyway? They could be getting up to all kinds of hijinks in there.
The definition of breathing is to inhale air into one's lungs. Whatever else they might be getting in their lungs in the womb, they wouldn't exactly be breathing air, would they?

Amen, Brother Temperance. I know of a young woman whose unborn baby "mooned" her by way of ultrasound; most unseemly.
                        Lol!

                          Are you ready for it?
                          Here it is, kids!
THERE IS NOT ONE SINGLE PASSAGE IN THE BIBLE THAT EXPLICITLY FORBIDS ABORTION.
                          Wrong!
Exodus 20:13 Thou shalt not kill.
I believe the term the young people use nowadays is "pwned."
The definition of breathing is to inhale air into one's lungs. Whatever else they might be getting in their lungs in the womb, they wouldn't exactly be breathing air, would they?
I see no reason why not.
O Lord our God, help us to tear their soldiers to bloody shreds with our shells; help us to cover their smiling fields with the pale forms of their patriot dead; help us to drown the thunder of the guns with the shrieks of their wounded, writhing in pain; help us to lay waste their humble homes with a hurricane of fire; help us to wring the hearts of their unoffending widows with unavailing grief; help us to turn them out roofless with little children to wander unfriended the wastes of their desolated land in rags and hunger and thirst, sports of the sun flames of summer and the icy winds of winter, broken in spirit, worn with travail, imploring Thee for the refuge of the grave and denied it--for our sakes who adore Thee, Lord, blast their hopes, blight their lives, protract their bitter pilgrimage, make heavy their steps, water their way with their tears, stain the white snow with the blood of their wounded feet! We ask it, in the spirit of love, of Him Who is the Source of Love, and Who is the ever-faithful refuge and friend of all that are sore beset and seek His aid with humble and contrite hearts. Amen.

God being truth, justice, goodness, beauty, power, and life, man is falsehood, iniquity, evil, ugliness, impotence, and death. God being master, man is the slave. Incapable of finding justice, truth, and eternal life by his own effort, he can attain them only through a divine revelation... he who desires to worship God must harbor no childish illusions about the matter, but bravely renounce his liberty and humanity.

Bah. What with the rest of the bible being full of 'heavenly sanctioned killing sprees', it kind of renders that comandment somewhat ironic at best. If there was no killing in the rest of the bible, perhaps you'd have a case.
Not only that, but it could be assumed that this applied to 'souled beings', anyway. In which case, back to the breath issue.

I see no reason why not.
Do you know why a woman's waters break before she gives birth? It's because the sack of FLUID around the baby has burst. Fluid, not air. Not only that, but the first 7 seconds after birth are the most crucial, for if the baby doesn't breathe after that first seven seconds, something is most likely badly wrong.

Oxygen is fed to the baby's lungs through the mother's none the less. You could say that the breath of life is breathed in by the mother first. In this way, women are blessed by childbirth.
